The Old Mill

Taking advantage of the river's power, the villagers built a simple watermill here. With the river let loose, the water passed through here in a rush, flooding its lower level and causing countless little spiders to run for their lives, sweeping the cobwebs away.

The mill's waterwheel is now happily turning, making this place useful once again. Huzzah!

Here, Vahn Kyonuske has stashed some gear. Any of it that he didn't take with him earlier is now very, very soggy.

There are four bowmen here, among them the named NPC Rydia. They are positioned as specified by Mozz in the quoted text below, among the fortifications he makes in the quoted text below. The tigers mentioned have left

Mozz
“Alright, fair people, I need a volunteer for moss armor, you need only a bruise to help secure this place ten fold.” He said as he walked to the river banks “The tigers will need to rely on the cover of a few walls, I’ll make a maze of wall of moss, meanwhile our volunteer will control my mines, while the rest of you snipe. “ He placed a hand on the ground and around the mill a 10t tall, 4ft wide wall of Moss grew, spiked and coverd in strange budges. It would cost the land a lot of nurturance, but the mill was made to possess the walls contracted themselves in a slight maze it would be perilous to get into melee with the archers. Both tigers were instructed to wait for the sounds of combat and then attack any ranged combatants that presented themselves from the outside. More budges were connected by thin layers of mold stretching about shrouding the mill. In short the area around the mill had become a kill zone, the mill itself a fortress.

He left a hole where the entrence of the mill was until the contrast was complete and he got his volunteer. With a cut of that archers had and a patch of mold grown over it, she would be left in charge. Pressing a charge on his blood belt, Mozz graoned and ventured back to aid Aiolos.

Arriving at the mill, Mozz sighed to himself. This was just another sign of the dire straits Radiant was in. This last for but a moment, as speed was the key here, pause for another moment, examine the mill. Mozz waited here to see if it was only Jackknife following him. This place would be a great defensive position if needed.

"This place would be a great defensive position if needed." Said Jacknife stepping into the mill. He grabbed the MP5 on his right side with his right hand and brushed aside a spiderweb as he walked through the dusty room. "Especially after we manage to bust the dam and this becomes the easiest way to get across the river. We could win this war right here." A small rock lifted from the ground and flew into a spiderweb, smashing the spider into the wall behind it. "I really dont like spiders though." He said.

“Alright, we better keep that in mind, but first we need to burst the dam, and before that I want to see these shadow daemons for myself.” Mozz smiled, his anxiousness giving into excitement.

“Well let’s head for the fields, I just wanted to check this place out.” When Jackknife let the mill, Mozz’s hand would touch the ground, leaving a 2 inch think wall of mold covering the doorway. It wasn’t much for a trap, but maybe cover the door would make someone think twice about entering.

After which Mozz would head off towards the fields.

Jacknife followed him out of the mill and looked out across the fields as Mozz touched the ground. Suddenly Mozz turned bright green on the screen of Alan's MTPA. He looked behind himself to see the two foot wall of moss spring up behind him. "Well thats pretty useful." He said. He checked around to see if there were any boulders he could use to help block it, but couldent find any convinient ones.

"Be careful, fields are good places to be spotted easily in." He warned before following after Mozz.

"They sure don't make 'em like they used to, 'eh?"

Grinning wide, he craned his head up, staring at the mill as he finally was free of the forest. Staring all around, his little victory was shortlived as he was reminded of the disrepair rampant.

The riverbed was dead and had been for some time now.

"...." Running a hand through his hair, hat held in the other hand, he continued walking forward, moving into a short jog now.

With one kick he violently shoved aside several pieces of rotted floorboard and wooden beams.

He stared down, slightly relieved but not all surprised to actually discover that everything was still here. Looking behind him just once more to actually make sure, he then knelt into the small cavity on the ground and examined the items in question.

The bike was still intact, it's engine and fuel designed to support natural sunlight, and it's tires refitted to gain traction "offroad".

