Solitas has a cold climate, which makes it mostly inhospitable to both Humans and Grimm. It's described as easy to get lost in, especially in its tundras. In certain areas, forests such as the Snowbound Forest are capable of growing. Wildlife amongst in Solitas is shown to include prize deer and penguins.
Auroras, or polar lights, are often seen in the night sky of Solitas.

In a valley atop a large mountain there is a Ļάbyŕiήth. It is a mystery how it got there. It seems ancient, yet it's structure seems exquisitely created. A strange thrumming seems to resonate through the area. The air seemed to be electrified. The maze is sheltered from the frozen winds around it, in fact, the winds are warm inside the maze.

Auburn wasn't particularly bothered by the reply she'd gotten. But it did tell her what she wanted to know. Prince wasn't to be trusted. She gave no response to his reply other than a dismissive shrug, but, now she knew there was no relying on aid from him period and to be ready for him to lose his s**t again. She didn't really finish bundling up until they were close, however, she took the time to braid her tail and wrap it around her waist and braid her hair before putting her jacket on.A face mask was provided as well as goggles, though, for the time being, she left the mask down and the goggles up. As they were told they wer nearing their destination, she zipped up her jacket and put her gloves on before pulling the hood up. Both her hair and tail covered by the white winter jacket. As the rear door was opened, she grimaced at the sudden blast of freezing air, but made her way to the edge and leapt out once she could pick out a decent spot to do so. She activated her semblance for just a moment before hittin gthe ground, drawing Judgement off her back and looking around for any sign of activity before shouldering the behemoth of a blade and standing upright, waiting for the rest of the group.

Kesshin shook Inari's hand and nodded with a smile, on the inside he was just glad this was maybe as awkward for Inari as it was for him. He didn't know what happened during their last mission but he could only assume it didn't end well. To him it was sort of relieving knowing that he probably wasn't the only one who could screw up a mission, though in that same vein he hoped they all wouldn't screw up during this one as he hated prolong battle. Prolonged battle had a higher risk of blood shed and the thought of excessive blood just... He took a breath before Prince began to speak to him. Kesshin merely blinked as he listened to this guy talk. Kesshin face kept calm as Prince continued but in actuality Kesshin was a bit in awe. Maybe Prince was used to this, he seemed to already have come up with a plan in those brief moments during the meeting. Kesshin kinda felt like an idiot for not thinking too much about it but maybe Prince was some sort of intellectual or something, which is why he was tasked specifically with the duty of repairs. "Heh, I see why they asked you on this mission. Just let me know if you need any help, I fancy myself a bit of a tinkerer as a hobby, and please Mr. Gaia is... ah- I mean just call me Kesshin, or Kessh does just fine." Something about that phrase felt a bit off... Your father is gone. but he didn't dwell on it.
Before they left, the Colonel assign lead to Kesshin and Prince. At the sound of his name Kesshin's heart dropped internally. He wanted to scream in confusion! He hardly considered himself good enough to bag this job; he'd primarily been doing small time, random, solo jobs and they're giving him seniority?! Was it because he was older? Certainly he couldn't be more experienced. Before he could even protest, he simply sighed as he was ushered out with his supplies, "Why is this happening to me...?" as they were loading Kesshin was silent for a bit, but he thought he should just make it known now, "Hey, so just to let you guys know... I don't have a semblance, didn't unlock it. So if you guys have a problem with that, I suggest you look to Prince for direction." Auburn had all but seemed to ignore their presences, at least from Kesshin's perspective. He didn't know what to make of her yet, but he kinda got the idea that Prince might not be one to watch her back. Regardless of how they thought of him and not having a Semblance, he would still try his best to cover them when needed. With that they were off.
