A New Book
Today was the day! She had been extra good all week in anticipation of her dad taking her to the bookstore. She couldn't think of anything better to do today but to get a deliciously fresh new book. What fantastic story or new characters might pull, maybe she would find a favorite new author. Once released in one of her favorite places, she promptly lost yourself among the bookshelves. Sunlight trickled into the windows. The shelves were well decorated with knickknacks and potted flowers interspersed with semi precious stones.

It had been worth it to go a little further to a larger bookstore, instead of the small one that she absolutely haunted when she could. There were so many more new books here it was crazy.

She prepared herself to be here for hours. It was an interesting first round to walk through, the store was actually a few different yurt style buildings connected with small hallways. So many books. She did a quick walk through noticing where her preferred genres were. Upon coming to a preferred genre, she would use her eyes first to pick the right colors to see if it led to good fine. Next, she would pick up the selected books up and please the cover slightly to see how immediate was then she would check the back and finally reading a few sentences to sample from the middle. The finishing on the book was noted but in the end, the book had to have interesting content or it was not coming home with her. She quite lost count of how many books she went through, lost in the ecstacy of it all. But at the end, she had narrowed it down to three that were promising enough to pack with her while she wandered. She grabbed a solid thick bright blue leather bound about a sorority of mermaids who all fall in love over the course of a long Matorian summer. Then there was a black book rather thinner, full of myths and legends short stories gathered from all over Matori. Finally, the last volume was from a local author that would be doing a signing in a few months. The final decision after much thinkery was the large blue mermaid book. It was girly blue and looked able to give hours more entertainment than the other two. They would be added to her collection as soon as she was able. For now mermaids!

Seathra is learning a lot about the world and herself and her capabilities. She finds working with animals to be much much more enjoyable than people though she adores her best friend Undine and her Papa especially. She is still very keen to outcompete her elder sister Kechiri in any way possible. Seathra will have a lot of growing pains in the next stage especially as she is required to learn empathy XD.

Body Type: Keeping the slim but muscled figure she has with boobs probably around the same size that Hrafn and Kechiri have.

She knew, had known all along what she was going to be, who her people were. Bloodlines were very important, but only to keep the family strong, they were not really picky otherwise. However, she figured the strong family background in taming would come in handy. She had been right too. Her family had set her up with a difficult task. If she could tame this headstrong bull Janarim, she could keep him and would become a beast taming apprentice, which would net her the tutelage she so badly needed to excel at her chosen craft. She had a whole bunch of honor to uphold, and no less than one sister whose face she had to rub in that accomplishment. She had gone head to head with her eldest sister since she was hatched. She had places to be.

For now, though she really had to focus on the task at hand. The huge male glared at her, red eyes glinting as he too sized up this pint sized challenger of his. It had taken three large men and a very large quhar to convince him that the stark freedom had not been in his best interests. He was the largest thing out here. He could smell it. She was insignificant, but she had a pointed, determined look in her eye that made him feel quite wary. It was nonsense to worry about it. What could she possibly do to him after all? She watched, she hunted, and she spit the kill over the fire until the smell of the meat settled into the air like a great guest at a dinner party.

She grinned evily as she heard large feet crunch over the gravel sized stones.

"Fancy meeting you here come to share and at least hear me out old boy," she spoke as if to a long time friend.

Charisma has always been her thing. She offered him a sizzling leg from the catch of the day, and he wasn't sure what to make of it. No two leg had ever been this polite before. He was bemused and in turn, baffled. What could she possibly want from him? He took the proferred meat and disappeared back into the darkness. Sharing kindly with something families did. She pulled the other leg off and bit into it. Step one; share a carcass, was already complete.

He would come back tomorrow, perhaps with a treat for her, some cool feather or other gift. They were polite like that, at least the ones where this wild guy hailed from. They, like so many others, had set patterns and rituals, sometimes more than likely behavior, and her family knew all the secrets. One just had to know who to ask, not that there was only one source per critter, and she had been sure to ask the experts about their research favorites.

She had been born to do this, and she had the experience of her people. She curled up snug in her camping tent at night, comforting, safe. Not everything worthwhile could be done in a single day, no matter that it had been gentle introduction today, it was good to leave them a bit curious. That way they might just be interested in staying around just a little bit longer. That was the other trick that her grandpa had told her. He was super helpful as always. So much experience, just like grandma Nin, she could have asked anyone, but he did have the most experienced records, she had looked and her dad had catching up to do.

