Hobbies

Listening to Music - Music has a calming influence on most people, but for Sitara it actually is invigorating. It helps her to focus her mind as well as spark her creativity. She gets ideas for her own songs and often makes up dances to go along with the music she hears. Music also helps to to better envision the world around her, the words making clear that which her eyes cannot.

Dancing - She likes to lose herself to the feeling of music and one of the ways she does this is by surrendering her body to the dance. She moves with a fluid grace that can only come to one that truly is free of her inhibitions. Her favorite types of dance are slow, soft motions, that flow together in a perfect blend of emotions.

Singing/Writing Music - Though in no way a professional, Sitara takes pride and entertainment in writing her own lyrics to songs as well as the music that accompanies them. She has been known to focus mostly on random dance music, but also has written a few new age/trance mixes just for fun. She can always be heard singing through the halls at school, as well as at home in her back yard and garden.


Pros

Loyal Friend - Sitara has a heart of gold, and when she loves someone it is a good and deep love that spans through time and space. She will fight hard to protect a friend, giving her all and sometime even more than that to keep her friends out of harms way. Sita is the sort of person that will bring you soup when you are sick. She will sit and listen when you are crying, or offer a calming shoulder. She will give those she has claimed as hers, the shirt of her very back, just to keep them safe and warm. Because of her loyalty, she had managed to create a wide network of friends that are more than willing to return the favor.

Calming Influence - Sitara always has an aura around her, not a physical one, but more a feeling of calm that tends to carry over to those that she meets and interacts with. She can bring a smile to the face of most people within seconds, simply by striking up a conversation or offering a sweet smile to them herself. She also tries her best to make all people comfortable when she is around.


Cons

Quiet - She normally keeps to herself, because she knows she's going to be behind in any conversation. Sita needs to sit and process what is being said, and usually by the time she gets to a point of being comfortable expressing a thought - the conversation around her has moved on from the point she just got comfortable about making, and so to save herself the frustration, she tends to just sit and listen and rarely interject. Its not that she wants to be the quiet demure mouse in the corner, she just doesn't see any other way to handle things without frustrating herself and others.

Easily Manipulated - Being a kind and loyal friend can have it's disadvantages. Her loyalty can be used against her, using those friends and loved ones as bait or as agents to convince her toward a different path. She will do anything to keep others safe, even if that means she has to give up something herself


General Appearance

Sitara is a darker-skinned, mixed race, female. Her mother is of Indian descent and her father is Black.

She has red eyes and black hair that falls down her back in heavy waves. Her hair stops at her tail bone.

She normally dresses in a mash up of Modern/Hindi style clothing, being most comfortable is looser fitting, yet stylish attire.

- Sitara is legally blind. She is fully blind in one eye and the other functions at 100%. Her depth perception and long distance vision are affected by this.

- She is named after the Sitar; a musical, string instrument that her grandmother plays quite well. Her grandmother use to play music for Sitara to fall asleep to.

- Her nickname "Sita" comes from the name is the female heroine in the Hindu epic the "Ramayana".