Approaching their destination Kesshin tried to keep himself focused, of course speaking when spoken too whether it was strategy or small talk he hadn't fully put on his mask and goggles, quite frankly he didn't like them too much, but he hated being cold even more. The co-pilot gave his brief summary of where they were dropping them and to keep a look out for Grimm before opening the hatch, "I'm gonna enjoy a nice warm victory meal when this is over, and some hot chocolate with marshmallows." Kesshin grinned as he fully completed outfitting his headgear in place, affixing his goggles to his face securely. Kesshin watched Auburn go first, "Maybe I should at least try and talk to her again..." he wasn't trying to smooth things over with her and Prince or anything, he just figured he try since they'd be watching each others backs... hopefully... watching each others backs. A mask, if need be then I can take the reins. Kesshin grabbed a parachute noting where to pull and removing his gear blade from his waist but not "unsheathing" it, "BrRrRrRr... Lets goooooo!"
Taking his dive out of the plane, he watched Auburn and would note where she landed before waiting to get closer to the ground before releasing his chute. He used the chute's initial open to restrict how fast he was going to the ground, and once he felt more secure he gripped his gear blade tightly having it spring to life before cutting the threads of the parachute before the winds got too perilous. Dropping to the ground he did a rolling tumble to land safely nearly slipping a bit. He was a little off course from Auburn but he would make his way to her, "Well, so far so good... right?" Kesshin took a quick glance at the others making their way and their surroundings. "Straight up ice... and snow, how boring." He gripped the hilt of his blade and it whirled back into a circular gear, he would then place it back to his side. Noting Auburn's weapon Kesshin would nod and in his mind, whistle to himself as he admired it from a comfortable distance, "Nice blade, was is it? Colossal grade? Looks bigger than your average greatsword, and you lift it with such ease." Kesshin was impressed, he hadn't met too many people as strong as he was, she might have even been way stronger than he was given the she leapt from the plane. He didn't try to pry to much, he was still a bit cognizant that she might've been indifferent to his presence and didn't want to be bothered. He would sneak a couple of glances at the workmanship of her blade every now and then as they waited for the others.
Auburn looked over as the one who was named Kesshin followed out after her, taking a much more conservative, but visible method of dropping in. Still no sign of the others though as the young man settled in nearby and looked at her as if judging what her abilities might be. When he spoke though, it was about her sword and she cocked her head before holding the blade out, looking it over. She handled it as if it was a standard shortsword in terms of weight before shrugging."I don't know. Don't really know much about it. Just it's big and good at both cutting and smashing. Didn't really bother asking about it before crushing the last owner's skull."She seemed to realize something at that moment and she shrugged before following up her previous statement with a bit more context."I was a fighting and...prize slave...up until a couple years ago. I got a single slip up in however long I was there from the guards and I took it. Had to kill my way out. One of them was the last owner of this thing. Luckily, he didn't have the strength to use it well."

