User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Name: Odina
Stage: 2 - Blade
Race: Aishan - Vandrea
Gender: Female
Base Traits: Dedicated || Strong || Resilient
Personality: Odina is a dedicated individual that places duties above all else. She is dedicated to those who earn her respect, mostly other Aishans as she looks down on earthlings as weaker. Despite everything she does have a place in her heart for her family, though their differences frustrate her which has been distancing her from the wanderers in her family as of late. She isn't purposefully cruel, but can be a bit off putting towards outsiders who try to get too close to those that she cares for because she does tend to be overprotective, especially as she grows older. As the third daughter in her family she wants to try to prove that she can be just as strong as her older sisters and works very hard to make her place in the world. Even more so now that she feels like the only one to truly stay and defend their home. She's resilient and endures far more than most even to the point of actually crashing before giving up and asking for any help. As a blade she continues having that stubborn spirit, training and working nonstop to hone her skills as one of the toughest Vandrea warriors ever seen.

History: Born to Danika and Vermina on Chiume, Odina has never questioned her mothers' history and their decision to venture off into their own version of retirement from the rest of the world. She has learned from others that there was a deeper past for her mothers and from history lessons has learned about the wars that existed in their world before this new era of peace. Even though there are still some tensions here and there Odina knows to just enjoy life while things are quiet and is determined to grow up strong just in case another darkness rises so that she can fight against it. It keeps her dedicated to Chiume, rarely wandering outside of it save for rare supply trips into the nearby earthling town.

Recently she has been convinced to visit Jahaur for a spell, spending time with more experienced warriors for training.

❦❀❦ The Story So Far... ❦❀❦

Odina was bloomed with a sister, Seiong, on Chiume. She was raised with much love from her whole family and never questioned their differences nor the secrecy of the past that seemed to linger around her mothers. Everyone was kind to them and while her family did not live exactly within the camp on Chiume they were close enough to visit other Sisters and enjoy time together. Most of her childhood was playing with her sisters and training as she was determined to become the greatest warrior ever known.

Like her family she is open to relations with other races and enjoys traveling since she has spent a portion of her time between Chibale and Chiume.

❦❀❦ I'll be a great warrior! ❦❀❦

The great trees of Chiume shimmered like glossy metal in the moonlight. The Vandrea youngling absolutely adored how the pale hue from the moon drifted across the wide expanse of forest that covered the coast of her race’s island. Everything was kissed by the silvery light of the stars and the moon that floated lazily above in the night sky and as a result there was more so a silver sheen to the world tonight instead of the usual emerald and sapphire hued grasses and leaves found growing in abundance during the warmer, spring season. Others perhaps would have found themselves enjoying such sights better from the comfort of their homes where blankets and family awaited to offer them comfort but this youngling rather enjoyed waltzing about in the clearing near her family home instead. A pair of training sticks were in her hands and she clutched them tightly in each bandage wrapped fist, the bandages protecting her hands from the countless blisters she had earned in the past weeks from training so often. After all Odina knew that her playing days were quickly falling behind and she was eagerly working towards getting stronger than any other warrior on the island. Perhaps a childish dream but one that she was determined to continue working towards as she continued growing older until she could finally travel the world like her elder sisters. Others would laugh at her and just say that she was really into playing warrior but every moment was completely sincere for Odina. She was not about playing around like other younglings, especially now that she was already close to her teenage years! Odina was notorious for sporting a frown more than any giggle or silly smiling expression and she hated when others just gave her a small pat on the shoulder as if dismissing her abilities. “I’ll show them all!” Odina vowed to the quiet forest, her golden gaze gleaming with determination as she whacked her training sticks over and over again against the smaller target she had set up. Over and over she would dart back and forth from the target before attacking it with vigor. Such training had been picked up from watching her older sisters and Odina did her best to always attack the target at least seven times before darting back away. One, two, three, four, five, six and seven! Panting, the youngling crossed the sticks before her and pushed against the dummy as if blocking off an enemy’s charge. She had also seen the older sisters doing that when they trained in pairs and while they would not let a youngling join in on the training exercises seriously it was enough for Odina to just watch and learn from a distance before training by herself. Everyone would be so surprised whenever she finally became old enough to join in on their lessons! Odina felt confident that she would end up acting like one of the older students instead of being one of the beginners. Already she was ahead in size and strength when she compared herself to others her age and she was determined to keep running past even the older teens. Of course her opinions could be strongly biased but Odina never lacked confidence!

