Sometimes I am just dumb when it comes to stuff that has to do with talking about something I've done a thousand times.

It's kind of frustrating when the five hundreth person comes in and says "dude, like, I don't know how to scan a document..." and acts like you have to do it for them because computers are alive and will try to bite your fingers off.

Regardless of the fact that there is a big, step by step guide GLUED to the top of the scanner.

Regardless of the fact that there is a big folder on the desktop called "SCANNING SOFTWARE" when they log in.

They STILL act like I have to do it for them.

So sometimes I'm a bit testy at them.

What is worse is the people who bring food into the lab and obviously try to sneak it because they think I can't see them munching away.

There are HUGE SIGNS all over the lab with a big "NO FOOD OR DRINKS" label on it, with a picture of apples, burgers, and a coffee cup. No, dumbasses, it doesn't mean you just can't bring in coffee, apples, and cheeseburgers. It means you CANNOT EAT FOOD IN THE LABS.

Oh right, and another thing, I've heard the "good news" five hundred times. If being a Christian means bothering me into saying "FINE I'LL CONVERT JUST SHUT UP ABOUT IT" then you're not really doing your Christian duty. You're just a car salesman pimping for God.

Although I try to avoid it, I occassionally put my foot in my mouth, those that know me well, know all my blunders...

You'd be surprised of how many threads people bring up on me, to try and make me ashamed...but then, I just rape their virtual a**, or take a stab at their values if they do.

Actually, Vyce, you really didn't make as much of a d**k of yourself as you think. Here's why:

1) The author of that thread overlooked all definitions of "slang" which didn't suite her needs. Slang can also refer to terms that are used by a particular group of people, such as commoners, thieves, etc. "Boob" as "breast" falls into common slang. However, it would not come up under most searches because it is vulgar slang, or a swear word, even if low-level. This, however, is not a particularly efficient way of deciding what should not be included as part of the English language.

For instance, take the word "********". "********" has been around for over 500 years, and is generally an integral part of the English language. Yet, if you were ever to find it in a dictionary, it would be labelled "vulgar slang". This is obviously not because it is a popular coinage intended for brief use, which is the definition the author of that thread uses for slang. It is rather because of the obscenity of the word that "********" remains slang.

Contrarily, the word "normalcy", which is the equivalent of a Busherism coined in the '20s, is defined as a real word, when it really was just a mispeak by a president.

2) "Boob", as the author of the thread defined it, is also slang.

3) Slang is an integral part of any language, and to suggest to remove it is utterly absurd. Y'know what English is? Really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really slangy old German. Every language in existance today exists in its current form because of the encorporation of slang. By its very nature, language always expands or changes, and there is almost always a new word to be found. If that thread-maker wanted a language without slang, she would have to go back to caveman grunts. Literally.

4) Realistically, the most important definition of a word is the vulgar one. Note the irony: I use vulgar with its original definition of "common", rather than "crude" or "offensive".

I think there was more I wanted to say, but I can't quite remember. Well, I think that's sufficient, anyways.

Anyways, yes, I have made stupid posts as well. I mean, I was 14 when I first came on, and I can't deny my n00bishness, at first. But, age is not an excuse, age is not an excuse.

On the bright side, I've improved. And, quite frankly, most people seem a little n00bish when they first join.

Yeah, I was in a sarcastic mood, so I exaggerated a little lot. English was originally German-based, though, and the outside influences from various invasions just enrich it further.

At least, I think that's the way it is. Meh, maybe I'm wrong. But the way languages work, with invasions, etc., they've all gotten a little bit mushed together.

I beg to differ, especially when your mom goes "Hey, what is that?! And whatever it is, it does NOT go in there!"
