School/Occupation: Glenn works as a Firefighter part-time. He also attends DCU to complete more advanced coursework in fire science and public service administration.
Hobbies: Fitness and Athletics – Staying in shape may be necessary for Glenn to do his job to the best of his abilities, but even without that incentive, he likes to keep himself active. He drops by a local gym several days a week, where he enjoys the social aspect of exercising among other people just as much as he enjoys working out. He can also be found jogging around town and participating in various recreational sports on the DCU campus. He’ll try anything that seems like it might offer him a good workout.
Group Activities – Glenn enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He isn’t picky about their activities, as long as they’re together. He might organize a game night, either at an arcade for some fun on the town or at home with some board games or card games. Maybe they can drop by a cafe for a snack, or spend a couple of hours goofing off at a local establishment’s karaoke night. He loves escape rooms, festivals, carnivals, and theme parks, parties, barbecues, and holidays — any excuse to hang out and have a good time.
Bonsai – The art of miniature trees grown in containers. Glenn finds the process of caring for his trees relaxing. They’re pleasing to the eye and give him something to care for when he’s on his own. He gets excited about new pots, and has been known to “rescue” trees that other people haven’t had much luck with or have outright discarded. Glenn will occasionally bestow nicknames upon his trees, usually relevant to their botanical name or the circumstances of their acquisition. He’s even entered some of his trees into the occasional competition.
Virtues: Sincere - Glenn is an honest guy. He says what he means and means what he says, and he does his best to present a positive attitude in the process. He’s straightforward about his feelings and heartfelt when he expresses them. He isn’t the type to lie or cheat. He’s not going to make promises he doesn’t intend to keep. Glenn is a genuine soul who wants to do his best and help as many people as he can.
Brave - A deeply rooted sense of what’s right and a desire to help others form the foundation of Glenn’s bravery. It isn’t that he doesn’t experience fear; he does, but he faces it with a determined outlook and pushes through. Glenn won’t let danger, or grief, or hopelessness stop him. He will confront hardships with courage and conviction. He’s much too modest to think of himself as heroic, but he’d put himself into a position to be that for anyone who might need it, without question.
Approachable – Glenn is a friend to the world. He has an engaging smile and an even temperament that invites all but the most misanthropic into his confidences. Flaws: Deluded – Can a person be
too kind? Glenn certainly puts that theory to the test. He wants to believe the best in people. Glenn
knows that evil exists; he hasn’t managed to avoid it all his life, but he also knows there’s a lot of good out there and he believes that a path for redemption can be found even in some of the worst circumstances. In his effort to protect others and make the world a better place, Glenn opens himself up to be deceived by it.
Willful – Glenn is nothing if not stubborn. When faced with a problem, he doesn’t know when to quit. He might take a break from it to get his bearings again, but that doesn’t mean he’s given up. He can be bullheaded and persistent, with an incessant need to fix every wrong and solve every issue, and he won’t hear arguments to the contrary. Well, he’ll
hear them; he’s not going to block his ears to it, but that doesn’t mean he’ll
listen. Glenn makes his own decisions and sticks to them resolutely.
Hypocritical – “Do as I say, not as I do” might as well be Glenn’s motto. Don’t do that, you’ll be putting yourself in danger. Oh, but Glenn’s fine if he does it for you; he can handle it; don’t worry, he knows what he’s doing. Glenn isn’t deceitful or dishonest, but his desire to help and his need to care for others can lead him into situations that he would caution others away from. Even worse, he’s completely aware of it and stands by his decisions against any argument.
