Info 4th child of Ushiwa and Saeruin and their only son, Ushiruin is growing up in Matori on his families large property. His mom and dad chose a secluded part of the land and are in the process of building a house there.
He has three sisters, one of which was kidnapped before he knew her. Her name is Elaxi and she looked quite similar to him in many ways so he has been told. Kechiri is the only older sister present and if Elaxi is anything like her than 'Ruin cannot imagine having all three sisters in one spot. Daanu (HIs twin sister) and he take turns being an instigator.'
He likes to help his mother in her forge and likes to learn blacksmithing from her as an interest and a hobby.
3 base traits: Fun Loving Controlled Mischeivious Devoted Protective
History: Ushiruin was born in Matori to his loving parents. They all live on his grandparent's ranch. They might eventually move but for now the ranch is a safe (ish) place to grow up. Ushiruin likes to follow both his sister and his Father around and when he is not doing that he is helping his mother with her froge. He likes to work the bellows and stare at the coals as she makes weaponry of the finest qaulity all around them. On quite days they have mini sword fights that no one else knows about.

Class Choice
He was on the beach, on a very overcast and dreary day. The usually blue water roiled a dark and gloomy gray. His sister had been due back from a voyage for quite some time and he was more than a little worried about her. Something big and nasty was going to roll through, he felt it in his bones. It also brought home his uselessness as a prentice to affect fate in any way. Not that he would usually try. But his family was the most important thing to him that and being rowdy when he could. He missed Kechiri, missed the friendly ish competition for everything that they shared. At least Elaxi was back but she was still delicate which was quite understandable. She was like ice where Kechiri was fire, burning unabated, unapologetic fire. He stared out to see, wishing to see the black sails and brightly painted hull of the Sea Wasp tacking into harbour. The harder he looked the more he was disturbed that it was not there. Had something happened? Would they get caught in the storm? Where they caught already? What could he even do. All they had on shore was the little boat that brought people and supplies back and forth. It wouldn't stand much chance beyond the breakers. He felt like wasps crawled beneath his skin and all of a sudden he couldn't remain still any longer. He rose and brushed the sand off of his bottom. A fine bottom so he thought when he saw it in a mirror. He would take a walk down the beach and maybe just maybe check on his friend Kylaelya. He got literally half way there which was more than a short walk when he remembered that Ky and Fajra, related to Uncle Viltre..if he was an Uncle, the family was so damn big that Ushiruin couldn't remember where everyone fit on the proverbial tree anymore. So they were in fact family as well. But with littles they might not want to be disturbed. In early days he gathered it was important for adults and babies to get as much sleep as possible. The clouds were roiling and dancing aggressively in the sky and he chose to hole up in a beach shelter designed for those caught out during a storm. As the rain started to pound on the rood insistantly like it wanted to come inside, he quickly started the fire as it was about to get very cold. Then he barred the door and sat, shivering until the flames caught decently. These shacks were maintained as mini hunt lodges by his family so there was a bed and a small store of dry food that could be reanimated he supposed was the best word for it as they were all dry. It was assumed that the guest would have their own protien it after all was a hunting lodge/storm shelter. But at least there was the fire and that really counted for something when he was warm and dry and outside decidedly was not. The storm howled and carried on. He dug up the blanket and sipped his tea looking out the makeshift window at the savage storm outside. He wanted to be able to frolic in stuff like that. He had narrowed down his career choices at least and the fury of the storm and its inherent darkness let him know which path was right. He would be a Fathomless warlock. A being with the ability eventually to control water and summon tentacles. Now that just sounded so cool he would actually be a sort of creature of the deep that could walk on like kind of like a Kahi but not. He had always liked magic, he felt it sing through his veins. He must have gotten a good dose from the family. He was sure that they would be disapointed that he did not want to be a beast tamer but well they had more than enough of those in the family that they could skip a generation or two. He grinned. He could sommon tentacles to tease people. Good thing he didn't like squid, after training it would be akin to cannibalism.
The white caps continued to rise and the walls groaned which wasn't unusual. There was not better shelter and no trees nearby that could fall on him so he was relatively safe. There was a cubby under the floor boards that he could crawl in. Having a thought he took the red signal bandana and hung it outside then had to wrestle the door back closed. It was a fierce summer gale, that often happened this time of year. He loved storm season. It felt like the earth was having a temper tantrum just like anyone else could have.
It was a charming ambience and he took out the pen and paper that was his contribution to the hunting lodges and wrote down what had happened that day and the current conditions in the shack and what he would need to replace when he returned later. It was a good system and it helped ensure the safety of travellers and family members alike, most were on their land and so did not get vandalized, course everyone knew they kept some pretty scary critters. Bob could make or break someone's day. Usually break it. That was his favorite. But they had a few smaller problem critters....at least problems for everybody else. He grinned. Critters could smell almost who was beast tamer and who was not or at least related to them or they remembered and read the body language, that was more likely than not. He put the pen down and thought pensively. At least today had helped him figure out what he wanted to do for a career and the storm was really fun to watch. He always did love big waves but the lightning kinda put a damper on any urge to surf. He didn't fancy being barbequed.
There wasn't much left to do now but sleep perhaps and wait out the storm. He felt awfully content with the fresh smell of rain in the air and the cozy if not very comfy mattress. It was better than nothing and he wasn't complaining. The hut was way better than spending the whole wet and miserable night under a bush with a tree ready to drop branches or fall right on his head.

