A loud bang! rang out against the roaring of the ocean, and Corporal Fae-Fae was swiftly propelled flat on her back. It was a clumsy, risky move for sure, firing point-blank at a boulder -- but a smile broke out on her face regardless, and she giggled a bit as she sat up. After spending some more time fine-tuning her weapon, she was getting the results she wanted. It had been worth taking the time to travel out to the beach. She had found a secluded spot abundant with rocky structures to practice on.
Some pain in the back of her skull suggested it was time for a quick break. Setting her weapon down, she decided to retrieve her Source Stone and give her body a quick pass over it before any bruises could form. It wouldn't do to come home all banged up and make Aliez worry.

The hell's hunting all the way out here? Waru was so damn distracted by the startling sound, the way it echoed even over the waves, that he nearly swallowed seawater for it; spat a mouthful of brine and baby-sharked his way straight back to shore. Quick squelching steps up to where he'd left his things - the pocketful's of mussels went into a half-full bucket of seawater. It got snagged up with the rest of his s**t, shirt, pack, pen, tablet.
Cause as outta the way as the locale was? There were occasionally crazies. Better to save his haul n get gone, then get shot for -- who knew what. Waru wasn't willing to test his luck. The low tide pools n swells of rocks that ran sheer up n out; it made for a lovely little grotto, all tucked away from the main thoroughfare of loud jet skies n swaths of people rolling in.
No one wanted to play in the rocks after all. Not amongst all those waves.
At least that was what he thought ---
All his broil centric dreams were quickly tossed aside for the sight of lavender pastel n Miami-Sunset glow. He was struck by it. Stood stunned, all deer in the headlights *duh*, n dragged on bat-wings n dreads so fast he nearly tripped over his own feet doing it.
Why didn't they have auras? What the heck was with that gun -- " Why do you all look so cool? Like -- " n damnit, now he missed Alexa, again. She'd liked pastels n aliens n softly colored sweaters. "--whatever, nevermind, wait, no, " her everything was so damned shiny, n he coulda just turned heel n left! It would've been easy even! He just had to ignore -- "was that you shooting before? Can you do it again!"
Alluv his thoughts of leaving got thrown straight out the proverbial window, as his stuff hit the ground, the bucket full of dinner far more carefully - he needed those babies alive after all, but they could sit for a second.
He was too hooked on the strange beauty of the scene. He wanted to know what it did. There'd been battles, hills, ceremonies, and then ******** all of nothing in the aftermath. Like, the actual hell!? Honest to Gods 'Not Senshi' popped up on their planet and any other thing about them got snuffed out like a candle in the wind?
Not that he cared! But there was a big shiny toy gun?! He hadn't known the aliens had lasers on them! Lasers that went bang? Even ******** better!

Fae-Fae bristled at the voice, immediately worrying that she'd been spotted by a human -- but she turned around, and saw one of the Negaverse's senshi, all wide-eyed and excited at her. She certainly wasn't expecting to find a Negaverse agent all the way out here, where there was no energy or star seeds for them to harvest, and it gave her pause to encounter one being so jovial. After meeting the Queen, and being escorted by that youma, and seeing the Dark Kingdom, it had been easy to stereotype them all as grim and calculating beings.
This senshi was the total opposite of that. Perhaps more surprising to her was that the gaping dark hole in his chest didn't seem to bother him at all. Wouldn't something like that hurt? She tried not to let her eyes linger on it for too long, and it took some effort to not let her gaze get pulled back in.
Diplomacy, diplomacy. They were still in an alliance with the Negaverse. She had to mind her manners. The senshi had approached freely, and appeared friendly. It was most practical to respond in kind.
"Hᴇʟʟᴏ," she said, offering a smile that was at least in part sincere. Her new acquaintance's enthusiasm was infectious even though he was a stranger. "I ᴀᴍ Cᴏʀᴘᴏʀᴀʟ Fᴀᴇ-Fᴀᴇ ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ Vᴀɴɢᴜᴀʀᴅ. Yᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ ɪɴᴛᴇʀᴇsᴛᴇᴅ ɪɴ ᴍʏ ᴡᴇᴀᴘᴏɴ?"

