History
Nemia's parents met when her shifter father, Iskadi, left his solitary life in the forest for one of adventure. Iskadi hopped aboard a ship headed for the newly discovered Belrea, his curiosity in the new lands getting the better of him. While initially he struggled to find work, he eventually found his footing as a scout and tracker for the Academy whenever they needed him. This is where Iskadi met the lightning woman, Nephi. Iskadi and Nephi did not like each other at all at first. Iskadi thinking Nephi was too serious and high strung, and Nephi thinking Iskadi was too casual and flippant. That didn't stop Iskadi from bothering her every moment he was able. Nephi often was put on tasks with Iskadi due to the nature of her research, and with it came a begrudging acceptance of the other. Over time this acceptance would blossom slowly, with each job they were put on bringing them closer together.
Nemia came as a surprise to both of them, the two of them never planning on having children and instead focusing on their careers. While the shock was at first a lot for the two to deal with, they nevertheless stepped up to be loving an supportive parents. Nemia was raised in Valmon, never knowing much about her shifter culture. Her mother and father stayed together and became a powerful research duo, while Nemia was around to learn and grow into a budding scientist.
Nemia is coming to the age now where she needs to find out what she wants to do in order to attend the Academy, but she hasn't any idea what research to pursue. The stress of this has been a bit too much for her, and her ambition is failing her as she racks her brain for what to do. Iskadi suggested she venture forth in order to explore the world and how she can work to help it. Now she is working to set out and possibly go to the land of her father in order to discover her goals to research.
