Info Daughter of Ushiwa and Saeruin Sibling to Daanu, Kechiri, Elaxi, Ushiruin and Saewulf.
Lives in Matori with her family practicing the family business of beast charming. It is what enchants her everyday life and she is ambitious and competitive. She wants to best her sister in particular in fame in glory and especially in her fathers eyes. (Ushiwa loves all his kids equally).
Likes: shiny colorful stones, crafting, drama Dislikes: You, unplanned weather problems, beasts she wants that escape her.
Haughty - She is aware that her whole family is beautiful and herself in particular. She knows that on her Grandads side at least they came from noble blood no matter how his parents didnt adhere to it. Blood is blood.
Fierce - A quick fighter with not all that much forethought to action of yet she is a smack first ask questions later type of gal. Driven by ambition and the occassional temperamental rage.
Loyal - Pretty self explanatory. Once you have earned her friendship she is excellent in a pinch. You might have to put up with a bit of drama and don't cross her but so long as that is good you will have a friend.
Vain - Again she is very very proud of her rarer (in the family) hair inherited from Granny Nin. She also got her parents good looks and knows it.
(To be added too, I'm hoping she will have a few more positive aspects soon enough with enough uh suffering in the field.)

She looked eagerly out at the snaptrotter pair that she had selected as a project she had requested from Dad. She wanted a pet and she was not allowed to have a janarim quite yet, they were just a bit too big but a snaptrotter raised from a hatchling by her was deemed suitable. She could have a janarim when she was a bit older. She was allowed a Keldari if she went with her brother to yael to catch one. Also a fair deal, she wasn't sure when she would be able to call in that favor, Yael was an interesting place for most people in general never mind someone so young dealing with the toxins there. The answer was again when she was older. Sigh. Oh well. This project was going well and the snaptrotter would be her first and most loyal pet. Maybe it would eat the people that she didn't like, that would be nice. Seathra had no patience for people she didn't deem worthy of her time. Which was most people so far. Her family seemed a ok and she hadn't met too many others yet, though the ranch her family lived on was a busy place. She fell into the rythym of ranch life like she had been born to it. She was a farmer through and through and she learned the beast charming ways from her father. Soon she would work with him and the janarim. She was so excited. Critters in their myriad forms, brought her joy in ways that people so far just couldn't. Animals didn't judge you based on appearance or intelligence they judged you based on your vibe and what you at that point represented to the world at large.
Soon sister would return from her latest stint at sea and Seathra could challenge her again for her title of pirate queen. She hadn't been doing to hot in that department lately. Kechi had handily won every time. But Seathra would not cease until she had wrestled the glory and fame from her sister. She too would rule the seas, her critters by her side, no longer a princess but a QUEEN. Then the world would bow before her and she would be loved by her people. Seathra sighed deeply and contentedly as she imagined her fantasy life that she knew deep down was far fetched but she was having fun playing make believe, though she would definitely be competing with her sister when she was older, this was a certainty. Sister Elaxi was too sweet to be much of a threat, so that left Kechiri as the main target and also one of the hardest. She had been trained for combat by dad after all and Dad was the fastest of the brothers. Seathra looked like Kechiri to an extent except she had been blessed with her grandma Nin's gorgeous hair, she along with two of her aunts. The rest of the family had seemed to either get her granddads blue ice hair or her mother's dark blue with a few other rare colors thrown in. It made the family relatively easy to recognize. She flicked her hair automatically, it made it ripple in waves and was quite pleasurable. As a child her parents were already wrapped around her and her brothers little fingers, she was pleased. Her siblings were all older except for Saewolf, they could mostly look after themselves. Thus she and her brother deserved lots and lots of attention which they got from everyone, so it really was not her fault that she was spoiled and loved it. She had her good points too, wherever they were. 612

Shape and Form Seathra leaned into the wind on the prow of her brother's ship. She loved being at sea, and she knew, like her kin, this was where she belonged. She too would sail a proud ship when she was older, she wasn't sure if she wanted to fight pirates or kinda be one. She supposed it would depend on what she wanted at the time. She shrugged. Morals were for the weak. She wondered if she would face her famous sister in a sea battle one day, and smirking she wondered who would come out on top. Her sister was a tough cookie and Seathra would have to learn tact and strategy from Ushiruin and Ushiwa. That way she might stand a chance. Kechiri would have all the years where she had to grow up to get practice, but she did wonder if Kechiri would retire to just be a mother after all of that progress. So weak. As a youngling she had no idea how time changed ones idea on what they wanted. For now she wanted it all, a ship, the sea at her beck and call and all the pets she could find.
