As far as the situation, I mean they're aware they're being looked for. And yes, they kidnapped and tortured someone, badly and apparently ineffectually. If they'd been doing it right it would have yielded some actual useful intel, but it didn't, so all they did was waste time and enrage some people they apparently shouldn't have enraged. If they'd been smart they would have just killed the guy.

You don't have to like it. But this is, you know, a war, according to some people at least. I don't plan on torturing anyone, but if it comes down to you or me doing that then let's hope we don't screw it up that badly.

tbh my advice is to stop thinking of it as us vs. them and start thinking of it as people who treat civs like game pieces and cattle and those who don't. That way your conscience doesn't get all icky if one of "us" does something you don't like. But do whatever you think is best.

Vaguely but probably not in any way you'll find useful. Because, you know, the us vs. them stuff and me not thinking that's a great way to think about things. I'm an independent agent and I don't care to be more.

We're not "good guys," for ******** sake. We got conscripted. We're not even a "we." Do you think every conscript is a righteous soldier? We're as good as we decide to be. If torture worked I'd say torture everyone who goes around yanking starseeds until the stalemate's over and we can all hang up the signet rings and be done with it. I'm only opposed to it because it doesn't work.

I don't know. I'd say ask them, but I think knowing Hy-Brasil is a liability right now, and I don't think Grieve was part of the whole interrogation thing, unless I'm mistaken. I can think of some useful things. Names, workplaces, that kinda thing. Work rosters, longterm strategy. Use your imagination.

1. Torturing people who murder people isn't the same as torturing some guy on the sidewalk who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, but you go ahead and play your moral equivalency games if you want.
2. If you think you can convince the entirety of the Negaverse to stop murdering people all by your lonesome, again, be my guest. I am not really open to negotiating with a bunch of people where twenty some years of stalemate has failed to get it done.
