Hated Food: “Italian food” ; he is a food snob and makes a big deal about how bad ‘americanized’ food is. He’ll eat it, but he’s dramatic about it and has to remind you that ‘that’s not real pizza’. He struggles with fermented food, sardines, and the texture of scrambled eggs.
School/Occupation: Azure Valley Academy
Hobbies: Baseball -- Cassidy used to play baseball because his parents thought a sport would be good for him, but after a car accident left him with shoulder trauma, he had to give up playing on a team. He can still play for fun but he’ll claim he was never interested in the sport and only signed up because his parents made him. Despite this, he does still play when he can, though he struggles to adapt to a new playstyle and has to be careful about hurting his shoulder. He will support his teammates (loudly) from the bleachers and is very supportive, although he is not shy about offering criticism and suggestions. Though not officially part of the team anymore, he will still try to sucker them into letting him tag along with them during practice and other events.
Tennis -- Though the damaged rotator cuff and labral tear sustained in his accident prevents him from making successful overhead shots, Cassidy has found a way to play tennis that is less stressful. He started with badminton but wanted something a bit more conventional. He is still learning to play with his non-dominant hand but his technique allows him to still be a strong competitor while minding his injuries. He doesn’t really care about winning as much as he cares about playing but he still enters in competitions. He also likes the excuse to wear skorts and thinks the outfit is flattering. He lives in a gated community and casually plays with a group of middle aged women there that he charmed while he was still in a cast.
Social Media -- While injured and healing, there was very little Cassidy could do for long enough that he relied on social media to keep in contact and live vicariously through people. He was never shy about documenting things and while he is vain and egotistical, he was not embarrassed about anything so probably shared more than he needed to. While it kept him in contact with his friends, it also gained him a moderate number of followers across a few platforms. He is more open with his friends on SnapChat but is always on Twitter or Instagram oversharing or commenting.
Virtues: Independent -- Cassidy is used to operating on his own so can handle things solo. He is very eager to learn how to do things for himself so he doesn’t have to rely on others. He doesn’t need a lot of hand-holding or excessive direction; he can operate under loose parameters and is comfortable making his own decisions and carving his own path. He can get along with others well but he is still comfortable making and sticking by his own decisions. He doesn’t bend to peer pressure and is content to walk his own path.
Clever -- It’s usually pretty easy for Cassidy to pick up new things and ideas. If something doesn’t stick, he is always quick to pursue an alternate learning method until he understands it. He spends a lot of energy absorbing information and looking for solutions. He is capable of following procedure or thinking outside the box. He is observant and always looking for clues from others to factor into his decisions. He is quick to observe and make decisions.
Adaptable -- Cassidy is not exactly a creature of habit. He sometimes gets bored in the mundane and will often seek out new places and experiences. He seems comfortable in any situation or environment and if something isn’t working, he’s flexible enough to take a new route. He himself is durable and shakeable, but he is quick to adapt to difficult or new situations and good at going with the flow while being true to himself.
Confident -- Unafraid of failure, Cassidy is willing to try anything. He believes in himself and his abilities and even failure won’t slow him down. He can acknowledge failure and shortcomings and uses this as a tool to identify where he needs to improve, but seeing flaws or weaknesses doesn’t seem to bring him down. There’s room for improvement, and he sees that as the first step of getting better. He gets a little better after every failure so he doesn’t really feel like he’s lost. He believes in himself and seems to have endless self-esteem. He sees the big picture and doesn’t let the hiccups and bumps deter him.
Flaws: Blunt -- Cassidy could benefit from keeping a few more of his thoughts to himself. Sometimes he has difficulty wording things in a polite manner, or he just blurts out the first thing that comes to mind. He’s
aware of this flaw but he doesn’t believe in side stepping a problem or sugarcoating things all the time. Even if he doesn’t have bad intentions, his honesty can sometimes feel barbed.
Relentless -- Once Cassidy sets his eyes on something, he pursues it relentlessly. He can come across as pushy or unwavering, and in the worst case, obsessed. He fixates on things and will do everything in his power to achieve his goals. This can be overwhelming or off putting, and because he tends to be vocal it can be annoying to have to listen to him.
Distant -- For as chatty and social as Cassidy can be, he also tends to be distant. He puts a large part of his life on display but when it comes to anything
important it feels like he’s put up walls to keep people out. Sometimes it can feel as though he’s disinterested in others’ problems or like he’s just generally bored and detached. It can come across as selfish and arrogant.
Sarcastic -- Cassidy doesn’t seem to take much
seriously and he regularly has something sarcastic to say. While the sarcasm isn’t usually directed
at friends, it can make it difficult to tell when he’s being serious about something. He can come across as facetious, and his flippant takes can be frustrating or poorly timed.
