Charles sighed tiredly. This he didn't like. Quite honestly, he couldn't think of anyone else who was going to like this, but with Flashcharge out of comission for awhile, the petty villains not just in his area, but in several places, were taking advantage. Flashcharge was still in the hospital and, despite his obstinance, would not be able to get out for several weeks. Darebone could only do so much on her own. Photon...Photon had been refusing to do anything for years and couldn't be counted on.
That was what this meeting about, guardians and children separated. He had sent an urgent enough message out that all should be present. He had already braced himself for the responses, not expecting anything good from this.
He addressed the children first.
"As you know, Flashcharge has had an accident. He will not be able to fight for a long time. This is a lot earlier than we'd anticipated, but we have decided that you are ready to go and begin to fight some of the villains around the country," he quickly went on, not wanting to allow time for the outburst, "We will be pairing you up in groups, and you will always have at least two trained soldiers with you, but we need your abilities. It is time to apply your training. Are there any concerns?"
He almost visibly winced, waiting for the outbursts. He would have rather gone on in more detail, but he knew it would be futile at this point, seeing how excited some of the children had gotten.
((Note that this is an actual mission with actual danger and actual villains. And you do have the option to refuse. wink So you know. ))

Malcolm had never been too close to Flashcharge. He only knew the guy from the last training session, and didn't even get the chance to fight with him. All in all, the kid wasn't too upset that everyone's hero had been hurt. He sat with his shaggy brown hair over his eyes, biting at his stubby fingernails. Seeing the other children's expressions, he probably should have felt bad, but Malcolm rarely pitied anybody he didn't know personally.
This being the case, he perked up when Charles mentioned another training session. The last one hadn't gone too well, and while he still hadn't improved too much since then, Malcolm wanted another chance to prove himself. Hopefully this time it would be outside...

Megan hadn't had the chance to complain and squirm about this. Her guardian hadn't told her where they were going and on the ride over had been so scared-looking and solemn, that Megan didn't dare to complain when she found out what was going on. It seemed like something REALLY bad had happened.
Her mouth dropped open at Charles' announcement.
They had to go fight people? Really truly? Bad people... that was...
Her mouth was loud and squeaky when she spoke, "You mean like beat bad guys up and stuff? But I thought we WERE bad already!" She never had quite got through her had that being a mutant didn't make you evil be default.

Erol yawned casually the whole idea of having a meeting was boring, and with Charles no less. Probably wanted to get everyone together for another training session. Not that he minded so much, it was a good source of exercise and showing off.
Despite the slack in his personal training with his guardian, he felt he was up to part, confident enough to know he'd keep Akila safe if it meant fighting.
As he settled in and actually listened to what was going on, he sat up straight the nonchalant act leaving him. Was Charles really asking that they take up where the heroes could not. Was this his window of chance.
"Hell yeah! I'll do it..." he said without missing a beat. "So when do we get started?" he offered maybe the other kids were concerned for their safety but Erol wasn't worried about that he wanted to get out in the feild and really do some damage all this waiting made him wonder if working with the Alliance would be a better option. He shook his head of those thoughts it was because of the Alliance that he may get a chance no need to go that far in thought, sides Akila would be disappointed in him.

Raleigh was currently feeling the extent of his boredom. Upon news of there being a meeting, Ruriska had immediately banned Yasuo and the newest addition, which had yet to gain a name besides Runt, from coming. She had done it hoping that he'd pay attention, even just a little, but it hadn't worked very well at all. Yawning, Raleigh went back to staring at the wall.
It was because of this that Raleigh was somewhat slow in catching onto what Charles had been talking about. "Wha...?" He began and then stopped but then fell silent. The young super considered his options momentarily, feeling somewhat miffed that Erol had beaten him at saying yes.
"Of course I'll do it."
This was his chance to prove himself, there was no way he'd back down and he knew Ruri would support him in this,when she found out, though she might decide to argue with someone just for the hell of it. Sitting back in his chair smugly, Raleigh crossed his arms over his chest and waited for this now not so boring meeting to end.
Edit Ooc: Ah, fixed it. XD Now I understand properly. Ruri is the uber suck. XP -goes to type her Ruri post-

Rachel looked up at Charles, eyes wide. They were going to do WHAT? Her breath caught in her throat and she felt the fear swell up. They had to fight? Really fight? Actual villains?
Sure, with all the training they had gone through.... She instinctively cringed and tried to not be there. She didn't want to. She did not want to.
But she had to. What other choice did she have? Especially with him out there.
She felt sick. And scared. She felt so scared that she was actually shivering in fear.
Still shivering, she whimpered before looking back up at Charles, eyes big in fear, tears in the corners of them before nodding slowly.