Full head-tilt for the new sound, all delighted intrigue to have her attention on him. ********>, he preened a little bit as he carefully closed the distance, shoved his hair some manner of out of the way. It all dragged behind, sofft shiff, n metal tine, making little swirly lines over his steps.
"S'nice to meet you Fae-Fae! M'Albite, Eternal Senshi of Abs - Binding - Retribution, takeyourpick. N I am very, very, very interested in your..uhm...Hell, your everything!" all exagerated play, wound round genuine excitement. Why lie n hide the truth when he wanted every bit of whatever badassery she was? There was no reason to at all. Queen'd said something about -- playing nice? Whatever - he'd always gotten on well by doing his own thing anyhow. Someone'd tell him one way or another if n when he inevitably ******** up.
His excitement only grew to learn she was a guard, rocked his heels a bit deeper into the sink of the sand. Cause that sounded so cool! She lived in a van!? No, no, wait "You guard a van? I mean, suppose it makes the gun make sense. No better way to guard something then with a little bit of bang on your side, yeh?" he wondered how big it was, if it was a cosmic van, would it have had wooden side paneling? Have been spaceship shaped? Heck, did it hold all the aliens inside of it! All the things he didn't know, but he wanted to!

"I ᴅᴏ ɴᴏᴛ ɢᴜᴀʀᴅ ᴀ ʜᴜᴍᴀɴ ᴠᴇʜɪᴄʟᴇ,", Fae-Fae said, an honest smile breaking out in spite of her caution. "I ɢᴜᴀʀᴅ ᴍʏ ᴘᴇᴏᴘʟᴇ." This senshi was so friendly and earnest, and combined with the linguistic error he had made, she couldn't help but be reminded of Gavaen. There was something comforting about finding someone so similar to her old friend on such a faraway world.
Noting that Albite seemed entirely ignorant of the Vanguard, she began to patiently explain. "Tʜᴇʀᴇ ᴀʀᴇ ᴍᴀɴʏ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴏғ ᴜs ᴛʜᴀɴ ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ sᴇᴇɴ ʜᴇʀᴇ ᴏɴ Eᴀʀᴛʜ. Wᴇ ᴀʟʟ ʟɪᴠᴇ ᴏɴ Vᴇʟᴇɴᴄʏᴀ, ᴀ sʏɴᴛʜᴇᴛɪᴄ ᴘʟᴀɴᴇᴛ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴀʟsᴏ ғᴜɴᴄᴛɪᴏɴs ᴀs ᴀ sʜɪᴘ." Which meant it was something of a vehicle, she supposed... just not one of the ugly, smelly, wobbly, and altogether nausea-inducing atrocities that lined the streets of Destiny City. She was grateful for that.
"Tʜᴇ Vᴀɴɢᴜᴀʀᴅ ᴘʀᴏᴛᴇᴄᴛs ᴀɴᴅ sᴇʀᴠᴇs Vᴇʟᴇɴᴄʏᴀ ᴡʜɪʟᴇ sᴇᴀʀᴄʜɪɴɢ ғᴏʀ ᴏᴘᴘᴏʀᴛᴜɴɪᴛɪᴇs ᴛᴏ ʀᴇsᴛᴏʀᴇ ᴏᴜʀ ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴀʟ ʜᴏᴍᴇᴡᴏʀʟᴅ, ᴡʜɪᴄʜ ᴡᴀs ᴅᴇsᴛʀᴏʏᴇᴅ ʙʏ ᴀɴ ᴇᴍᴘɪʀᴇ ʟᴏɴɢ ᴀɢᴏ. Yᴏᴜʀ Nᴇɢᴀᴠᴇʀsᴇ ɪs ᴀʟʟᴏᴡɪɴɢ ᴜs ᴛᴏ sᴇᴀʀᴄʜ ғᴏʀ ᴀɴsᴡᴇʀs ᴏɴ Eᴀʀᴛʜ." She couldn't bring herself to mention that Caedus was the specific 'answer' the Negaverse was letting them search for. Leaving out that detail meant that, potentially, there was one less person searching for his star seed.
Then, she turned her attention more fully to the senshi. "Iᴛ ɪs ᴀ ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴜʀᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴇᴇᴛ ʏᴏᴜ, Aʟʙɪᴛᴇ. Iғ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ ɪɴᴛᴇʀᴇsᴛᴇᴅ ɪɴ ᴍʏ ᴡᴇᴀᴘᴏɴ..." A playful look started to tease at the corners of her eyes. "Tʜᴇʀᴇ ɪs ᴀ ᴛᴇᴄʜɴɪᴏ̨ᴜᴇ I ʜᴏᴘᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴀsᴛᴇʀ. Aɴ Eᴛᴇʀɴᴀʟ sᴇɴsʜɪ ɪs ᴀɴ ᴇxᴘᴇʀɪᴇɴᴄᴇᴅ ғɪɢʜᴛᴇʀ, ʏᴇs? Pᴇʀʜᴀᴘs ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴀɴ ᴀssɪsᴛ."