Ushiruin had finally made it home after the storm. It had been an exhausting few days and he collapsed on his bed in relief. Everything at the ranch was going fine and Kechiri had made port, now there was nothing to worry about and he fell immediately into a dreamless sleep. He awoke groggy the next day having perhaps overdone the sleep part but his parents hadn't woken him up so they obviously had come to the conclusion that he probably needed the rest after all of the excitement. He was still young and was reminded by them to not push himself to far until he had the stamina to handle it. As if he could have turned the storm around. He was not that kind of warlock or wouldn't be once he got all trained up. He wondered what his sister Daanu would chose for a career. She was such a fascinating earthling and he adored her like the moon and tide, though sometimes he didn't exactly understand her. She seemed to see things somewhat differently than everybody else, which was a good thing..most of the time.
He stretched then headed for the water for his morning bath. The salt water always invigorated him and he rinsed in fresh water to combat the left over salt, if he didn't his hair went wild and did what it wanted without him having much control at all after. The beach was still wet after the dousing yesterday and it stuck in the way sand usually does when its wet. It was the one downside to sand, that and its abrasive abiility should you be foolish enough to put your sandy feet in your shoes and walk around. It was a constant threat in Matori, but at least the wet prevented the sand from blowing up as it was still rather windy.
He came into the house and immediately set about making food, he was still growing and he was ALWAYS hungry. He whipped up a few eggs courteously donated by the birds that dwelled on the ranch and put some spinach and cooked shrimp in to make a very healthy omelette. Then because he adored carbs he cooked some potato hashbrown in the grease left over from last nights dinner. Not too shabby considering he had missed family breakfast. It no doubt tasted a bit better than his but his parents were both very good cooks. He proceeded to stuff his face and sighing when he was full he leaned back in his chair to consider what he was going to do for the rest of the day.

Ushiruin was having a relaxing day. He had thought to himself that after all of the drama he had recently been through with all the storms it might be nice to just relax at home for a while. He and Tahnee had been rescued from their island when the storm settled down enough for Kechi to come get them with her larger ship. They had been okay but a bit put out at the results of their fishing trip. He liked rustic camp situations but he preferred to have a bit more stuff the next time that happened. Thankfully it was almost the end of storm season. He was taking it easy at home, wrapped in a blanket and provided with tea he was taking some time to recover from multiple trips where he got caught in storms. It had unfortunately resulted in a minor cold and he was nursing a stuffy nose and a lack of energy. He was at least being spoiled and Tahnee was not worse for wear. Soon enough with some rest and warm fluids he would be back to himself again. He loved storms, loved the whole vibe but for now he would be glad to wait until next storm season.
Shivering he tugged his blanket closer and waited for the family hot soup to be ready. His eyes drifted closed and he napped on and off for the rest of the evening until the soup was ready. He got some reading in and enjoyed a small break from having to do chores, though he did still see to his own animals as he was still able to stand but everyone else took up the slack understanding the stress his body had been under over the last few weeks. They had also caught colds before. 300