The group would struggle to see much with the wind. The skies were dark even though it wasn't even quite noon yet. Auburn would be the first to see the radio tower through the frozen gusts.
The wind was picking up with the storm and they definitely needed to get to some sort of shelter. The radiotower was supposed to have a small building at the base and that would be the ideal place.
As the group would make their way towards the tower they would run into the first of what would be many obstacles; a chasm. It was only eight feet across, but with snow it wasn't jumpable. It was where the snow collapsed over what was probably a frozen creek during the summer. It looked like it was twenty to thirty feet down.

As soon as they went on the hangar and onto the jet, they were off for what seemed like a good while strapped in. Prince was the only one who knew hownto fix the radio, and Kesshin as well as Auburn were both literal powerhouses, just by their looks alone. It was until after the hatch door opened, and a strong blast of icy cold win hit Inari, that he was just already regretting this. Still, the cold was nothing new to Inari. He actually welcomed it. "Alright... we got this." He said to himself. Sadly, the image of Tessa came rushing back to his head, but he had to shake it off. This wasn't going to be like last time. Either way, Inari would get his parachute and jump off with the others, landing down safely with the others. It definitely was a total frozen wasteland, with all this snow and ice as well as the strong blowing winds hitting through his coat. He did agree with Kesshin in terms of the warm food and drink, though. "Oh man, I feel you on that... I would give anything for a nice warm bed, surrounded by busty women, and thicc thighs right about now..." He said, just picturing it all in his head. The thought was soon interrupted as soon as the team came across a large chasm, where the snow nearly abstructed the vision to it. This was very dangerous, and could've nearly killed someone. "Huh... I'll scout out ahead. Hopefully I can make this jump." Inari said, getting a running start and leaping over.
"Not much really to worry about. Semblance or no semblance. Long as you can fight it what matters. Besides, I sure you can do well. There's more to you than meets the eye I feel" Prince stated with a simple comment before making sure everything was ready. What did he mean by that? Was there a hunch? Not particularly that he could feed on. It was just logic. They weren't going to send someone just to die. So he had to have some skills somewhere. If he didn't then a random soldier would have been stuck with the group. Either way, they needed to make it. Not much was on the radar at the moment. Making it down with the others and just walking along, he listened to Kesshin being friendly to Auburn but was more worried about the surroundings. Once they made it to the Chasm, he would watch as Inari went to try and jump it first. I could just use my webs and have us walk across easily making it like a net but. Ehhh. I will wait and catch him if he goes flowing away"
Kesshin had no idea what he got himself into when Auburn started talking about her past, she talked so casually one would hardly think it was an ordeal. Though it seemed she put that part of her life behind her, "Oh uh.. thats cool, thats cool..." He was partially relieved that she even spoke to him. He scratched his head before speaking, "I was born in the sands of Vacuo... pretty harsh living conditions out there especially now, but we made do. Some bad stuff happened in my little community, I got separated from my family..." Kesshin hesitated for a moment with a bit of a confused look on his face, "No... thats not right...?" He placed his hand on his temple as he saw the others were finally approaching, "The rest is history." Kesshin said aloud to Auburn. Who are you trying to convince? Fool.
He spotted Inari touch down first. A decent guy at first glance, seemed sort of the ladies man by the way he talked. Maybe he could grab a few pointers from him when the mission was over? The group came across a chasm Kesshin's golden eyes locked in on the gap. Normally clearing this for him shouldn't be a problem, but the frigid blast of wind and constant pelting of snowfall reminded him that this sort of situation was a bit different and the risk in this snowstorm was inherently greater. "Um... I don't-" Inari had already went for the jump, "Do these people know no fear? What are they teaching at that school?!" Kesshin looked over to Prince as he knew Auburn could probably clear the jump with minimal difficulty, based on what he saw at least. "So... do you have a way to get over this? I'm pretty confident Auburn can clear the jump. And well Inari just jumped... so..." Kesshin purposely excluded himself, he did not want to give the illusion that he was capable of making it in these conditions but didn't want to constantly downplay his own ability as well.
Auburn looked deadpan at the guy as he fumbled around with his story. "And I was thrown into a pit of sand regularly to fight to the death. And my only relative is a daughter I only recently learned about that I never intended to have who is now in the hands of the same group that threw me into that pit day after day and used me like a trophy. Probably not the best idea to trade life stories with me. I'll do the job, but, for reasons that would be obvious if you knew much about me, I'm not friendly." She then turned as the others joined them. The white-haired boy was immediately running his mouth and her brow tweaked a bit in annoyance as he started rambling on about his desire for women. She then watched as he simply walked ahead and went for a jump without a second thought about how else things could be done like a complete fool. Prince joined them at the edge as well and she cast a glance at him. She knew he could scale like a spider, it was a total assumption on her end that it might be possible he had webs like one too. Little gross to consider, but, it would be useful. When their mercenary friend chimed in, she shrugged.
"I could have lobbed the kid across with a rope. Or wait to see if Spider Boy had a way across. Or he could have waited for me to do this with a rope." She then dropped her massive sword on the ground and stomped on the grip, scooting it out about four feet over the edge with over two feet remaining on solid ground where she pinned it in place. "I'm not all that smart, but, even I'm not that stupid. If I jump, I already know I can handle the consequences." Considering her blade was as wide as a person, there was definitely room enough to stand on it if one was careful and it was far too thick to bend under the weight of a person. And more importantly, she was more than strong enough to hold it in place for each of the other three to use it and then she could leap across with them holding one end of a rope and her the other just in case.

Inari ▬ Just as Inari was jumping over the chasm his left foot would slip causing him to slam into the side of the chasm wall with just his torso on the edge. He would be able to hold himself onto the edge, but just barely. The snow was fortunately very cold and icy allowing him to have more grip than pure soft and fluffy snow or pure ice would normally allow. But then the ice would give way and Inari would fall into the darkness of the chasm. No sound would be heard of him hitting any walls or coming to a crashing end. He would simply fade away into the darkness

