Aspiriations Gael hopes to reach his goal of becoming a Fortress. While he is a little slight for the time being he hopes to bulk up to fit the job.
Description With a lean muscled body Gael is considered athletic. His skin holds true to Matorian roots, with the lighter under color and a darker shade covering the rest. His markings resemble that of the rest of his race. His hair is mostly black with that dark blue/green seen on some males and his eyes are a stunning orange. As a style his hair is semi-long, going just past his shoulders, and pulled back away from his face. He also seems to have some scars. Most prominent of them are the few that are on his right arm, looking as though he was scratched by an animal, and the two jagged lines that are along his rib cage. Gael also has a tattoo that encircles his neck and it looks like a banded necklace.
Clothing Gael wears tight fitting clothing with some extra fabric hanging from it. Though it will of course fit better with his tribe's clothing.

Base Traits Respectful, Conflicted, Blunt
Personality Gael was brought up to be respectful, both to his elders but also to those who deserve it. It was something his mother taught him and all of his siblings before she passed. He rarely fails to show his respect to others. When he does it is usually for a good reason. Either he has been offended or was shown that the person in question didn't deserve it. There will always be a cause for him not to be respectful.
After losing his mother Gael withdrew from the family. Not just because of grief but because she was the one that held them close. His father threw himself into his work and stayed away from home more and more so it caused some deep seeded dislike within Gael. As his elder brother took on the role of man of the house he seemed to become more of an introvert. While his Aunt and her son moved in with them to make things easier, he isn't too happy about it all. He feels that his aunt is trying to replace his mother.
Since he grew up in Matori as a “free” earthling he has not been made to fear what happens when one speaks their mind. So he will often times say what is on his mind. He fails to see the reason to keep the truth from people. Since he also has a respectful streak he does not use a snide tone or even deliver his blunt words with malice. He will do his best to convey them as nicely as possible. This does not mean he is honest, just that he will say what he thinks or feels. To outsiders anyways. When it comes to his family he usually stays quiet. Being that he knows he will always have to face his family he decides to keep most of the harsher thoughts to himself. So he has never told his aunt what he thinks and because of this he feels as though he is walking on ice when it comes to interactions with her.
The conflicted nature that can usually be seen within Gael comes from the warring thoughts within his mind. Ranging from how he should treat his father, to the level of closeness he should have with his siblings. While he knows it is not his father's fault for pulling away from the family he cannot justify the action. He also knows that he should be more active with his siblings, spending time with them, having dinner with them, even helping them to read or do what it is they want to do. However, Gael wants to have his space away from them since they cling. He doesn't want to appear selfish. There are many things that seem to pull him in more than one direction and it causes him to be in conflict with himself.
His interactions with outsiders really depends on the nature of the person he meets. For instance, he hates the Oban but if he were to find a genuinely good one out of the bunch he would likely extend some friendship. It does not mean he likes the fire tribe, and in fact he seems to resent them as much as the next Matorian. If he were to come across another of the earthling tribes he would extend stiff civility and even the respect they deserve until such time as deeper friendship can be made. Alkidikes are a tribe he wishes to avoid. He's heard the rumors about the daughters of Aisha and doesn't wish to come face to face with any. He believes that their hate for the rest of the world rules them just as much as it had ruled the Oban when they had enslaved the Matori.

Gael's mother, Anisi, died in childbirth while bringing his little sister into the world. It was a hit to the family that they don't seem to be able to get over. His father, Tsia, threw himself into his work as a metalsmith, staying away from the house more and more, and his aunt moved in with her son to help the other children cope. Gael's eldest brother, Baiel, is the one that takes care of everything. He seems to have filled the parental role rather well. His little sister is constantly doted upon. He thinks that it is mostly due to his other siblings not wanting her to think she was at fault for their mother's death. The new dynamic in the family has left Gael feeling a bit out of place and with an itch to travel, but it also made him want to be strong. Despite him having many siblings he does not feel a strong connection to any of them. It is his cousin that he relates to most. When he and his cousin were old enough to make the choice on their own they went to the market to get tattoos. While his cousin got matching bands around his wrists, Gael decided he would get a similar design but use it as a makeshift necklace instead. Never once did he consider others would see it as a symbol of slavery since he himself saw it as his freedom to choose what to get. And it also had a deeper meaning for him and his cousin.
