The essence
She is a born fighter, and you know it. From the way she's built to the way the mere hint of a brawl can make her rise confidently to her feet, Iro makes it known that she'll never back down from a challenge - especially when it comes to her fists pummeling someone's face. Whether it's an innate rage or the chip on her shoulder that's fueling her, she will happily charge into battle when given the right reasons.
But for all her ferocity and tenacity in battle, Iro is what you would call a lazy piece of crap. She will do and say just about anything to get out of making an effort, and left to her own devices, would probably love to just lie in a hammock all day doing the things that she really enjoys - playing dice games and telling bombastic tales of her childhood.
A bit of an anarchist at heart, Iro does not do particularly well with instruction. Her first instinct whenever she is told to do something is to do the exact opposite. She has nothing but a kind “up yours” for anyone who thinks themselves her superior, though she’ll say it with a sincere laugh and invite them to join her for a game a second later. Short-term memory is her friend when it comes to such "affronts," and everything is just water under the bridge for Iro. She’s fairly loyal and supportive of her “friends” (that is, whichever crew she happens to be with at the moment), and can generally be counted on for her help in a pinch - so long as she thinks it was her idea to help.

The trouble
As the world continues to change and evolve, and as Iro herself continues to grow and mature, she has come to an impasse with herself. The stories she has heard and the people she's encountered have begun to make her dream and wonder about all that exists beyond her little fishing community on the edges of Jatine. But as much as her heart wants her to explore and expand her world, her mind is perfectly content to lounge about aboard ships and hammocks, living the life she's always led. There's more than a little bit of cognitive dissonance going on, and she feels as if she constantly at war within herself, trying to understand which side of her ought to win

History
Iro was raised in Jatine by a clan of fishermen who specialized in ocean fishing. A bit of an accident, she was born to a pair of young parents who were terribly ill-equipped to raise a child (not only were they young, they were also irresponsible and had never planned on having children in the first place). Iro was raised by the village, as it were, becoming the child of the entire fishing clan, where she bounced happily from household to household as the adults all shared in the responsibility of raising her.
Disicpline, as one may guess, was not a staple in her life. Growing up in the company of rather coarse and rowdy folk, she never learned to listen and obey. Instead, she was taught to speak her mind as loudly as she needed and to challenge whatever she saw fit. Not once was she told that she ought to listen to her superiors, because they simply didn't exist in her idyllic, if unrefined, gaggle of fishing folk.
What did exist was the challenge of surviving. Not only were the seas unforgiving, but competition for resources in the ocean could be stiff. In order to overcome both, her favorite uncle taught her two things: she had to be tough, and she had to fight. Iro took to both like a fish to water. She would brawl with just about anybody, from the boys her age to the adults, who happily sparred with her whenever she came strutting up looking for a fight.
When she grew competent enough, that same uncle took her on a fishing trip. That first voyage, she caught a hefty fish by herself and sold it for a good price in the market. The coin that she now wears on her wrist was the first coin she ever received for a sale, a reminder to herself that she should never forget where she was born, no matter where her life's adventures might take her.
Description
Iro is based on this Minotaur - color shifts a-okay to fit race palette. Hair and style - Matches image, can be tinged more red if need be (Think - swooping hair flipped to one side, with braids on the other. A couple photorefs for hairstyle too Skin - Roughly muzzle color Crystals - Regular fur color Eyes - As light as possible for an Oban Expression - Like the ref! Fierce/focused

Some type ofleatherarmor, including the pelt, with pants instead of the picture dress

A coin with a hole punched in the middle, strung on a leather/rope bracelet, worn on her left wrist
Growth Planning
Hair - Same same! Clothes (1) Something like this (insanely intricate leather inlay not at all necessary, just style). I'm thinking the leather parts and maybe the little bit of chain-mail shoulder coverage Accessories (1) Gold headpiece, kind of like this, but with little horns on them? Basically trying to get a little shout-out to her minotaur origins (2) Gold coin on a rope bracelet on her left wrist (see prentice stage) (3) Tattoo - Do Earthlings have horned animals that resemble bulls? I would love for her to get a tattoo of some sort of... horned bull-like animal, on top of an ocean/wave backdrop. Maybe on her upper arm? Expression - FIERCE, ready to fight someone. I really love her nose and those full lips! Build - Broad and strong - think, female powerlifter