However, the bike still had a limited amount of fuel, as any extended use during the night would of course render it useless.

Sligging the large black pack across one shoulder, he tossed back up to the floor, before actually getting the bike out of the cavity and to the floor as well.

Climbing up and out, he began by wheeling the around, before getting to the contents of the bag.

Stripping out of his clothes, he dumped the "gritty attire" and began giving his body a light wipe down, before changing into different clothing.

Black, fingerless gloves for both hands, with black bandages around both biceps. He slung on a pair of hip hugging jeans and strapped his greaves on top of that. A simple purplish blue vest went over his chest, with the belt holding his Fang in place at the back of his waist going around to secure the jeans.

Over that entire thing, he threw on a large coat that had been supplied to him along with the other "company" items.

Whiel seemingly layered in many buckles, the thing was promised to provide some degree of protection, while still looking stylish.

Stepping to the side and turning a bit, the only side of the coat to actually hang went swishing.

Grabbing a thick helmet from the ground, along with a small pouch he straddled the bike itself now. Yellowed eyes narrowed a bit as he considered the lamenated sheet in front of him.

It was a top-down sat-view of the surround region.

On it was marked various routes and locations, with several back-door trails amrked out in text and other misc. notes.

There was nothing overly detailed about the Mining Camp or the Shades location of course. Just basic geological data, and locations that were know to the public.

His first destination of course, as told by Yaits upon coming in...

"The people are thirsty. They have no man that can turn water into wine for them. So I want you to turn wood into water for me."

"Yea, yea... Here comes the rain."

Strapping the pouch in under his coat and along his waist, he pulled the helmet on, and slapped the visor down, staring forward before actually starting the bike up.

...

With a thunderous crash, the side of the wind mill's ground floor wall exploded outward, as the motorcycle pushed through, skidding in a tight circle before heading straight back into the forest itself, coat billowing behind him like a broken wing.

The mill flooded when the river grew out of its banks. Everything inside became soggy.

Mozz arrived in on his surfboard ditching it has he made a leap for shore. Almost being dragged away by the current Mozz barely manages to pull himself form the water bank. After a moment of catching his breathe he starts in a mad dash towards the village.

And floating down the flooded, overfilled river, was a not particularly shiny object.

Pulled along quickly by raged waters, it jammed firmly between the bank and bridge, sticking out above the water and staying in place as the flow calmed gradually.

What was this? Oh, a used dirt bike, how convinient!

Only, inspection would find it was going to take some effort to pull it out, besides the fact that the thing's keys were missing and it had just taken a swim.

Oh yeah.

And it was pretty beat up, full of dents and dings. Poor autovehicle.

At Jacknife's first sight of the mill he stopped. "Damn... Thats some pretty beastly defences." He muttered. Jacknife shouted up to the mill to be sure he had whoever was defending it's attention. "I'm Alan Jacknife. I'm on your side." He said, letting his weapons fall to his sides and spreading his arms. "As you can see, Mozz is my buddy too. I'm going to come in now and reinforce your position a bit." He said. He waited a moment before venturing towards the mill.

As he stepped into the Mill after passing through the maze of moss... kinda creepy... ok, just downright wrong... Anyway, he smelled the air inside the old beat up mill. "Ah, the smell of old soggy wood. It actually smells pretty nice and peaceful... kinda." He shook hands with the villagers in the mill, a decent bunch of people. He had half a mind to just set up and rock out in here for awhile.

Half his mind convinced the other half and he walked over to plop himself down on the floor and lean against one of the walls, chating amiably with the posted gaurds.

Jacknife wandered about the mill, checking out the back entrance. "This place is pretty ratty, but she'll..." He trailed off as he noticed a motorbike lodged against the bank of the river. "Well, thats convinient." He reached down and tried to tug it up but it wouldent move. "Bah, stuck." He muttered. He stood next to the bike and considered for a moment. Jacknife walked around the bike as far as he could and bent down so he could get his hands in where the bike was stuck. "Okay... so... if I do this and this..."