Like her sis, all would know her name as well. She too had been born with her Father's ambitious nature and his good looks if she did say so herself, though Mama was of course beautiful in a dark side of the moon sort of way. Daddy's face was kissed by angels and she had gotten Grandma Nin's hair, she brushed it 200 times each night and it shone with health.
She was proud she was arrogant and she was often right. So what if she preened and took pride in her accomplishments. She wanted all of the attention.
This may change or it may not, she just wanted to discover all that life held for her. 312

Fall Harvest
Of all the festivals and holidays in tendaji, nothing meant more to her than the fall harvest. The garden had been the first place she felt she truly fit in. It was simple to follow the rules and keep up with the chores and barring vegetative predators all should be well. Until the end of the year well the end for gardeners, winter was more of a break period than anything else, when the harvest of fall came off the fields and right into the area competition pit or on the dinner table depending on which part you were more excited for. She personally was all about the ribbons and she worked hard with her vegetables to get them perfect for the contest. She rememebered when she was very small entering a radish and getting a blue ribbon. She had been so very pleased. And the concept and practice had stuck with her. This year she had entered quite a few pumpkins and tomatos, both were fun to grow and worked hard for their gardener, though squash had picky roots that didn't like to be disturbed and tomatos would flop right over and pretend they were dying if they didn't get enough water. Veggies were more dramatic than people tended to give them credit for. She thought they were stupid for not seeing what was directly in front of their long noses. It was the small things, the unnoticed things, the unobvious things that were important, those things were why she spent a few minutes every day just checking under leaves and below branches, just in case there was something that she and the other gardenders of her family had missed. She had plenty of resources to help. Syaa, her uncle was quite helpful and so fancy with all of that alk blood in him. Seathra might have had the tinyest crush. But could you blame her he knew everything about plants!
This year the judging had just finished and the announcements were about to be made. This was her first year growing pumpking and her first really successful year with tomatoes as she had expanded the amount she was growing this year, her mom and dad had helped her find new seeds that no one else in the valley had. They had connections everywhere. It was a bit like being the daughter to a royal family, in her own mind, they even had some noble blood from Grandpa though grandpa never used it. Grandpa preferred where he was, mini king of a growing empire of family and critters, trees, dirt and mud. More people should be like grandpa, so that people like herself and her father could conquer.
They were finally allowed back into the display hall and she walked swiftly to where all of her stuff was. Four first place! 3 Second place and a few thirds..plus the one Grand Pumpkin Champion. She had grown the largest and most uniform, giving her a few extra points, just enough to edge out the rest of her competition.
"Yes!" She pumped her fist. She had done well, she thanked the organizers and planned on where she would put her ribbons up in her room.
She wrote down who had won what in her notebook and put a parental hand on her big pumpkin. She couldn't wait to harvest all the seeds from it, dry them and begin again next year. Pumpkin was an important winter crop for Matori and there were worst things to practice growing. At least they would feed them over winter. There was a harvest to get back to at home. All of this socializing was one thing, but the important work of fall awaited her little green thumbs at home. Gods forbid anyone comment negatively in any perceived way on her produce. Unless it was rotten then they could whine, that wasn't her fault that was natures fault. 654

A Favorite Book
The cover was a thick dark leather, scuffed here and there, she could tell where people had tried to repair it before. Ink, water, weather, it looked like the old novel had seen it all. It was a family hierloom and she used it to help her fall to sleep at night time it was a rolicking good pirate book that had belonged to her father and her sister. Her Dad had nudged it toward her one day with a smile. "Your sister finally reliquinshed it back to me and if you are planning to follow the way of the sea, it is a good read. He had stood and went about his day. She could still remember the exact tone of his voice. She loved her Daddy with everything that she was.