Auburn, Prince, and Kesshin ▬ The storm would continue to rage around them. There was a strange sort of silence after Inari's presence was there and then suddenly stripped away from them, but the silence was internal. The winds crashed against their bodies and threatened to push those who stood tall over.
Behind the group a loud sound rang out. It was so loud that one might mistake it for the deep bellowing of a ship's horn except it wasn't a single constant sound but multiple voices screeching in the distance in both low and high tones. It lasted for a few seconds but then quieted down.
Prince was prepared to try and cath the male but before he could get in position to do som Inari ended up lost in the darkness. Absorbed by the darkness, Prince looked at the ledge and was curious what was going on. Was he dead? Was he gone or was something else there? Using AXIS, a visor would connect onto Prince's face to scan the chasm. He attempted to see if the Chasm was real or if something else was there. It would determine if the male was dead or not. He didn't want to think the man fell to his death. They still had aura. But he needed to know how to approach the next step. "Well, I have away. Semblance plus spider webs to get across safely. Issue is...We now have a missing person. Auburn, try to connect to his scroll. See if he answer or not." He commented before thinking and looking back at the chasm. "I can make a bridge out of my webs so we can get across. We will have to go one at a time. One you two are across. I can just try swing over ina sense.. Think spiderman"
Kesshin, still pondering what he had said to Auburn before, winced behind his mask bringing his hand to his temple as Auburn conversed with him, or chewed him out depending on your take. Despite his throbbing head he continued to listen to her. Her words came off sharp, as cold as the wind that kissed the open parts of his body but... "I'm...- I'm sorry... But I'm glad you decided to share a bit of yourself with me. That is a lot for a anyone to bear." His headache lightened up a bit that he even thought of a joke commenting on her funneling her Semblance into her psyche because it was as strong as her muscle, but she didn't seem like the type for jokes nor was her situation one to joke about... He was still curious about her but he would have to let that die. It steeled him to know that despite all that she was here. In all honesty he was a bit jealous, of both Auburn and Prince, of their personalities. Deep down he was just...
Two solutions presented themselves in the form of Auburn and Prince. Kesshin took a moment of silence for Inari, he didn't know if they would have the chance to look for him so he could only hope for his safety. A strong wind blew and Kesshin's body immediate grounded itself more as it rushed through them slightly making him shiver, "Thats was a pretty strong gust..." immediately after came a shriek that made Kesshin's heart pound and his right hand reflexively grab the gear handle of his sheathed Gear Blade. His head and eyes slowly surveyed their surroundings in contrast to the rapid beating of his heart. Once it was over he turned to the others, "I'd say... maybe conserve your energy Prince. We've only just started and now we're down a man. I'd rather be prepared for the worst and the worst not happen." Kesshin eyed Auburn blade a moment before being the first to try and cross. He kept his hands out to keep his balance just in case they got another strong gust of wind, he was also pretty strong so he was sure he could gird himself, not to mention his sheathed Gear Blade made a pretty nice paperweight for him, "Sometimes the clear approach is the simplest right?" He sighed lightly to himself, "I do wish her sword maybe came with guard rails, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose..."
Auburn honestly hadn't expected anyone to attempt to cross using her sword and cocked her brow a bit as their new acquaintance started off across her sword, seeming to favor her idea over Prince expending his energy. Her hand shot out and grabbed him by the shoulder just before a gust of wind hit."If things go to plan, no one will need to save their energy for a fight. If they don't, that's my specialty. The idiot already jumped and paid the price, if there are other options that don't involve a literal leap of faith, we should probably consider them first. I can lift up to two thousand pounds by myself, I could probably throw someone across with a rope, or we could listen to Prince. Instead of just doing it, we should think about our options. We have no backup out here."
She looked over at Prince to see if he had any input, keeping her hand on the other guy's shoulder in the event the wind picked up so he wouldn't follow Inari into the chasm."You can make a bridge you said. Do you think it will hold up to the winds here? If it can, then that's our only option right now that doesn't involve someone crossing open space without anything to secure themselves. Jumping has been tried without thinking first and now we're down one, I could make the jump easier with or without a safety line for someone else that doubles as a rope the others could use to get across, I could also throw someone with a safety line for the same effect, or this bridge idea. We don't have much else." She looked between the two guys as if cueing them for any further input they might have. "So, if we're not worried about using our energy, which do we feel is the most likely option to get us across safely? I'll admit, planning isn't my strong suit. No proper schooling on my end so, I can't really size up the fine points like math very well. So, I'll leave the call to you two."