Eyes impossibly wide, Albite was all sorts of extra awestruck while his imagination ran wild. A whole-a** space caravan! Traversing the galaxy in search of premium fuel, or missing car-parts, or -- a warp drive? All that he could glean from the slew of words was that her people sounded like they were on one very important road trip to bring home the most necessary of milks. He hoped they found it, whatever they were looking for that Earth might've held secret. Seemed like their one little bio-sphere of a melting pot was the hottest location; attracted extraplanar beings of all kind! Including the hotter-n-hell Miami detective variety.
Rather then butcher her ability to believe in him distinguishing her people from her mothership? He nodded along silently. Closed that distance between them with a few more steps, only to realize belatedly just how fecking tall she was - How long'd it been since he'd had to look up at someone!? Were all aliens also amazons...
She probably needed a watch tower to keep an eye on all the people she was guarding, if they were even half as tall as her. A step stool wouldn't've done it, insofar as vantage points went.
But those were very much questions for later...
"Awwh, Fae-Fae! You had me at 'Hello', but asking me to help, with a Weapon of all things? Oh, that is just - top shelf goodness for my day out!" oh and she thought he was experienced too!! Albite brimmed with hell-yes energy, gave her the most eager of smiles, because assisting was definitely something he could do! "That is to say I'd be damned happy to do whatever you need."

This would certainly prove to be interesting. Lately, most of Fae-Fae's training sessions had mostly been target practice exercises with other blaster-wielding Vanguardians. She had almost no experience with senshi, or their abilities -- besides that orange senshi whose powers left her nauseated and heaving on the ground, something she remembered with a grimace. Hopefully Albite's abilities wouldn't be so unpleasant.
"A ғᴇᴡ ᴍɪɴᴜᴛᴇs ᴏғ sᴘᴀʀʀɪɴɢ sʜᴏᴜʟᴅ sᴜғғɪᴄᴇ. I ᴀᴘᴘʀᴇᴄɪᴀᴛᴇ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴀssɪsᴛᴀɴᴄᴇ!" her ComTech sang brightly. "Iғ ɪᴛ sᴜɪᴛs ʏᴏᴜ, ᴡᴇ ᴄᴀɴ sᴛᴀʀᴛ ɪɴ ᴛᴇɴ sᴇᴄᴏɴᴅs."
She bounded back among the rocks to set a reasonable distance, and waited. Her opponent outmatched her in power, and likely also in experience, so there would certainly be plenty to learn from this match.
MOOD: Love you long time! ACTION:*How close is too close?* TARGET: Beat-Cop Fae-Fae!
"Oh, suits me better than the worlds finest seamstress Fae-Fae, you're on!"
*Wait-a-hot-second...Did I just agree to get shot at?!*
The lilting jangle of her voice set him nodding though. Whatever fleeting thoughts of self-awareness he had would be scoured over at another time; considering how quickly they were lost in the sort of agreement that set his dreads asway through the sand. Patternless coils -- he took his cue from her taking distance; found a stance -- loose limbed readiness, and indulgent grinning.
Then started counting. 'To ten' became a Mississippi count in his head - became something to say out loud - because fairness, obviously! "Eight -- N i n e -- TEN!" and where Albite had been? Blink and you missed it gone-ness, leaving only shallow prints and smeared sand. His eager form once was - then wasn't - but from overhead Fae-fae's position? A large shadow appeared --