She slept deep like she had not a care in the world. She had been studying for this for a long time, she was more than ready. Unbeknownst to her, the young male had come to sniff around and learn about the newcomer. She was interesting, but he did not learn much. Expect that she was an omnivore, which seemed odd, who wanted to eat seeds, fruits and vegetables.

The next morning, found Seathra wrapped in a blanket against a chill morning poking her fire awake. Once she had it established, she put the coffee on the fire and let the heat sink into her bones. Ah, now that was better. She tilted her chin up with a beatific smile on her face, just lovely. Hard to believe that this was an actual test. The way to tell if she was prepared for the rigors to come. Of course, she already knew the answer. She had been born to do this. She reckoned she would show them what she could do. She had always had a certain way with animals, right from day one. It was good when you were around animals from a young age. Gave her a few more years of experience than most other people.

A twig snapped and she nursed a hot mug of coffee with honey.

"Good to see you back so soon, my friend, she casually tossed him the leftovers from her meal the other night, sharing the same portion. Rule two, enhanced comradery.

He snatched it out of the air, eyeing her curiously. She watched him hesitate and then settle down. She side eyed him over their coffee. They did speak the same language then, very well, she accepted his company with little rustle as was polite. It would be time soon for him to bring her something to her that he felt she would appreciate somehow, she would be amused at what he came up with.

She was halfway through eggs and bacon when her critter came back with a medium sized rabbit type of thing. He dropped it at her feet and nudged it toward her. She put down her food. After sneaking him a bit of the bacon, she gutted the fresh kill and presented him with liver, heart and lungs right off the bat. Waste not want, not, she skinned the creature and would tan the hide later, and then processed the carcass to simmer in the cook pot all day for dinner.

Step three, accept the gift. That only left step four; touch. Over the course of the day, she'd go about her business until there came an opportunity, but this was the part she would have to be most patient with. It was the easiest piece of the dance to muck up, and it would have pushed her over the time limit if she botched it. She didn't want to risk having to ask for an extension, she might not get it. Plus it would be shameful and would likely bruise her ego, which she could do without. No, it be in her best interest to go slow, even if she wanted to ride on his back like a princess on her royal steed. It would be so good to execute this right and show them all how truly special she was and he was for she could tell he was a special beast, an extra spark of intelligence flashed in his reptilian eyes.

She grinned evilly, that would show her big sis just how seriously she should be taking her. All glory, no apologies.

The morning seemed to go quickly and Seathra dug out her best book and flopped down flat in the field. Perhaps in his eyes, her oddest, most curious behavior yet. Eventually, he couldn't take it anymore, and he padded over to see what she was doing. He sniffed her book, and absently, she reached over to pet his nose, just like she had a million times with her dad's janarim mount, so many times she did it without thinking, and was shocked to look up and see that it was her wildie.

She swallowed. Step four. Lacking any other options, she kept petting before slowly retracting her hand. He hadn't trampled her to pulp, so she was hopeful that her little accident had worked. She flipped the page in her book and told the Janarim, in a patient voice, the whole plot line, and that it was by a local author. The janarim for his part, understood almost nothing. However, her steady voice sounded safe, so he relaxed after the pet.

Most unusual these two legs, though, admittedly, it had felt pretty good.
"Are you going to help me out by not being a weenie tomorrow when I show them how far we came?"

So long as he behaved docile and seemed to be listening, and they would win and she would pass either way, this handsome thing would be her new bestie. He and her snaptrotter would look so very good together. Their dad had great taste in critters, and no doubt it had taken him months to find this particular beautiful specimen with just the right temperament and experience to be a challenge and still be very worth following through on the training. Plus he was an absolutely beautiful specimen, proud, young and with a seemingly solid mind, a very fine male indeed.

She was proud that her dad set such challenge. It showed his face and faith in her. And if he had faith in her, she did too, and she had faith in her critter. So much work had gone into this, she was sure it would be fine.

The next day, she showed the judges how comfortable he was with her. I would take food and that he didn't mind touch. He even nudged her subtley, which made her dream even harder. That was sure a sign of trust. She didn't believe in rushing training. Fortunately, neither did her kin, unless it was a weird circumstance. Proof of touch meant that everything was going well, and she could continue to work with him to expand her experience and add to her portfolio. But most importantly, this meant she got to keep him, even if she failed.

