The livestock pens are out in the open, just in front of the forest that borders the village. They are a crude structure; simple wooden fences with gray sheep and spotted cows meandering about inside. They have been left apparently unguarded; not a single living being, besides the livestock, is in sight.

But eyes do watch from the nearby forest, and those with keen sight or extra senses might catch a flash of pale, unnatural green through the trees, or a tiny fleck of orange. The guardians may be too far off to prevent enemies from doing damage, but they are certainly near enough to retaliate and warn.

Normal boots crunched dirt and rock underneath, as he made his way past the fences.

The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, his eyes staying straight ahead, but the feeling that he was being watched was unmistakable.

"Damn country side..." Stuffing his hands into the pockets of his coat he continued shuffling forward, heading into the forest itself and leaving the village behind.
