General preferences:
I am quite picky about doing battles because I don’t enjoy them much so I prefer to hammer out how they’re going to go ahead of time and just connect the dots with the posts.
Flirty fun RP is a good time and I always enjoy it but I don’t really do ship RP unless it happens by mistake, and Joy’s got a long-term ship plot already going, so she’s not really available for it! Casual dating RP etc. is always welcome, though biggrin
I try not to get too involved with overarching metaplot things unless they are things my character is on the periphery of - I don’t like to have too firm a hand in ongoing plots or be in a situation where I’m being relied on to move a plot forward unless it’s just for one or two specific people for specific reasons, so I’d prefer to avoid that! I don’t like to have “important” characters etc. and prefer to operate on the fringes biggrin
I am generally quite bad at meet-n-greet style RP and struggle profoundly unless you have a specific topic for them to discuss! That doesn’t mean I can’t do a meet-n-greet, just that I prefer some structure or vector for interaction to be worked out beforehand.
99% of the time I tag very, very quickly but I am in no hurry if you can’t do the same! I am extremely chill.

JOYEUSE GARDE/Elaine Carlislegaia_crown Powered:
- A bit of a lone wolf Earth Knight. Strongly anti-Chaos but also not at all pro-Order. Interested in other people’s Wonders and has a standing Connections ad asking to be shown around. Especially interested in connecting with other Knights with a strong relationship of any kind with their ghosts, where applicable.
Ideas:
- Battles and spars - cautiously open to these but I tend to not like them much so I am perhaps not the most useful for them. However, your character + Joy vs. a Youma (to get that requirement knocked out or just for fun!) I am always down for, every time! She will tend to not directly confront Chaos unless they are actively draining or starseed yanking, in which case she pretty much can’t help herself.
Wonder tourism and meeting other ancestor ghosts to discuss their unlives with them
Connecting with Knights who have her strongly anti-Order ideas or, conversely, those who disagree with her strongly, so they can fight about it, lol
She hates being a mentor figure but will not just leave someone hanging, so I think it’s quite funny to throw new Knights at her and force her to be Helpful
She finds the Vanguard quite fascinating and is always down to talk to more of them, as she sees a lot of similarities between them and Knights
Chaos clears - cautiously open to these as well! It’s probably the one place in which Joy feels actively philanthropic and willing to volunteer her time in the face of danger.
gaia_crown Civ:
- Elaine is always busy! She would have connections with the nightlife, especially Clubs of a Certain Inclination, but she also is a part-time gig driver and dog mom so those are also good avenues to meet. Also, she loves to go antiquing, she’s great at digging up s**t online in a slightly worrying “are you a stalker” kind of way, and she loves to flirt and date as much as possible, although her tastes are for older men which I recognize is not an overpopulated demographic in ITNOTM lol.
Ideas:
- Casual dating! People of any gender, 24+.
She drives Uber, if you've got a character who'd take one
Late night life in Destiny City - nightclubs (especially of the subculture variety), all night diners, being drunk girls together
Her Work is more of the specialist kind but she will occasionally be asked to tag along to an upper middle-class to-do or business function as a plus-one
She's a big reader especially of antiquities and especially medieval history and literature so she can often be found at the public and university libraries
gaia_crown Past Life:
- Joy has no past life to speak of, but as a Descended knight she'd love to meet people who knew the previous Garde, as she is intensely fascinated by his life and he has shared very little of it. I would be open to discussing this! He had quite a bit of contact with other Knights and even some Senshi, and would especially have had connections to any kind of Wonder that was dedicated to warfare, peacekeeping, etc.

MAUS/Kay Littleemotion_bandaid Powered:
- Recently purified, doing a bit of self-destructive spiraling and disaster courting. Feels a bit like he has something to prove, even to himself, but is also wary of engaging with Chaos due to his spotty memories of what he himself did when working for them.
Ideas:
- Battles and spars - cautiously open to these! Maus likes to fight but I find them hard to write. Fist fights are more his speed. He fights dirty.
Getting to know his new life - Maus is a big fan of Networking and this extends to his powered life as well. He would like to hear other people’s POV on being powered, on Chaos, on purifying, etc.
He is no evangelist and isn't out to convert people but fence-sitting Chaos members can get his very rare honesty (maybe with some manipulation thrown in...) about the entire thing, which might help or hurt their cause, depending. He wants people to purify like he did but he doesn't think it's his job to convince them.
He is TERRIFIED of cats so interaction with Mauvians would be funny probably.
He's recently started being harassed by one of those little wisp things and is very confused. Maybe your character can enlighten him - or just commiserate with their own confusion over their own wisp?
emotion_bandaid Civ:
- Kay is a slacker at work (at a thrift store) but does have that as a means to meet people. He’s also keen on UrbEx and getting into places he shouldn’t be, both powered and unpowered. He’s extremely chatty (although less than he used to be, he’ll open back up eventually) and will strike up a conversation with literally anyone about anything.
Ideas:
- I am wide open on this since he’s pretty easy to work around if you have a jumping off point in mind!
His workplace is very popular and could be a nexus for interaction. He has a reputation for helping mend/repair clothes cheaply on the side if work isn't too busy, so word could get around if you've got a sweater that needs mending or something and they could chat while he does it on the spot.
He also frequents those "buy by the pound" closeout thrift places.
He's currently on a self-destructive hedonism spiral and crashing as many parties as possible for food + whatever else he can get.
He will flirt with anyone. He doesn't expect anything to come of it. He's just doing it on principle.
He’s very Helpful. Are you trying to get something heavy upstairs? Need to carry a big bag and would like a second pair of hands? Kay to the rescue!
Does your character work at a pet store? Please for the love of god let him hold a mouse. He misses his mice so much. Even a rat would do. A hamster. A bunny. Anything.

ALEKTO/Clover Argentoemotion_zombie Powered:
- Still figuring this out, and saddled with a crazy Mauvian to awaken her, so she feels like she got thrown in headfirst. As a consequence, any non-lethal magical interaction is now super super fun!
Ideas:
- Battles and spars - cautiously open to these! Alekto is a little afraid of fighting unless it goes super well for her - whether it does or goes sideways for her we can discuss! I am less interested in spars than actual battles with people her own size, or possibly getting spooked by people much stronger than her and managing to escape.
Learning about her new allies - she hasn't met many Knights and would also like to meet a Mauvian who is less insane.
Teaming up against a Youma - even if it doesn't count for a battle requirement, she is really enjoying dispatching monsters a LOT.
emotion_zombie Civ:
- Clover is always at local auditions. She may be recognized by lifelong Destiny City residents who have a very good memory as a small child who starred in a now-viral local commercial campaign where she portrayed a summer camp victim being portrayed by The Price Slasher, where her catchphrase of ARGH, SLASHED AGAIN took off.
She doesn't like to be recognized for this.
Ideas:
- If your character is VERY VERY MUCH a horror buff or working in local indie productions they may be vaguely aware of her. Even more likely, they may be aware of her grandmother, a cult classic but very underground horror actress in her youth.
Clover worked at a local haunted house this past Halloween. Maybe she scared the s**t out of your character and they have a bone to pick? Or maybe she failed miserably to...
Any other ideas hit me up I'm desperate here.
