Terrwyn is a fairly to herself type of person. Not just because she learned early on that her stepmother wasn't the best person to let know your feelings but because she didn't want to burden her older siblings. She is the quiet one of the family and won't make a big fuss about much, if anything. The best way to get her to open up and come out of her shell is to talk to her about something she really likes, i.e. Hunting or animals.
Viltre and Niiemh are her full biological siblings and by default her favorites, though she does like Acyn quite a bit since he also doted on her when she was little. She still looks at Noamh as Nii's twin even if she now knows that they came from different mothers. She gets along pretty well with Sorin and Dusan so long as they are at home. Aelyn is always fun to watch. Terrwyn is indifferent to Antin and Fajra
When it comes to Merle her relationship is complicated. Terrwyn never knew her mother, as Jenesa died during childbirth with her. Merle is the only mother figure she has ever known, apart from her older sister, so she has some love for the woman. She knows that Merle isn't her actual mother and generally tries to stay out of her way. When it comes to Kuloma, her dad's mistress, she doesn't seem to feel one way or the other. And while she loves her dad, he is hardly around.
Over the years she has learned to be patient. Things may take time. Terrwyn picked up the skill in full when she started hunting. It was a good thing to learn as sometimes it would take hours to come across a beast on a hunt. Or if one was waiting for a trap to be sprung it might be a while before an animal happened by. While she mostly uses her patience on hunting trips it does come in handy when dealing with her large family and all its inside drama.
Terrwyn is a dedicated member of the Kavensei family. She has some pride in the name for the simple fact that she does love her siblings. While she may not agree with the methods used by the matron she knows that that title will one day be passed along to Acyn's wife and she has high hopes that whoever her eldest brother picks will be much better.
In public she behaves as one would expect as a member of her family, proper and well educated. Terrwyn does all that she can to avoid hurting her family name more than it already is.
Terrwyn willingly followed in her father's footsteps and took a lover while married. While she originally had no intention of doing so she did not want to be used in her step-mother's schemes. She is still part of the Kavensei family but she fears what her siblings will think of her choices.

Terrwyn's place in the family is complex. She is the third child of Vulir and Jenesa. That makes her an illegitimate member. She is the second daughter but over all she would be the seventh born.
Unfortunately, her mother died in childbirth with her so she never got to meet her. Terrwyn doesn't even know what her mother looked like. All she has to go on are the memories of her older siblings and some of the servants that remember her. Often times she feels guilt for the loss of her mother, thinking that she might have taken from Viltre and Niiemh.
Growing up she knew Merle as her 'mother.' Of course her older sister was more motherly in the end and as such often was who Terrwyn went to when she needed comfort. Due to this she recalls calling Nii 'moma' at one point but when Merle found out she yelled and told Terrwyn that she was to never do so again. (She would learn later on that Niiemh had told Merle that it had been Nii's idea and that she'd made Terrwyn call her that so that all the punishment would fall on Nii.)
Having a father who was mostly absent made her try to do things that would impress him from afar so that he would show up and tell her how good she was. So that meant that she tried her hardest with her lessons so that she'd get good marks. When that didn't work she took up archery, thinking that if she were talented in something important then he would notice. While it didn't work either she discovered she really liked it and continued. This led to her deciding to help out with the fur business.
In her preteen years she started to go out with the servants and hunt. She wasn't allowed to go near the big game but she did get to help out with the smaller stuff like rabbits. Terrwyn learned how to set live traps as well as how to lead her prey with an arrow so that she didn't ruin the fur with a hole in the middle of the best parts. She learned the most from one of the servants called Ingrad. The woman was amazing with traps and even more so with a skinning knife.