Albork does a dodge~ Did I mention I love your dice mechanics!?!
MOOD: Excited ACTION: Attack (Miss due to successful dodge) TARGET: Albite
Just a moment in, and this already felt far different from her training matches with Velyria. The experienced Commander had been patient, attentive, and methodical, helping her train her body to move like a warrior one step at a time, over and over again. This, however, was wild and spontaneous, the kind of scenario Fae-Fae worried she could never handle.
Against this more powerful and experienced opponent, she was at an obvious disadvantage, and yet her blood was rushing without a care for the risk. Her eyes darted after Albite's practiced movements and, as the shadow eclipsed her, she fired her weapon -- another dramatic bang! rang out against the waves.
It was an impressive shot, but didn't even graze a dreadlock.
MOOD: The Happiest! ACTION: Gotti! Reel-er-in! TARGET: Long arm of the law, Fae-Fae!
Holy-fukin-fast! - That she'd tracked him between blips? Pinpoint pupils and a wildness to his eyes that suggested joy heightened by adrenaline; a flare of color for the rush of it, the purest sort of fun existed in the flash of sun cross his smile. Even as he realized two things very, very quickly.
Her gun was Real, not a toy.
He could die.
Maybe she'd kick his corpse into the flotsam n brine, walk on off and call it a day. He shouldn't've challenged her to this, not atall, but he couldn't hear his own good sense over the echo and crack of shot rung out through the air. Couldn't help but wonder -- was that a ten-gauge, double barrel? The components, effect, craftsmanship! He had the sort of questions which required a closer look, whose answers were best experienced, live, up-close, and personal!
"Choking Retribution!" phrase laughed with feral glee around weighty landing and skid on sand and mixed rock. He caught his footing just barely while his magic -- the marks that made up his very being; seemingly bone deep. Took life and form and *hunted* the stunning Corporal that dared! Sought long, sturdy limb to reel in so their caster could look his fill. Mark the glow of her eyes hidden neath those strange goggles, see if her blood matched in shades that resembled his own.
Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Choking Retribution! Albites tattoos appear to come alive, slithering off his harm like ethereal magical ribbons. The tattoo ribbons wrap around his intended opponent (pick a body part) and tie the two together for a duration of 20 seconds. The bindings slowly begin to tighten on said opponent, squeezing a bit like a boa constrictor would. Neither is able to escape the other until the magic is ended, or the weak ribbons are severed. He can now use the attack twice in battle, but can still only focus on one target at a time. Effect: Instantaneous Range: 6 Feet Duration: 20 seconds Number of uses: 2 Number of targets: 1
A jolt of dread twisted her stomach when Fae-Fae heard the senshi invoke his magic, and she immediately regretted firing her weapon so eagerly. She'd been caught up in the excitement Albite radiated and forgotten why she'd asked for his help in training, and now she was still waiting for it to recharge.
Just one encounter with a senshi's abilities was enough to teach her that she should avoid being on the receiving end of it whenever she could. With no better options at her disposal, she decided to try jumping out of the way -- and, through some great fortune, managed to escape the animated tattoos before they could grab her.
The move gave the Corporal time and space to unleash a trio of tiny flying drones in Albite's direction. They quickly encircled the senshi's head and buzzed around him, together producing a dizzying cacophony of beeping, ringing and whistling noises -- hopefully enough of a distraction to dampen his next move and give her weapon adequate time to recharge.
Quote:
Helper Bee: A marble-sized flying drone equipped with a MIDI-like sound generator, which can play programmed melodies or other sequences on command. Fae-Fae can deploy up to 3 at a time to distract enemies, send coded messages to allies or entertain herself. They tend to buzz around heads and can dodge attempts to hit them, but are easily destroyed. Each one has a maximum volume equivalent to a smartphone speaker.
MOOD: All sorts of Awed and Into it! ACTION: Spending all his Lash Attack: 10 - 4 = 6dmg to bees. TARGET: Specifically 3x Midi-bees.
He pushed, she moved, and he marveled openly at her agile gait when his magic caught only air -- rippled round nothing and seethed into cessation across his form. Albite was only spurred to follow after; an unfaltering grin as he hit the earthy heavy in her wake crowing for more. The assault of -- were they bees, nettles, nanobots with a grudge!? He didn't know - *didn't care* - winced into a stagger that set his footing even more off for kilter the splinch of pain the headache inducing little bits of tech brought incessantly.
It was fine though, he knew his own abilities well enough to waste them in glorious fashion; allowing the very thought of slashing the itty bits of bug into oblivion flow forth as an animalistic lash of magic. If he bled this attack dry smashing drones - wasn't that just as fun?
The entertainment of an attempt, while not nearly so satisfying as getting his hands on Fae-Fae herself, was still exactly that *entertaining*. Even if there was that hindbrain itch of an idea, a spark of thought, that the leggy alien lass wouldn't be nearly as easy to snare as he'd first assumed.
*What an absolute thrill!*

Super Sailor Scout Attack B:Lash of Retribution! Albite’s tattoos appear to tear from his form, lightning quick, and lash out at his nearest opponent like mindless rabid animals. The magical bindings crack loudly through the air, creating a startling warning noise, just before they coil and yank across the opponent like an angry living whip. The player feels as though they've received a mild rope burn (pick body part) for up to thirty seconds, though no physical or lasting damage is done; only the very uncomfortable mental sensation of such, unless the target’s player wants to sustain any lasting damage. The whipcrack loud noise prior to the attack striking serves as warning so the attack can be dodged. Effect: Instantaneous Range: 6ft Duration: 30 Seconds Usage: 3x Times Targets: 1