And at least her mothers allowed her to play around like this now. Odina was truly thankful that her mother had allowed her to start training in this smaller area near home now that she was almost a teen. Her mother had agreed after countless hints and requests that as long as she stayed within the boundaries of their home along the outskirts of Chiume it was fine for her to come out and train like this by herself. The only other main rule was that the moon just could not be beyond the northern star because that would mark the deepest hours of night when the more dangerous creatures could be out and about. Around this time, however, Odina knew that it was fairly safe enough to train as long as she kept an eye on the stars and listened to her surroundings. The almost full moon had just risen a little while ago and the sun had only just dipped below the horizon when she first left home after dinner. Surely it had not been that long since she had started training and she could still hear the faint chirps of insects and smaller creatures running about the forest floor. If something huge and scary came into the area then things would be much quieter, that much she was certain of unless there was like a random stampede of creatures or something crazy like that. Plus, her mother was probably around the corner just patiently waiting on her to return or in case she did ever call out for help. It definitely made Odina feel secure to know that her family was always nearby and she hoped that one day she would become a great enough warrior that she could easily offer them the same protection, if not more. How amazing would that be to know that her family relied upon her for their safety rather than her always relying on them? Odina’s lips twitched upwards into a confident grin as she imagined the future and how tough she would be in comparison to others. Would she manage to make a name for herself like some of their legendary warriors? Would younglings be listening to campfire stories about her feats and passing them down to their own daughters in the far off future one day? Odina could only hope so!

She could already imagine some of the challenges she could conquer. Adventures or even battles or possibly wars? Odina was determined to defeat them all! And especially if the scary bug mages came back to haunt them then she would also be at the front of the line to chase them back far, far underground where they belonged! None of those soul snatching, dark magic using, creepy looking Dretch scared her! Or better yet maybe she would even wipe them completely out of existence so that no one would be scared ever again of the darkness. No more darkness, no more fighting, no more anything to ruin the peace that so many had fought so hard and long for. It would be an epic battle indeed and after there would be no need to fight ever again, right? Just like in the stories that some of the older sisters always told that always ended up with their happily ever afters that so many adored. If stories like that existed then surely it meant that it was possible that she could have something like that one day, right? A life without needing to fight anymore where she could just relax by the ocean and let others do as they pleased as long as it didn’t harm anyone else. Honestly their reality seemed so close to that already and she wondered if there ever would be some great dangers again in the future for her to face. Everyone always told the stories around the evening bonfires about the wars that had happened within the last several decades and it was strange to think that things were so peaceful now after all of those clashes. Would there be more in the future? Did she even want that when she was supposed to be happy for peace? As a future warrior her greatest goal would be to either earn back or continue the peace they already had in the world. Odina let out a small sigh at the thought as she turned her gaze back towards the moon once more. It was all so confusing to think about when she was so young but she knew that peace meant no more fighting. Would that truly be okay with her or would she grow bored over the years? How could she become a great hero if there was no big bad guy to fight?

