3 Base Traits: Self-centered, Materialistic, Intrepid
Personality: updating Zuribali is currently quite focused on her own interests and experiences. She’s not exactly going around thinking she’s better than everyone else, but that's close enough as the mental dynamic of being queen in her own world reigns supreme. Of course, having grown up being told she’s special on a regular basis by two protective and loving mothers only encouraged such a mindset. Being in her own world more often than not, Zuri finds herself seeking things that are more likely to create a peaceful environment for her. Since people usually don’t fall into that category, she prefers to find joy with material goods. Still, some people are good to get play nice with for achieving those materials. As she grows, she is finding more and more value in exploring the world around her. With a newfound love for singing, she is eating up every lesson she can afford. Learning a new trade isn't making her any more humble yet.

Starting History:
Zuribali’s mothers are Hildaclea (Elarian) and Cushowa (Oban). Both were born with wild hearts, but only Hildaclea was able to act on it once she came of age. The Elarian traveled to Oba, where she tried to apply her smithing skills to help spread Elarian craftsmanship. Cushowa is a noble born resigned to the expected path of ‘get married, make babies, blah blah blah.’ When she saw Hildaclea on an errand for her father, Cushowa was immediately entranced. The least she could have hoped for was a new and interesting friend. What she ended up with was a love that she had to cherish in secret. Of course, word eventually got out about the couple, and Cushowa was banished from home. A friend in the servants slipped her some of the family funds, and she lived quite happily with Hildaclea for about a year. The pair decided they wanted to expand their family, and thus started their trip to Yael to meet Hildaclea’s family and Elzira. The reception was a mixed basket, but Hildaclea’s mothers were understanding and made them welcome. The pair was beyond elated to receive the news that a blossom was sprouting just for them. While staying in Yael might have been easier, the mothers decided to go back to Oba with their little baby girl. Either way would find her met with the expected mix of wonder and scorn, but Hildaclea had honestly fallen for the dry deserts almost as much as she had for her wife!
Zuribali has only known Oba personally, but her mothers made certain she learned the full extent of her heritage. At her age, the Aishan species is that distant relative that she respects but doesn’t give much active thought to. The complex history is fascinating to the youngling, but she won’t delve much deeper into that until she’s older and able to explore further and see beyond her own front door.

Prentice – Class Affinity Solo Minstrel
The decision to work at the performing arts school had simply been about the money and the prestige for Zuri. A wealthy and well respected workplace would surely benefit her in great ways! The work itself wasn’t anything glamorous; tedious but simple enough. Transfer numbers, file papers, get the right forms to the right sections of the school, and repeat. It got her some coins in her pocket and connections in her bag.
Then she started to actually look at what happened around the school. She watched the dancers spin so gracefully, and the painters create art from splotches of color, and the sculptors mold blocks of clay into beautiful figures. So many different forms of art were being performed here! Her favorite to watch though, to listen to, were the singers. She started making a point of dropping off papers to the auditorium when she knew the singers were in session.
One of those visits changed everything for her.
“So are you just going to watch all the time?” a playful voice asked.
Zuri looked over and locked eyes with a handsome iceling whom she recognized as one of the students. One of the more skilled, well-known students… Anyone who paid any attention to these classes would recognize him, and she certainly did. Whatever snippy retort she had been planning vanished from her mind. She inhaled sharply and composed herself. “Well, what else would you expect me to do? I hardly have time to linger as it is.”
The student, Pakka, chuckled and cocked his head toward the stage. “For starters, you could sign up for lessons with the rest of us. Then, you would get up there and show us what you’ve got.”
Zuri stiffened up with surprise. Somehow, that wasn’t what she had been expecting. “You want me to try singing? What for?”
After his own surprised look, Pakka laughed and shook his head. “Why? Why not? Isn’t it worth it to learn more about the things you find interesting?” A teasing but playful smirk rose on his lips. “Though, perhaps you need a bit more motivation than just having fun?”
Simply to learn about it? What would that get her? Zuri sighed and gave a short nod. “This school isn’t exactly cheap. If I’m putting such funds toward something, I would certainly expect more of a return than simply enjoying myself.”
Pakka nodded along with an amused grin lingering. “To be fair, I’m not here just for the fun of it either. I have every intention of using the skills I learn here to create a career. I’m going to be one of the most popular singers in Tendaji! I’ll be getting requests to sing from Jauhar all the way to Belrea!”
The man’s eyes had lit up with passion as he spoke, and Zuri couldn’t help a pleased giggle to cover the stutter of her heart. “That is quite the lofty goal, Pakka,” she mused with approval. “If I were to become famous, I would prefer to stay in Oba and let everyone come to me.” She looked over at the stage and felt a rare hesitation rise. She’d never tried singing in front of anyone before. As confident as she generally was in herself… what if she wasn’t good enough?
Pakka noticed the look Zuri gave the stage and his grin calmed with understanding. “Well, I think you should give it a try. You’ll never know what, or who, could be waiting for you if you don’t take that first step.” Quickly, his grin came back and he gave Zuri a small nod. “That’s just my opinion though. You’re free to do as you please.”
“Of course I am.” Zuri huffed. As if she would let someone else make her decisions for her! Still… “Thank you for your suggestions. I.. really will give it some consideration.”
Pakka’s face lit up again, and he nodded happily. “Good. Hope to see you around, Zuribali.”
Zuri couldn’t help staring as Pakka walked away. This was their first interaction, but he knew her name? ..Clearly, she was becoming known around the school without even trying! Success!