As it turned out, she did, in fact, pass Seathra accepted her dues and then spent the next two months working day in day out with her new janarim. The biggest issue she had was that her large male snaptrotter wanted nothing to do with the Janarim and vice versa. Neither male was impressed with the divide of her attention. In a way, she was lucky that the love of her was the biggest issue. But how did she get them to behave? Putting them together, failed, bonding exercises, failed. Maybe would take more epic effort or more drastic measures to get them to work together as a team. One could not make a triangle one of the strongest shapes with only two sides. She would continue to try new ideas until she figured it out. Perhaps she would have to try a long road trip, or perhaps time was simply the answer.

2 for 1 Deal

The wind teased in her hair as she rode Diablo along the winding trail. She loved blustery days like this and exploring along the river bank for what she might see. This scouting behaviour came naturally, her daddy was a Beast Master after all and she had learned a lot from him over the years, how he moved how he thought how he read an animals mind.

She peered up ahead of them, looking for any obstacle or danger that might somehow come their way. It was a peaceful day. She loved coming out for a ride, especially now that it was Diablo that she rode. Dad had helped her a lot with his training and it was really paying off. She couldn't have asked for a sturdier or more devoted beast.
She felt relaxed and free, maybe they would find a nice beach to enjoy, or maybe they would scope the local market. She loved buying fabric and working on her own dresses, or maybe they would find themselves a wild snaptrotter!

What dad didn't know about her little adventures wouldn't hurt him. Besides by the time they noticed the new critter it would already be at the ranch in which case it was meant to be there as that was where they did all the training. She had trained Diablo after all, had caught him herself, she didn't need her Dad's help or Undine. She could do this..her.

Seathra heard a sort of crashing up ahead on the trail and certain snaptrotter grunts, roars and snarls. This yes, was what she was after. Now if she could just get a look at the critters ahead. Diablo was perfect but he was sort of muted colors, and snaptrotters could be very colorful indeed. She could chose from the family breeding program, but she rather found she liked the romance of catching her critters raw.

As she got closer it was almost as if the snaptrotter could detect her presence or that of Diablo. They continued to fight obviously from the sounds she could hear but it was like chasing ghosts in the forest or mudpuppies in the swamp. They were always just out of reach. She wasn't concerned about getting lost as Diablo could find home easily enough he had great spacial awareness.

The wind began to blast back and forth, making her pause to tie her hair up securely. She couldn't see with it flapping in the wind, no matter how beautiful it was. She wanted to go for the long and wavely look not the I can't see a thing look. She smiled to herself wondering if anyone were watching. Some might call it vanity..okay everyone would call it vanity but she didn't care she loved her appearance and how she looked much like her Dad and her grandmum. She loved her mom too but fate had decided that she be pale like papa and not midnight mysterious. She wasn't a very mysterious person at this age. There was so much to see and figure out.

Well after she got ahold of these two bull snaptrotters for making her triapse all over the country. She was sure her pal Diablo was sick of this too. She crouched along his back. "Lets try to cut them off I'm sick of these games."

She made a clicking noise in his ear and his steady trot became a long smooth lope. She had to duck underneath tree limbs and got a few scratches on her face. Scars from taming were okay so long as it wasn't from another person. A taming scar was a badge of honor, even if she did earn them by bushwacking and besdies they were small scrapes they probably wouldn't scar her beautiful face anyway. She wanted to mutter under her breath but the hunter in her wouldn't die and she kept silent while Diablo got them where they needed to be.

Staged in a clearing they waited, his sides heaving but still in good form. And now we wait, she thought.

Wait they did, but thankfully not for too long, sure enough through the treeline burst two bull snaptrotters. One of which, a deep royal blue with yellow markings was one hundred percent exactly what she was looking for. His yellow eyes flared wide and he held off fighting with the red bellied black bull that had come out of the forest with him. On second thought she could go for a two for one deal.

First though she had to figure out how to get them back to the ranch. She wouldn't be able to train two out here she needed a more controlled environment and since they seemed to have oh so much energy she figured out first to lash them together. She made snares and hung them around, then she tried the lasso method, Diablo did a great job. She managed after about 20 tries to get the lasso around one snaptrotter and the other thank the gods found a snare in his panic to get away..if a prentice could make a full grown bull panic..she figured in hindsight she might have just annoyed him.

The two boys were lashed together and then she wrapped the midline around her saddle horn.

"Done like dinner." What she didn't account for was the constant fighting, the hooking around trees, the bolting ect. When she finally did make it to the ranch she slid off a tired but still proud Diablo, her two recksome charges in town. "You two are going to be the best of friends you just have no idea how I'm going to make that happen yet, never fear..we will all work together..with Daddy." She said firmly. She was huffed at for her troubles but ahh well.