She took it with her everywhere, a talisman for comfort and a cure for boredom. Plus it was a solid excuse to ignore the people that she simply just didn't feel like talking to at any given point in time. Seathra was a simple creature, in that way. Her patience for almost anything uninteresting was quite short, quite short indeed. A book extended that patience ten fold at least, so long as she didn't have to interact with the undesirables. It made her a quiet but difficult child at the best of times. A good punishment was actually to take the book away but her parents used that for when she was really really bad which wasn't often as she didn't often get caught at her hijinks. Her favorite people included her cousin Undine, tiny as he was she could see the spark of intelligence in his eyes and she hoped that he would be on her side. She was working on recruiting her brother to come with her against their eldest sister but so far he just laughed and shrugged off her concerns. Grrr, she clenched the book then smooth the cover as if apologizing. Little did she know that most of the wear had come from her sister reading it over and over again on every voyage.
It was time to start again. Reverently she opened the thick cover and admired the map and following art, the dedication of the author and all of the rest of it. Then she took a fat chunk of reading out of the first chapter, it was so satisfying to reread a favorite over and over and over again. It was like a world you could disappear into frequently and it was portable and could be read by candle or firelight a sustainable resource indeed. She sighed contentendly and draped herself in the chair dramatically after finishing her first favorite passage. The author had really known what they were doing to capture their audiences attention quite so thoroughly, a story that never got old, the perfect bedtime tale. And the perfect companion for long boring trips. She usually read as she rode whichever mount her Dad put her on. She was fearless and loved all creatures deeply. But she also loved books. She loved the self care required to do books right too. The tea, the blankie, the fire the ritual, the silence, the loosing oneself completely to situations you would not be exposed to otherwise. Books let her learn a bit more about the world before she dove into it, but there was also something to be said for just diving in yourself.
Anyway, it wouldn't take her long to finish this one again. Perhaps it was time to go in search of a new one soon. Daddy would take her to the bookstore if she asked she was sure. She could get Daddy to give her almost anything, not that she asked for too much.

Nightmare It started in the wee small hours of the morning, dark and stormy. The dream came in light like a butterfly but burning like a dragon on the way out. She was at sea the captain of her own ship, heading up in a three way battle with her siblings when a night dark tentacle that looked like one of Ushiruin's sideways fish creatures except a whole lot bigger and more squiddish. Anyway it wrapped its dark purple self with lilac suckers, (she remembered them distinctly), about that time she heard the creaking and then cracking of the timbers of her ship, the keel snapped like a gunshot, the backbone of her ship. She was flung up into the air, caught again and then dragged below the waves... she couldn't see, couldn't breath and deeper she sunk far below the waves and uh air.
The real her felt a deep dropping sensation and she woke up with a start and a startled indignant squawk. What an awful dream, where had that even come from. Her brother would never...ever...no matter how bad she was.. She shook her head and slid out of bed, padding down the hall she invaded the room of her sleeping parents, she crawled under the blankets near their feet and let her fathers deep breaths lull her to sleep. So long as he or Mama was around, she was safe, with both of them she was as safe as she could be from deep sea fishes.
She slowly drifted off and awoke much better the next morning, sunlight had a good way of banishing the unspeakable fears of the nighttime terrors, what was even the point of nightmares anyway. She couldn't see one benefit. Though regular dreams were not too bad over all, some of those were quite pleasant, sometimes she won the sea battle after all.

Broken Arm As it happened sometimes even the most elegant and mystical of beings was less than graceful. She had fallen out of a set of rigged poles to simulate the rigging of a ship. She was practicing her moves and well as sometimes happens to atheletes she had injured herself and injured herself good. Her arm was broken and was now set in a cast. She read her favorite book for comfort but even that was getting a bit dull. But there wasn't much she could get up to now that her chores were done, most of what she did required two whole arms to complete..at least according to her parents who lectured her that if she injured it again she would just delay this purgatory she had placed herself in.