Odina felt her spirit deflating as she stared at her training rods. Was there even a point to working to become so strong without any promise of future challenges? Her frown grew slightly deeper before she found herself shaking off the doubt and forcing herself to be more optimistic. Surely there would be still some adventures for her to enjoy and there were always tournaments that she could prove herself in! That’s what those things were called right? Not competitions but tournaments cause the earthlings enjoyed fancier names apparently. The thought made Odina grin with amusement as she reflected upon everything that she knew about these tournaments. Her mothers and their friends, mostly Sisters who actually lived in earthling territories and only visited here and there, always came in with gifts and stories about the earthling lands and Odina absolutely loved hearing from Tyiva about Oba and how the earthlings there were also proud warriors who even hosted tournaments so that warriors could test their strengths against one another until the final woman or man (such a strange idea these men things that earthlings had!) became the new champion. Surely such an event would be worthy of interest even if it was not exactly the conclusion to some epic war since there was still a lot of excitement about competitions. That much Odina could definitely relate to as she tried to piece together how these tournaments worked. Even as a youngling she always got a rush competing with her siblings or other Vandreas around her age that she played with on occasion. So maybe a tournament would be cool and something that could allow her to prove herself? Hopefully earthlings were open to allow Aishans to compete as well or even better yet she could maybe convince other Aishans to hold a tournament of sorts as well? Something that reflected their own culture and gave plenty of chances to compete with other Sisters? Maybe she could convince Seiong and some of the other Vandrea to play with her and try to get a feel for such things. “I really do wonder if I could do that one day?” She mused towards the moon who often had to deal with her late night ramblings. If Briallen was here then she could at least spend a few hours talking with her about the earthling lands and plans of adventure. Briallen enjoyed talking just as much as Odina did after all! Briallen probably would have a treasure trove of strange new things and exciting stories by the time Odina finally got to claim a real weapon for herself! Just the very thought made the youngling pout, her bottom lip pushing out slightly as she shook her head violently towards the sky. If anything then that made her even more determined to grow up quickly so that she could catch up to her older, adventurous sisters! If Briallen gained a whole boat full of treasures then Odina would just have to go and claim two boats full of treasure for herself! Better yet maybe a whole island full of treasure! Did earthlings have enchanted cities of gold? Was that a thing? Or what about the fish people to the southern ocean? Did they have underwater troves of gold as well? Odina’s gaze gleamed as she imagined all of the possibilities. She definitely would have to be really good with a weapon when she was older so that she could easily fight off any competition or treasure guardians!

But what weapon would she even choose? Was it too early to think about such things? Was it strange that she wanted to make a decision already when some older sisters still hadn’t decided on such a thing yet? The youngling obviously had great aspirations to become the strongest warrior but she had no idea about weapons. Maybe it would be possible to learn each and every one? The thought made her actually giggle. Imagine if she was actually able to do that! Odina just visualized herself all big and strong with a horde of various weapons strapped to her back. Would that make her look more like a silly mess or a hoarder even instead of being someone awe inspiring? There would be so much clanking with every step she took! “Briallen would laugh at me.” Odina admitted as she brushed a stray dark green dread back behind an ear and away from her face. She never understood how some sisters could wear their dreads so long while Odina was happy enough to keep them short so that they bounced with every movement and stayed out of her face…..well for the most part. She did enjoy seeing the decorations that some wore within their dreads, the beautiful wooden beads and metal coils always eye catching but Odina wasn’t certain if she could bother with keeping up with them all. It was hard enough keeping up with the small trinkets that she received from her family members, the small colored bangles often having to be found around the forest and the beads hopelessly lost unless she kept them stored in the carved wooden box that her mothers had gifted her after the first few original losses. If that said anything then she probably would be best avoiding a bow and arrows considering how hard it would be for her to not lose a whole quiver full within a day. “So a spear?” Odina tilted her head thoughtfully at the idea of the larger weapon before giving a nod in approval. That seemed about right and it would allow her to keep enemies at bay while also giving her the option to get closer if wanted. Daggers were so quick and then arrows were so distant and losable….a spear would be nice. Odina blinked thoughtfully as she pondered the idea and then she held out her training sticks as if imagining they were a larger spear. She could maybe add a trinket to the spear….if she could keep track of it as well. “Feathers.” She smirked at the thought of colorful feathers decorating her weapon, surely those would be easily replaced even if she lost a bunch often. She just hoped the local birds did not mind as much about her plucking a few here and there! Maybe in the morning she could go ahead and start collecting feathers and ask someone to make a few decorative pieces for her. Odina doubted they would actually give her a spear just yet after all.