She and the stable hands untied the mess that had become of the lines and the individuals were loaded into holding pens where they could trample off some of the excess energy and excitement, though how they had any energy left was quite beyond her it was a good sign of their overall health and vitality.

She spent the next hour combing over Diablo for wear patches, cleaning his plate armor as they had been dragged unceremoniously through the darn swamp at one point. Then she cleaned his stall, patted him and kissed him good night. He was turned out into the yard but his stable was attached in case he wanted to have a nap. She was mostly undamaged. A few rope burns, a sore knee and the aforementioned facial scratches (marring). She felt that was pretty good considering either one of those critters could very well have broken her neck. The stable hands were resigned to her whole family doing unfathomable things and they didn't question the wolf's daughter about her new...pets.

She smugly thought she had done a rather perfect job. She would name the two later once she got to know them. She even filled out the intake forms properly and plopped them on Viltre's desk, soon to disapear into the great file base if Iorhel was around and she was always lurking back there. Seathra would have to drag her friend out for some fun later, she guessed technically Iorhel was related but not by blood more like through marriage.

Either way she would teach her cousin? how to actually have fun. The file house was no fun. It was time to greet the sun. Maybe Seathra would catch her a snaptrotter one of these days better if Iorhel did it herself though. Less work.

Bonding
Over time she got to know her new snaptrotter friends. Funnily enough they both bonded to her and got along better with the janarim than they did with each other. This worked out for her for sure. Her Dad had shaken his head and pinched the area behind his eyes but even he could not deny that the apple didnt fall far from the tree. This pleased her greatly. He also helped her start their training. Which with two wild bulls was a heck of a lot more intensive. This got to thr point where for a whole month she slept in the stable with them. It made chores, bonding and everything else that much easier. Her mom had brought a matress out and she was considering making this arrangement permanant. It was very comfortable now.

Trainig was going well but today she was ready for another adventure. So she went through the motions, stole some hearty cheese and bread from the main house stores and a scone. It wasnt really theft but she practiced her stealth while she was in there so she got points for that. She saddled up Diablo and tied the other two along in a pony trail. They were at least calmer standing beside each other despite the hot eyed glares. Red gaze met yellow and turned away aloof. Both of them got a treat for their good behaviour. Sometimes it was as simple as that training and other times it was a great big to do with a dustup and occasionally some mild bleeding and angry feels. She supposed not being able to predict any of it was what made her profession fun. It truly set her alive even though her skills as her father told her were just budding. She had the basics down and the rest would come with time. At this point he and Thall had trained more critters than she had even seen in her short life and she wanted to stand among their ranks as one of thr best. Her family lined carried pride determination and ambition. She was pretty surr that those were the words written in ancient writing on her families sheild. Upon it a rampant wolf danced over a blue sea. Ushiwa's sigil and the flag they flew at training games.

Once she had a mate of her own one day, she could make her own shield, one that would represent her at the training games and she and her good critters. Her goal was to be well renouned by the tome she had seen thirty winters. Her elder sister had been notorious by then because she had focused really hard on her career for so long before finding her mate. Seathra bet she could do better. She would make her papa proud of her accomplishments and her Mama too, she adored her Mama who was always there for her kids whenever they needed to talk. Seathra honestly couldnt understand the hostility between her Mom and Kechiri. Her Dad told her time and again that they were just too alike but she thought that it might be jealousy over Dad that was the root cause as to her knowledge like her, Kechiri actually took after Ushiwa.

They snuck away from the busy main thoroughfare, she was sure that her older brother knew she had gone, he was awfully clever with such things. She presumed he used Ultears help more often then he let on as being blended into yhr shadows was more useful that great squidfish creatures on land. She wondered what super powers her sisters new kids would get. They were unassumingly small right now but with their regal bloodlines they would bear watching. She was not about to let her guard down based on thr fact they were family but she would see how they developed too. All was fair in love, war and blood ties. She had ribbons to earn.

Their trip so far was going suspiciously well. The boys were quietly bickering in thr back but not enough that it was impeding the progress of the janarim in thr lead. Diablo snorted at their silly antics and swung his head around to growl when one or the other crowded into him but they were learning and as they were not even his own species he didnt mind babysitting them too much. They would not go after any of his females after all.

