Umbra always felt a little out of place in her family. All her siblings looked mostly like their mom, but she was born with sleek, dark fur, and piercing red eyes. This always made her wonder who her father really was. The Starcharter, Sirius, wasn't actually her father, but she felt like she had a connection to him somehow, and not just because of their resemblence. ((Eventually she learned who her father is but she still felt more connected to Sirius.))
As a cub, she loved to play and have fun, but her favorite thing was to learn about the Starborne and the cosmos. Even as a cub, she was so fascinated with the vast night sky and the mysteries it held. She loved to lay on her back and trace patterns in the stars, although she hadn't learned any of the constellations yet. She had a very vivid and creative imagination. She would make up stories about distant places or other worlds to tell to her siblings. Sometimes she could be found staring up into the heavens, as if she were listening to the universe whisper to her. Her curiosity about celestial bodies is matched only by her playful nature and vast thirst for knowledge.
As she got older, she focused more of her time on studying the culture and history of the Starclan and trying to figure out where she fit within the clan. She aspired to be useful, putting her ever growing knowledge to work for the clan. She felt drawn towards becoming a lorekeeper. She felt it is a truly important role and she wanted to help preserve the knowledge and information that the clan as a whole had discovered.