It was his turn to do some foraging and hunting for the family dinner. He felt like having crab, so off he went with his trusty crab traps and set them up to be checked later. Once everything was in order he went off into the bush to see if there was any wild game or fresh veggies and herbs to be found in the surrounding area and beaches. Usually the ocean and forest had plenty to share and today was no different. It was a healthy ecosystem and with that came temporal abundance if not variety at any given point. He gathered up everything he would need for the sides along with a quick stop at the garden because it did not sadly provide potatoes and that was the side dish he was craving at the moment. He had always found it fun to dig for potatoes you stick the fork in the ground and hope you dont stab a tatter. Then you lift it and wiggle it. Next he pulled the plant out and sometimes it had small potatoes still attached. Then he would root around in the loosened soil and find more. It was like an edible treasure hunt every time and for some inexplicable reason, that delighted him greatly.
After he had dug the potatoes he went back and checked the crab traps. Also sort of like treasure hunting but in this case the treasure had a bad temper and was a bit pinchy. He had decent luck with the crab traps, course on the ranch they had a lot to use as bait and good bait was half the battle with the rounded crustaceans. He gathered them up to take home and clean. It was satisfying to hear them thump into the bucket. He smiled. 300

Ushiruin was taking a turn in the records room. He didn't often take on this job now that they had Viltre around to hiss everyone out of his way. But he was out doing..Viltre things and someone had to come in here and update. He found it relaxing because he could organize and take his time getting everything in order. Then methodically and thoroughly he would go through it and make sure everything was accurate. They had many records and beast files plus financial stuff and were also working on establishing a village at some point. That took a lot of Kiyelt's time and energy and no small amount from his father, aunts and uncles. He was blissfully not a part of the villagy stuff and looked forward to adventures sooner rather than later. He was due for an Oba and Sauti trip and was planning them out while he did the other paperwork. It was relazing in a way that let his mind exercise and his hands keep busy. He would spend hours in here and often did. He didn't get many complaints from the people who sorted and updated after so he must be doing a decent job. Today it was mostly beast sale files and there were a ton of them. He double checked prices against the family balance and made sure records were updated and accurate. Then he would check the training files out of curiousity to see if they got what they put into the critters. There were four experienced tamers and a few that were close enough if their job titles didnt exactly match. Ein was on par with Ushi and the rest. He liked critters, but he didn't like selling them after so his critters he kept for the most part. Soon enough the paperwork was done and he left the room to go relax. 312

Ushiruin was not feeling very social. He had just spent a long time at the family reunion and there was a ton of family which was nice but at this point he was all peopled out. So he decided to go out on walkabout in the bush. Soon enough he heard strange noises and decided to climb a tree just in case. It was fortuitous that he did so because soon after a large pink snaptrotter came into view. It didnt look like it had a master so it was likely that it was a wildling. Excellent. What good timing. He dropped down onto its back and held on while the beast bucked and rocked and hissed. It was a large healthy male and he felt like it was a worthy catch if he could manage it. It bucked him off quickly and he scrambled back and back up a log and into the tree. The snapper came closer and looked up into the tree. It hissed at him and he grinned. A spirited beast!
He wanted it even more now. He had this feeling like this would be the beast for him. His best friend. Or one of them. He tended to form very strong bonds with few beasts. Like Thallassa and Myr. He dropped again and the beast threw him and charged. Ushiruin had to think quickly and scrambled for cover. It was this part of taming that was the hardest and required luck and skill to complete. He had to tire the beast out before being able to tame him, he needed to get a jaw rope on if he didn't want to get seriously hurt so the moment he safely could he scrambled back and climbed again swiftly, nearly loosing an ankle to the beast in the process. This time he dangled the rope and teased the beast until they got a jaw rope around the upper jaw and quickly tied it to a branch that he was NOT sitting on for the record. This would help him tire the beast out in relative safety so long as the branch never broke. It didn't and eventually he was able to get closer and secure the lower jaw rope. Then the beast was tiring quickly and he was able to pin the head until it admited defeat. It would still take time to gentle him and it had been the fight of his life that he had almost lost to this magnificent creature but he had also been trained by a snaptrotter specialist so it was less dangerous due to experience but not in the sense of it being raw nature. He led the defeated snaptrotter slowly home to the barn where he put him in a large open concept stall. He didn't want him to escape but it was a wild one and had never been enclosed before. The largest stall was a happy medium for him. He could see the sky through the sky light and there were eye ports at face level so he didn't feel so enclosed or at least that was the point in any case. He always wondered how the critters felt when they had to be contained he knew he hadn't liked being grounded all that much but usually he deserved it. He brought some of the best food the ranch had to offer and dedicated himself to spending a lot of time with his new giant snapper. He hadn't thought of a name yet. But maybe one of his sisters could help name him. The critter was super masculine but a lovely pepto pink color with white mottling and blotches. 611