Seathra thought that this had been a rather clever idea, right up until a bird flushed from thr undergrowth and things went just a bit sideways. The black and red snapper lunged for the bird, the other tried to bolt as he was started and Diablo lurched a bit being connected to both of them. Seathra who had been quite deep in thought was thrown from the saddle and bumped her arm. It hurt, she could tell it wasnt broken but she was quite unhappy. She organized the critters glad to see that the snapper had indeed caught thr bird.
"I hope you enjoy that snack my arm is going to take a few days to a week to heal because you got hungry." She was a bit proud of his agility though. At least all her critters were fit, trim and young. All for the better in times like these. Her trip was somewhat dampened but this still beat the crap out of any regular book learning she would have had yo do had she still been at the ranch.

Speaking of which the rest of this ride was not nearly so attractive as when she had started uninjured but would she be doing her courage justice of she threw in the proverbial towel now? No she would go around a few more bends and decide if she needed Granny Nin to look at her arm or Einsol if Granny wasnt around. Seathra liked admiring the hair color she had gotten from her grandma. It was rare and iconic in the famil and she was thr only granchild with it so far which had been a bit surprising considering both of her parents sported the more traditional blue hue. Quite dominant genes from the ice side from her observations. Her family was vast and powerful and quite niche. They had a few new magic users. She would continue the beast taming tradition though since her brothers and sisters had totally dropped the ball. How dare they not see how important taming was to Dad. Plus younger beast tamers mean that the ranch would not fall to ruin when Daddy and Uncle had to retire. She had Tathy but he was a swarmkeeper and was always tied up with honey production, sales, his small critters and spending time with Talria. Which fair, she was super cool being a lightning and stuff. The only lighting residing at the ranch though they had a couple from leaf and Oban and alk type lineages the main force was ice and water or a mix of the two. It was funny how so many strings of luves had intertwined to create the unique tapestry that was the ranch. She would include the critters too as they were the other half of what made the ranch run. Without critters they would be a family camp and nothing more.

She would never ever let that come to pass. She had too many ambitious plans. Before she knew it the next three bends had gone, her arm ached dully and she had to reach a decision. She hopped off and submerged her arm as Mama had told her to do to reduce pain and swelling. The water was cool and refreshing so she dunked her head too and flicked her mane of wet teal hair back yhr water soothing her dry skin and trickling its coolness down her back. This was living. This was freedom. This was who she was mean to be. She could feel it in her bones. Wherever else her feet might take her she would always be after she graduated a beast tamer from Matori from a tamer family and daughter of her elegantly dangerous father. He always made sure to spend time with them all even if it was a tea time in the afternoon. He worked so hard to keep all of his kids and grandkids comfortable. She was trying very hard to keep her jealousy under control and only compete with her sister. She had no quartel yet with the kids and she would toe the line.

The sun was beginning yo hang lower in thr sky and she figured she should start heading back before it got too dark out here. Yes she had large protective scaled body guards but she lacked a weapon of any kind or nearby family to come save her butt if there were any unsavories out here. She had been warned and warned again. Elaxi had not been so luck and Mom hadnt been able to stop her kidnapping despite valliant effort. Being stabbed multiple times had made it more difficult. The big point was that her mom and sis were together again. Now Seathra too better make it home for late tea.

Sailscale Sale
Seathra was at the cafe waiting for someone who was supposed to come and pick up a sailscale. She had been entrusted with this task by Thal who honored her by giving her more responsibility than her father did on the ranch. But how was she supposed to learn without more exposure after all. Thank goodness she was part of a big family and the duty of raising her into a proper beast charmer was not the soul aegis of her parents. She had uncles and aunts and granparents eager to train her in the most sacred of the family ways. Uncle Thal specialized in snaptrotter. Her father in janarim. They had contacts in Jauhar who were the finest radaku breeders around and some stock of their own. Tethys was best with sailscale and keldari. Grandma Nin was an all rounder as was Kiyelt with a preferrence for janarim.

So much occured on any one day at the ranch that to get experience in any one thing one simply had to be at the right place at the right time. But as Uncle Thal had had a busy day he thought it prudent that Seathra get some experience offsite with the customer service side of things. Something that only Uncle Thal even seemed to like. He was the social butterfly, though Tathy who dealt with the ranch hives was pretty good, around his bees no one dared come near without a suit on anyway.

She sighed and tapped the table, at war with her own nature which wanted to be DOING something and the loyalty to her craft that said holding still for a few minutes and waiting for the customer WAS doing something.