She was unimpressed with them, the world, the healer, the shade of green that she wanted to explore, yes that one. She wandered to the door of her room and headed for the backyard. A walk wasn't forbidden her after all, and what should happen if trouble just happened to find her huh? They couldn't pin in on her. So she thought.
Thus not for the last time Seathra sneaked away to do some exploring of her own. Unbenowst to her, whenever she did this, one or the other parent always lurked in the shadows nearby or a cousin. Some things did not bear repeating but she thought she was the bees knees and uber stealthy and for regular non paranoid parents it would have worked.
She returned later, ruffled but sated for adventure for just a while. She had a sleepy content look on her face that night at the fire. A day well spent, not as stuffy inside all the time, her arm didn't even really hurt anymore. She sighed and slept well that night, dreaming of pirate ships and treasure and conquests and great vines with magical seeds that she was on a quest to collect. Good dreams. 331

Pen Pals She hopped from foot to foot eager and excited for this morning's post. This was the start of a program that was designed to help kids far away connect with other kids that had similar interests. They had been informed that there was an odd number of kids this year so Seathra had been partnered with two others. Her letters to them with her introduction, (pretty fat letters as she had a lot family to introduce,) had gone out with the post a few days ago. It should be reaching them soon. At first filling out the address seems super weird to her, but soon she felt that it was quite fun. She put a lot of effort into making her writing neat and tidy. Mum had found some stickers that she could put on the envelopes. Mum was so thoughtful. She peered down the road about every few minutes. She was driving herself crazy but well she was very excited to meet the people she was paired with.
This was a strange sort of adventure, a stationary adventure, pun intended. Finally, she heard the soft footfalls of one of her family members returning from town she didn't even notice who it was, she just snatched the letters and ran. She found a cozy spot on a hay bale in the hay barn. The paper would be well illuminated by the window beside her. She took the envelopes out and took a closer look. One was a bill, how disappointing she flung that over a shoulder and revealed her first legitimate letter, a thick blue envelope with minimalist script outlining her address.
This appeared to be from someone well educated. She flipped it over to a discover wax seal and was delighted to find the other letter was hers as well, one of an orange red hue and elegant calligraphic writing. Small cherry blossoms, pressed flowers, had been spread over the envelope, with a beautiful combination between the two both showed characters style and personality.
She brushed her hair back behind your ears, but which one should she open first? Which one was she the most excited for? Oh, this is surprisingly hard. Finally, rolling her eyes at herself. She put them both behind her back and picked that way instead. She pulled out the red letter to read first. It was obviously from a little girl she realized as soon as she opened it, glitter had probably fallen out. She tugged out the paper paper, more glitter had appeared.
The glitter was an interesting touch, at least she hadn't opened the letter in her room. She would have to remember that sly trick. She went over the paper itself and read the girl's introduction it turned out that her new correspondance was an Oban with a noble bloodline. Her family was overall open minded, she wanted to be a baker and make sweet things. She had a black and brown radaku called Toalld. She likes natural jewelry and her name was Tauriel. Very well. Not too bad of an introduction.
She turned her attention now to the other letter, somewhat suspicious of another glitter trap. She broke the seal with a very satisfying 'snick' and pulled out the letter. No glitter this time thankfully. it was more of a girls weapon and always looked better in the bottle then it did on actual projects.
This person turned out to also be a noble, but one of Zena. Maybe they were somehow related to grandpa who came from a noble family that sort of shrugged off the proper noble traditions. He had an allol that lived inside his shirt for nine months a year. She thought that was quite a special bond. Soon she would have familiars she could write to them about. She loved animals and she fully intended to follow in her father's footsteps and become a Beast Master. In him she had found the perfect teacher. The Ice Lordling as she came to call him, had very correct writing and he expressed an interest in beasts letting her know what likely had been the thing that got them paired up. Just as she suspected that it was gardening that had gotten her paired up with the Oban girl
. Well, the letters had been brief but interesting, it was up to each of them now to write back. And so the cycle would continue so on and so forth until the end. She supposed that might involve some sort of meet and greet eventually, one day.

