Hobbies:
Bug-Hunting: Chloë loves nature in general, but she has always had a real soft spot for bugs. She loves observing all the bugs in her small balcony garden, but she won't kill them, even the pests; she knows which ones are natural predators and prey, and prefers to let nature take its course. The really big ones are her favorites, like mantises and dragonflies and millipedes. Rather than collect insects to add to her garden, she plants things that attract certain species of bugs naturally, and enjoys watching them go about their lives in much the same way birders watch birds.
Cars: If there's one thing Chloë loves more than bugs or ancient history, it's the Mini Cooper S Convertible her late father gave her as a high school graduation gift. A natural tinkerer, she takes fastidious care of it, keeping the engine tuned to perfection. She has kitted it out with all the high-end racing type gear available both from Mini and from aftermarket sellers; the car is practically one modification short of being a racing car. And Chloë likes it like that. She's often found up to her elbow in the tiny engine compartment, tweaking one thing or another, or giving it a bath after a drive as if it was a prized horse.
Antiques: Chloë has always had a fondness for antiques, especially furniture; most of the furnishings in her apartment are vintage, found at either antique shops or flea markets or the like. She has a few pieces of antique jewelry from her mother as well, pieces handed down through generations. Since starting work for Jett Draven as an assistant appraiser at his shop, her love and knowledge of antiques and vintage objects has only increased, and she's turning into quite a shrewd evaluator of items that come into the shop. She's a firm believer in upcycling too, taking pieces of furniture that look beyond hopeless and turning them into new treasures with a bit of upholstery fabric and padding and elbow grease.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Large, wide and inquisitive, a vibrant turquoise blue in color, topped by thin straight brows.
Hair: Dark dark auburn, worn in a messy "wolf cut" bob brushing her shoulders, with bangs that hang in her eyes.
Face: heart-shaped face with a sharp determined chin and nose. She does smile when she's enjoying herself, and she seems to be enjoying herself a lot these days, but her default expression is either pensive or stern determination. Chloë tends to shun makeup in general, not being much of a girly girl at all; she will acquiesce to wearing eye makeup for work.
Skin Tone: clear fair skin that's lightly tanned, about #FBDEBC.
Body Type: Around 5'7", slender, long-legged, athletic and strong.
Clothes: Chloë dresses for comfort and practicality. She's a jeans-and-t-shirt kind of girl, usually seen in plain tees or tank tops with worn blue jeans, though she's perfectly capable of dressing up if the occasion calls for it. She prefers lace-up high-top sneakers over anything else for shoes. In winter she adds a vintage aviator jacket and long thick scarves to keep warm. She doesn't wear much in the way of jewelry, but both ears are pierced. Virtues:
Perceptive: Chloë is very good at reading people, picking up on all the little "tells" people give away with their emotional responses to a situation. She is also good at reading situations in general; she can see both the big picture and the smallest detail of a given scenario, and has a natural understanding of tactics and strategy as a result.
Courageous: With the deaths of both of her parents at a young age, Chloë has had to grow up fast. She is a brave, fearless young woman, not afraid of anyone or anything. When faced with conflict she won't back down, preferring to face the source of the conflict and work through it one way or another. She doesn't wilt in the face of adversity of any type, be it physical or psychological or emotional.
Passionate: Chloë doesn't feel things by halves; what concerns her concerns her strongly. She is passionate about her car, about antiquities, about what's wrong with the world in general and Destiny City in particular, about doing what's right for herself and a select group of other people. Chloë also cares deeply about animals and animal welfare, much more so than about people -- she is a die-hard vegetarian and has been since she was six, and cannot stand to see an animal suffer.
Flaws:
Willful: Strong-willed and obstinate, Chloë is like the irresistible force and the immovable object rolled into one. Once she sets her mind on something, woe betide anyone or anything that tries to dissuade her or gets in her way. She believes she knows what is best for her and will not listen to anyone who tries to convince her otherwise. She will argue her position until she is blue in the face and fight tooth and nail to win and sulk if denied.
Proud: Chloë is one of those people who just won't ask for help, no matter how much she may need it. Stubbornly proud of her own abilities and what she's accomplished on her own, she feels she can take care of anything that might come up in her life – and she has a proven track record of doing exactly that. She's not haughty or stuck-up by any stretch, but she is definitely no shrinking violet.