As the chirping of some night insects filled the air, Odina realized that perhaps she would not even be allowed to venture out in the morning if she continued to stay out in the forest. “Oops!” The youngling’s cheeks flushed with surprise as she twisted around and found that the moon was indeed venturing past her warning star. She hoped that her mothers would not be angry at her! Odina took another quick glance around her training clearing before gathering her two wooden training sticks back up into her arms and darting towards the familiar trail leading to their home.

Home was always a comforting sight with its large treehouse-like structure wrapping around one of the great trees that stood on top of one of Chiume’s larger cliffs. The large gnarled branches wrapped around a swinging walkway of ropes and planks that twisted around the upper level of the home, the larger round room where most of her family slept in the two split rooms while the area below was also round with larger open windows, the sheer curtains of teals and greens constantly swaying from the ocean breeze that came from the pristine white beach nestled right below the larger cliffside. Odina loved their living area since it was constantly covered in pillows for them to relax on while sharing stories and food with one another after a long day of working and going about around the island. It would not be uncommon for her to nestle up there in a pile of pillows with a favored quilt whenever she came back home after being exhausted from training or play as the adults called it. An even better reason to sleep downstairs was because it was located right next to their kitchen so that the smell of food would always wake her up in the morning as one of her mothers pulled biscuits or something else yummy from the large stone oven that warmed their home in the cooler months. The other room was full of books and special trinkets that momma kept around but honestly none of those things really interested Odina. She definitely was the child of action and not of just well...reading really. Needless to say she usually never went into that room and much preferred walking out and about their home forest or playing with other younglings instead of staying inside, save for the occasional well deserved afternoon nap. A yawn escaped her lips as she sneaked her way into the living room, the candles on the front porch lighting her way home, and Odina whistled a familiar melody as she secured the main door behind her. Twisting the knot into place Odina found herself yawning once more as she trudged towards her familiar spot against the wall farthest from the curving staircase that had been carved into the actual tree that twisted straight into bedrooms. Perhaps she was a bit of a loner at heart sometimes but Odina did always find it easier to sleep away from others, her pillow fort offering far more comfort and far less sleep wiggling than the bodies of her siblings. It was there that she tucked her training sticks away before crashing into a pile of pillows, her eyes closing almost instantly as soon as she curled up into a ball beneath the plush comforts with a quilt haphazardly draped across. Tomorrow would be a new day and she would make certain to rest up plenty so that she could tackle whatever challenges sent her way!

❦❀❦ Amazon Path ❦❀❦

“An amazon.” Odina already knew what she was going to be from her younger years. The Vandrea had always fought to be the strongest and did not want to rely upon others or magic to prove herself. Even though she had recently adopted a folmar, the beast a wildcard companion who would still sometimes snap at her before going on her way, Odina did not feel like a guardian. She much preferred just having physical combat on her own, the teen even opting to sometimes tussle with her folmar instead of fighting along side her familiar. Honestly the hardest part of her decision was what type of weapon she would specialize in, not that Odina thought she would ever limit herself to simply one weapon. It was though ideal to learn a set style and having a specific weapon which she relied upon would help with keeping a solid form. While she did still carry daggers and know the bow for hunting purposes, Odina knew her weapon whenever she went to the markets one day and saw the great battle axe. It was huge and strong just like her! She had the bulk to carry it and swing it with purpose! The very thought delighted Odina and she quickly took to learning how to swing the giant weapon, training her body to become even stronger so that she could carry herself and her chosen weapon with pride. She would become the strongest amazon that the Aishan community ever saw, that much Odina was determined to do! It would take some time and a lot of training, but Odina was confident in her strength and she would keep pushing and growing that talent of hers so that one day the world could see what a strong fighter she truly was. Surely that strength would give her the power to protect her loved ones and her mother tree.