Lorina fidgeted in her seat, pulling her legs from out under her. She looked between the other children, then focused on Erol. She grinned weakly as he agreed to it, then look back at her hands. It Erol could do it, so could she! She then raised her green eyes again to look at the other two girls, watching them momentarily, before turning to Charles, and nodding her head.
Lorina knew she could do it. Of course she could. She was, after all, Lorina. Thus, she was great. She grinned proudly to herself, then looked back at Erol, and smiled warmly, giving off a bit of a giggle. She hoped she would be grouped with Erol. No, she knew she would be. She turned back to Charles, and nodded her head again,
"Yeah! I'll do it. Of course."
Lorina didn't spare a thought to what Airaka would think of the matter. The woman would have to support her, no matter what.

After zoning out into space for a moment, it finally dawned on Malcolm that this wasn't just another training session. It was an actual field mission. Deep down, yes - he was afraid. But there was no way he would show that on the outside. Instead, he kept calm, and crossed his arms over his chest.
Butterflies slowly grew in his stomach as he began to think about what they would all be doing - fighting villains. But how? They were just kids! No way the Agency would them in that much danger!
Malcolm took a glance around at the other guys. Raleigh and Erol were lookin' cool...not even a hint of fear. The girls, on the other hand...(but that was to be expected). He didn't want to be the only wimpy one. He needed to prove...certain attributes...to a specific person. So, rather than slouching down in his chair and waiting for the meeting to be over, he sat up straight and blurted out to Charles - "So when do we start?"

Charles smiled at those who jumped onto the opportunity, nodding to first to Erol, and chuckling a little at Malcolm's blurt. He especially liked their enthusiasm, "As soon as possible. We'll set up a rotating team so everyone gets a chance to get out fairly."
As he spoke, he went over to kneel beside Rachel, putting a hand on her shoulder, "It'll be ok," he said quietly in his break before addressing the others. He swallowed, pausing before addressing the others. Rachel reminded him that these were just children, and he might be signing their death warrent. If they had been his children, he... Charles hardened himself to that though, though he unconsciously looked protective right now.
He looked at Raleigh, noting a little tension with him, though he offered both him and Lorina a smile, "You four really are going to make good supers. Always ready. That's what it takes."
Megan, though. She was the only one he gave a frown to, "Who gave you that idea? We're not bad. We're trying to help against the Villians. Don't you want to help that, and be on our side?" She had better... If she turned out like Novara... Maybe he should consider... No, now wasn't the time to think of it. He had to be sure, instill confidence into these kids, make them want to go out and help. That's what he needed to concentrate on right now.

"We'll, *I'm* not bad. You just are," Megan said defiantly, although she looked uncertain of that last part of the statement. Sitting there by Rachel like that, Charles didn't really look all that bad... And he was less scary when he was kneeling and smiling. And she'd been wrong about others before.
She folded her arms at his question, her answer had been a momentary way not to respond to him, had been back in her old way of bristling up and avoiding the real thing. But AriyaLauna was good a demanding a direct answer, and had at least taught Megan to do that much.
"Are we going to have to stop Avalanche?" she asked. She wanted to side with the boys. She didn't want Erol and Raleigh thinking she was a sissy, she wasn't a sissy, but Avalanche was REAL scary. AriyaLauna and her trainers had also taught her that it was ok to be scared sometimes. She looked really worried, "He almost killed Flashcharge. I don't want to fight Avalanche. He can have stupid Cairo. It's just all sand anyway."

Charles frowned a little more at Megan's first statement, but he waited momentarily as he saw her fighting even with that.
"No, Megan, you won't have to fight Avalanche. You just have to be with some police officers and help them out. That way you use what you've learned in training on real bad guys. They'll do all they can to protect you and keep you from being hurt, and you'll have one of the other kids to help you too."

Though he did give Charles a smirk when he looked his way, of course he was going to do it, get out of this stuffy place and use his powers for what they were made for. He watched Megan closely she had a shy personality that or being defiant. Which ever he wasn't too found of her brattiness or wimpiness. Oh God don't side her with me, I'll just kill the both of us to save time.. he thought sardonically shaking his head as he turned to look elsewhere in the room.

Raleigh was slightly nervous, but he kept to well hidden. And bottled up that fear inside until he didn't even realize it was there. He would do what he had to do. Staring at the floor, Raleigh made himself look as bored as possible. There would be others with him, helping him fight, and Yasuo would always be beside him. So there was no true reason not to do this.
Megan was very worried. Raleigh sighed, he might have spent Christmas with her but he wasn't about to try make her feel better. She was alone with this. Tapping his foot on the ground, Raleigh hoped that this meeting would be over soon. He wanted to get out of there, and start saving the world.
Him, a poor abandoned child, save the world? Raleigh nearly started laughing.