She amused herself by feeding said sailscale pieces of cheese provided by the cafe, while she ate the crackers, something the reptile would have a bit of a harder time digesting. "When is your new papa coming hmm?" She knew in her bones that the creature had no answer for her it just looked at her wistfully for another chunk of cheese. A very finely bred female it had come from one of Tathy's lines and was trained to hunt small game and be a faithful companion. She was selling for top dollar. Kechiri thought she might order one or two from her brother herself. She loved her big critters but she felt like being a genaralist as each critter had special talents, which meant she would have to round out her collection with a radaku at some point. Daddy had told her he could get her in touch with the Jauharan shifter family that most of their bloodstock came from as they would have the best selection.

She looked up at the sky and at the waves whitecapping in the distance. Someone cleared a throat near here and she looked up to see a Matorian male looking sheepish with a coin purse clutched in one hand. "I am sorry I am late, there was an accident on the road here and it took a bit of time to get around." He offered her a hand. "Zendric is my name, a pleasure to meet you."

She took the offered hand and shook. He was water tribe which was alright in her book, she had her fair share of water in her blood. Plus similar ideals and a love of the sea and Matori. It helped that she was in a friendly enough mood as he had not made her wait overly long here. There were worse places to hang out in front of than a cafe. He had dark matorian hair, bright orange eyes reminiscent of her fathers and a ready smile. Not too bad.

"Ah yes my name is Seathra of the Ninyelt Beast Taming clan. "I have your girl right here." She coaxed the sailscale up onto the mans arm and while he was preoccupied with that he gave her the coin purse. She counted and found the coin to be accurate. "If you have any questions about her don't be afraid to ask now or write us later, we have our own messenger birds and would get you a reply as soon as possible." She drank the rest of her drink and paid her bill.

The male for his part was enchanted with the sailscale who did her best to woo him for more cheese. She asked the waiter to bring some sausage pieces and showed the male how to feed his new pet. "I think you two will be well suited together. However I really must be going back home. My father won't like me gone too long..we have some old family trauma that I will not bore you with. Farewell Zendric."

He had no further questions and she swiftly took her leave...to go to the market and look for clothes. It was true that her father wouldn't want her gone for long alone after what had happened to Elaxi but...she whistled and up trotted Diablo. She was never alone.

She had done it. She had put an order in for a radaku pup using her own coin earned from chores and extra errands around town and at the ranch. She had worked her booty off too. Now she was on the ship her brother owned and it had just reached port of the coast of Jauhar where she would be able to pick up the very special puppy that she had bought. Excited was putting it mildly. Diablo looked amused at her pacing back and forth on the ship. Her two snaptrotters had chosen to swim not ride and they had just pulled themselves out onto the beach and were rolling in the sand.

Once she was able to get off the ship she headed directly to the meeting point and met a young shifter that sometimes helped the family with errands in town. She was somewhat disapointed that he was not blood kin to the people from which the radaku came but them were the breaks. The critter was a silvery gray in color with pale white dapples and dark blue eyes. He was gorgeous and was a tad older than the proper puppy she had been expecting but her guide assured her that that meant he had been trained more than a pup would be.

She handed over her hard won coin with a flinty eye. It still hurt to pay. But she knew what he was worth coming from a beast taming family and it would definitely be worth it in the end. His father was proven at hunting and protection and his dame came from a long line of hunting companion stock that was versatile both on the couch and in the field. She would be happy with this one.

On the voyage home she worked hard on coming up with a name and finding out exactly how much training this new boy had, under the ever present watchful eye of diablo.

"I think I will name you Wolf. After all that is what they call my father and his twin; wolves. Apparenlty and now this is heresay but there was once a wild and furry creature that roamed this world back about a zillion years that was once called that but the records are a bit shotty and no one has seen anything quite like them, no matter how far they travel. I wonder if you are somehow perhaps a long lost descendent or a sister line. Who knows what life's tapestry weaves over the many many eons that the earth exists." She tried not to think too long on it as it might give her a headache but sometimes when she couldn't for the life of her sleep at night due to one reason or another she would ponder things like that.

The voyage home was long and she got to know her new friend. It had been a good family outting and a bit of trade had been done too. It was much faster than trying to do the trip over land and it was good practice for her to be on the boat as well. She had her beast taming yes but she fully intended on being a sailor like her brother and sister too and so she put in hours learning on the boats too. She was at times very very busy but the extra experience should pay off once she was a fully fledged beast charmer.

The more work she put in now she reasoned the better off she would be later when she didn't have as much support when she was off in far off exotic places to teach stupid people how to deal with their critter problems. Not all of them were dumb of course but her daddy said that some people didn't have common sense with critters and that was where she came in.

She couldn't fix silly but she could educate when she needed to. She thought that might just be the hardest part right there but she would try and do her best anyway.
