oO Personality Oo One of Nicias’ defining features is his ability to work together. Even as a child he had a certain ‘can do’ attitude that leads him to strive to do everything he can. If he sees something either of his parents or guardians are doing and he can help with it, he’ll likely have no issue volunteering. As an Oban prince, he knows some things he’s just going to have to do, regardless of if it’s pleasant or not, and he’s okay with that. Nic knows and understands this, and even though it's hard for a child he tries to not complain. Now, this doesn’t mean that he’ll do everything asked of him, there are certainly things that will make him hesitate to think or even get other opinions but he certainly tries to do whats needed. In this way, he is very easy to teach. It's rare for him to miss an opportunity to learn something, a trait he’s certainly learned from his parents and as such he can typically be found reading something.
While he’s willing to work together with others, and can do so pretty successfully, he has a hard time letting people in emotionally. When he’s young, he’ll feel he’s pretty popular with kids his age and older wanting to be his friends with him. It won’t be until he’s a little older, and a talk from his mom that he’ll realize they don’t really want to be friends with him, but for who he is. Nicias will take this hard lesson and take it to heart. He’ll have trouble letting people get to close, keeping more acquaintances than friends. Nic will have to learn to be more careful with his words and emotions because of his station, it will make not only be a little quieter than most his age but pay more attention to them as well. He’ll try and learn different facial and verbal queues in a way to try and not only protect himself but also his loved ones. Sometimes it causes him to think too much into things yet he feels that he’d rather be safe than sorry.
oO History Oo
Nicias was born to Naevius, an oban princess, and Vasili. The two met as part of an arranged marriage and while the two were against it individually, the found the other wasn't as bad as they were expecting. Through some time, the noble couple found some common ground and affection and then finally love. Nicias is the product. His upbringing is totally different from most in his position. He was raised with a silver spoon in his mouth, yes, but also playing with the beasts at the compound that his mother tamed. He had freedom some of the time but also had to know his place. It made for a very strange childhood, especially when his nanny/guard was added in to the mix. Not to say he didn't care for and appreciate Varinia, it was just hard sometimes to have to have someone with you who wasn't your Mom but had to work with it sometimes. Overall, he had a pretty happy childhood and is loved by all he considers his family.

Physical Description: Clothing: Pinspiration 1 | Pinspiration 2 | Pinspiration 3 Basically wanting a vest type top for him, none of the metal armor, belts changed to be more typical of Oban clothing (sashes/rope etc). Current accessories are fine, more can be added if artist thinks some could complement clothing. Color wise, current colors are fine but I"m also okay with the artist using new colors as long as they fit Oba/Oban royalty ^.^
Body Type: He's kinda a nerd but also keeps up with his physical training. Body would be slim but toned with slight muscular definition. Face structure/shape kinda angular and strong.
Physical Description: Hair: Pinspo : Bottom left one with the bun. Half in a bun half down. More of the golden trinkets on the dreads, though CC on shape/incorporation.
Clothing: Pinspo: Except omit the shoulder guard things, I'd like his crystals to show. Oban colors pls smile
Body Type: Athletic build, muscular but still slim, kind of like a swimmers build. Still angular face.
Nicias had always had a lot of different interests. If it was something he could learn, he wanted to learn about it. It meant he sometimes had a lot of different interests that called to his attention and sometimes made it hard to try and choose a path for himself. He was sort of lucky in the fact that neither of his parents tried to force him into one path or another like he was sure some people’s parents did. It made it hard at the same time to have to make up his own mind. In some ways he knew what he would be doing in his future. Eventually he would be the King of Oba when his parents decided their time was over. Until that time, though, he had a little bit of freedom to do what he wanted. And yet, even as Nicias sat there thinking about it, one particular thing stood out: the prominence of animal’s in his life. It wasn’t too much in his recent past but when he was a child he used to love being able to go to his Grandpop’s old business that his mom still partially runs. He used to love working with the animals and remembered watching his father in awe as he worked with his janarim or when Miss Varinia would arrive on her raptrix. Riding was a part of his childhood in many ways. Watching his father ride and watching Miss Varinia ride up in the sky made him wonder how much fun it would be to see things from that far up in the sky. Either way, Nicias thought having a bond with a familiar like those two important people in his life and learn to train them like his Momma does really sounded appealing. That was his path, he decided. He was going to be a rider.