Aggressive: Regardless of whether she is tackling problems in her life, engaged in an actual fight, or whatever, Chloë is a born warrior. Competitive and ruthless, she gives no quarter and asks none. Sometimes though she is too aggressive, bulling through a situation with much more force than is really called for under the circumstances. Chloë is something of a daredevil when it comes to driving her car. She loves to drive fast, and has gotten several warnings from the police about speeding (no tickets so far, thankfully). She's also a little reckless and really enjoys driving fast on winding, twisting roads. She owns a sky-blue Mini Cooper S Convertible (with manual transmission, of course) that she's kitted out with all kinds of extras, and can often be seen tearing it up with the top down on the twistier back roads around the Destiny City region.
As a grad student studying Ancient History, Chloë's an avid reader of history and archaeology books. She especially loves learning about warrior societies, and has a particular fondness for the ancient Mongols and Scythians and other nomadic horse cultures. She's done some reading on them on her own, and has also researched the historic Amazons for fun. She's even been on a couple of archaeological digs sponsored by the University. Her Master's thesis is going to be on the Scythians and their relationship with their horses, comparing it with the Mongol culture of the time of Genghis Khan.
What type of music does Chloë enjoy most? METAL. She was first exposed to metal music during high school, and it blew her mind in the best of ways. Metal gets her blood flowing and her aggro on; she has a metal soundtrack going in her head during fights, and the radio in her car is tuned to the local metal station. Her favorite bands are classics like Metallica (the older thrash metal stuff especially), Scandinavian death-metal bands like Amon Amarth and Opeth, and at the top of the list is The HU, a folk-metal band from Mongolia.
Chloë is a lifelong vegetarian, as noted above; she's been a vegetarian since watching a program on how meat is processed when she was six years old. Her mom and dad were surprised, but they went with it and she's been a happy ovo-lacto vegetarian ever since. She's become quite a good vegetarian cook for herself, and has a small produce garden on the balcony of her apartment that she harvests from regularly. She's careful to source the rest of her food ethically too, only buying from the weekly farmer's market in town or the local organic grocery store.

Senshi: Nausikaa, Senshi of Empathy
Challenge: "Can't hide your feelings from me!"
Attacks:
Sailor Scout Attack: Empathic Blow
This attack acts as an empathic debuff to Nausikaa's enemies. She runs up and smacks, shoves, or otherwise touches her target, focusing her mind on a particular negative emotion, i.e. fear, panic, etc. The target is then empathically susceptible to the emotion and can become fearful, panicky, or whatever emotion Nausikaa is focusing on if their willpower allows it. The effect of this attack lasts 25 seconds and can only affect one target at a time; Nausikaa has to physically touch her target in some way for it to take effect, but she does not have to maintain contact. She can use this up to three times per battle.
[Super Sailor Scout Attack: Empathic Punch LOCKED
This attack acts as an empathic debuff to Nausikaa's enemies. She runs up and delivers a solid punch to her target with her fist, focusing her mind on a particular negative emotion, i.e. fear, panic, etc. The target is then empathically susceptible to the emotion and can become extremely fearful, panicky, or whatever emotion Nausikaa is focusing on if their willpower allows it. The effect of this attack lasts 30 seconds and can affect up to two targets at a time, since she only has two hands; Nausikaa has to physically hit her target(s) for it to take effect, but she does not have to maintain contact. She can use this up to three times per battle.
Eternal Sailor Attack: Empathy Flood LOCKED
This attack acts as a powerful empathic debuff. Closing her eyes, she touches her brooch and says the attack name. As she names the attack, the amber stone in her brooch glows and shoots out a beam of energy in a ten foot radius. When hit, the target is instantly overwhelmed by emotions. Through the power of empathy, they suddenly feel smothered by a wave of negativity – fear, anger, aggression, everything. If they are in the process of attacking, they may feel so overwhelmed that they immediately stop. It may become difficult to think or process, and the emotions can cause physical responses as if having a panic attack. The effect of this attack lasts 45 seconds and can affect all allies within ten feet of her at the time of casting. While the effects can be somewhat resisted by targets wtih strong willpower, being within range of Nausikaa when the magic is cast will still cause emotional discomfort, and the more enemies that are around her, the more the empathy in the air will amplify the negative emotions. Players can choose to take lasting emotional damage (or physical damage, such as fatigue or stress) even after the magic ends. She can use this once per battle. |