Rite of Passage Today was the day! She would finally bond with a familiar and take her place as part of the family, they called it earning the teeth on your necklace. There were many ways that this could be accomplished but the most common was to tame a critter if that was what your heart told you at the time that you were interested in. Traditionally they bonded a young critter, or hatched one, but she was impatient to accomplish this feat and would not be able to wait for her snaptrotter egg to hatch. She had helped to pick out the parents for this special event. But that was a gift this she had to work for! Which made it better in a way. It helped exemplify what bonds could be forged, and often helped make the person a better tamer. She wanted to be the best tamer, then she would show up her eldest sister and forever be Daddy's favorite. I mean, honestly, she was already anyone could see that. Kechiri just had yet to admit defeat. But that day was coming for her sister, no doubt about that. They would lock horns and it would be great. For now though she had to focus on the next goal in front of her. She opened up the envelope for her instructions. Her family would remain nearby but they would not interfere. That was how this particular sort of testers perform a true challenge. But she likely would not need help. It looked from the instructions like she would have a choice between a few different critters apparently. A Keldari, sailscale or an adolescent radaku. She fiddled with her hair and leaned against the post. Of course they would give her a choice instead of just an assignment. An assignment she could have done easily but a choice? She grumbled under her breath. She knew she was being watched. What critter should she choose? They were not purely wild, but not much handled, the perfect combination for someone young. All were an appropriate size for her she was assured by the letter. She went over a list of pros and cons making her decision, after which stomping her foot and marching off the appropriate direction. In the end, she had chosen to go with her very nature she had chosen the category of Keldari which was apparently waiting for her in a grove of oak trees. She wondered if the tree species had any significant meaning to her situation. Oh, well. She poked about careful with her investigations using a branch to gently lift stuff up. When one was looking for venomous things, one should be careful not to use their hands. Those kind of chances were not something to ignore. Keldari venom wasn’t all that bad but it was in fact venom. After a short while she heard the warning rattle she had been looking for. “Gotcha.” She smiled and revealed simply the most beautiful snake. Forest and lime green and black all mottled together. It had to be one of the most expensive assets in grandpa and dad's huge collection. A two year old she recognized as she had been there for its hatching that day. Her eyes watered and she wondered if the other candidates were special and unique at this one. That might be worth investigating later, maybe she would be able to collect them all. Though this one if she was successful and her new snaptrotter whenever it hatched would be her favorites forever because of their sentimentality and symbolism. “Alright cutie.” Snake charming was an art unto itself. She took a deep breath and remembered everything Uncle Tethys had told her about Keldari. It turned out that he specialized in them and sailscales. All smaller creatures than his other two brothers. ‘They like their bellies, tickles. They can't be completely around their head. Make use of the blind spot. A comfortable snake will not bite. They are docile, the rattle was the warning and the bite being a last resort. Being bit would count as a fail on the set. She didn't want to try again later. She wanted to accomplish it now. Time waited for no witch. Taming took time, quality interactions took time. She would have to calm her mind and her ambition just for the moment. She took a deep breath. Use the mental imagery to calm herself down quicker than if she had not. She engaged with the snake trying to get her out of the hole she was in. She tried everything she could think. And eventually she sat quietly by the entrance. As she contemplated her next move, the snake, evidently getting bored emerged from a hole and tasted the air. She knew the warmblood was there. But as it was not moving. Time to look for rodents. Doing nothing had actually worked. Maybe that was the secret to success. Knowing when to back off and do nothing. Maybe sometimes being quiet and patient was the better part of valor. She could do that she could learn to wait..maybe with a bit of fidgeting. Apparently it was a skill some people had to learn and her family was half mellow and half high strung, one could guess what she got. She grinned, a chip of of Aunty Ny’s block with a bit of her own Mom and Dad thrown in and a bit from each Uncle too. On the second day the snake had been tamed well within in the time limit and it was the start of a beautiful friendship that would last forever. 936
