Fencing has been a sport Hanako once participated out of boredom and somehow managed to stick to all through schooling. He attends a bi-weekly class just to make sure his skills don’t get too rusty. His fighting style includes overwhelming his opponents ferocious jabs, aiming to take them out faster before they realise he’s really bad at defending.
Tea Brewing is a nostalgic hobby for Hanako. What started out with his grandmother teaching him traditional japanese tea ceremonies, grew into an interest in different plants, herbs, flowers that could drastically change the flavors of tea, and resulted in occasional bursts of motivation to throw tea parties despite the lack of friends for it. So he makes solo tea parties instead. Hanako makes time in his schedule to instill the tranquillity and discipline of tea ceremonies and trying out different tea recipes alone. It takes a lot for him to share this moment with others.
Flirting because Hanako thrives on surface level relationships. Often loving the usual reactions he gets from it. From absolute disgust, or an embarrassed flush. Flirting ensures most people understand he is only here in the present for a good time, not a long time. The second he feels someone is starting to get attached to him, he withdraws. His toxic trait is that he keeps wanting to do it. This makes him a frequent visitor to places like bars and clubs on occasion.
Snakes, because he had grown up keeping snakes as household pets and grew an attachment towards them. He has a soft spot for reptiles, snakes in particular. He often argues that snakes are ‘ evidently undoubtably cuter than cats’. Because he believes in it, and also maybe because he likes to piss off cat lovers.
Virtues:Playful - Hanako easily finds fun and humour in most things. Often amusing others with his words and occasional dramatic flairs. This gives him confidence to be comfortable in the spotlight. Able to work through a situation even if it's diabolically embarrassing.
Flexible - Hanako doesn’t stay still nor stuck if he can help it. Having the capability in him to look around his surroundings and try to make the best of things most of the time. He tends to open his mind to new things, different perspectives, and experiences.
Perfectionist - Despite the careless words that often escape his mouth, he’s careful when it comes to organising, neatness, and working. He is the type to have no issue practicing over and over again until he got something right if he truly wanted to.
Flaws:Vain - It’s very easy to tell Hanako cares for his appearance. As if being a model wasn’t enough of an indicator, Hanako doesn’t hide how much he likes the way he looks. Often referring to himself as ‘handsome’ or ‘good-looking’ with confidence that most can’t disagree with him. He carefully picks his clothes, hair, and occasionally experiments with different make-up and styles. He is the type to grin at his own reflection even when passing by window displays of stores. He gets distracted when others shower him with compliments related to his appearance.
Emotionally Reserved - Though he has the capacity to be loving, it’s a hard road to get him to open up when it comes to emotions. He tends to react negatively to deeper conversations and be reluctant to solidify a bond through either action or conversations. It makes him fearful when he starts to like someone, as it means to him that the other has more control in the situation to break him apart if they wanted to. He is a difficult person to react maturely in emotionally heightened situations.
Liar - He is completely okay with being a shameless liar if that means he gets to be safe from harm and danger. Whether he gets away with it depends on the situation and person. However, he is willing to contradict his values and act like a different person if he needed to. This includes doing actions that deem him the villain in the scenario, despite going against what he would have ‘liked’ to do, if he believed it was necessary. The ends justify the means.
