The young witch slept peacefully on the deck of the pool with her arm hanging over the edge with her hand dipped in the warm pool water. The water stood still like the surface of a mirror, and reflected the ceiling above. Whenever her hand made the slightest twitch, the movement would trigger small ripples to ran over the water’s surface. The side of her face pressed flat against the warmth leeching concrete ground. Althea did not seem to mind the hard floor; her long pink hair draped over her back and soaked up the warmth of the sunlight that peered through the windows and skylights. The mermaid peered closely at the Witch’s submerged hand, and with a small smile the mermaid began to softly poke her hand to see if it would wake Althea. The witch remained fast asleep, deeply submerged into whatever dream she was in. The mermaid poked and poked and poked until the witch’s hand suddenly balled up into a fist, yet she was still fast asleep. The mermaid peered at her from the water, curious if Althea was pretending to be asleep. The mermaid rose up higher from the water and rested her forearms onto the deck of the pool and pulled herself up until she was at eye level with Althea’s sleeping face. A small pool of drool rested beside her face. It was enough to convince the mermaid who tried to contain her laughter.
Her gaze drifted over towards Althea’s hair in awe. Her puffy cloud like hair reminded the mermaid of the beautiful colored clouds that hovered over the ocean around sunset. The mermaid reached out to touch her hair; she was surprised at how soft it was, but still very dense. The mermaid plucked a pink pearl from her hair and curiously dropped the small precious ball into Althea’s hair. It quickly submerged into her hair and vanished without a trace. She was too entertained to even worry about retrieving the pearl. The mermaid leaned closer to Althea’s face; with a smile on her pearlescent lips the mermaid curiously gave the witch a few light pokes to her warm face. The witch’s face twisted in discomfort after a few pokes; though she remained asleep. Althea raised her hand from the water and lightly fanned the mermaid’s hand away, “Bah, fuzzy gimme five more miiiiiinnnuuuutttes~” Althea mumbled in her sleep, her body slightly moved to adjust herself in a more comfortable pose. Her tarantula friend Fuzzy was also fast asleep in the witch’s hair. The mermaid rolled her eyes; this witch was a touch one to wake up. She looked up to the clock that hung over the pool, dead center in the room. It had four faces to be seem from anywhere in the room. The arms on the clock were some sorts of mineral orbs that hovered in place and moved like a clock. The cafeteria was open now for breakfast, but not for much longer.
The Merstudent smiled before she dipped back down into the water without making a sound or disturb the water with ripples. Suddenly a large opal white fin rose up from the water, the scales glistened like jewels in the light. The fin thrashed back down onto the water, sending a large wave of water onto the sleeping witch and vanished back down under the water. Althea jumped up, wide away with a loud stared gasp for air, “MOM THE ROOF IS LEA-” She shouted until she opened her eyes and moved the wet curly hair from her face and observed her surroundings. There was a red circle on the side of her face where her face rested on the hard ground. She pondered about how or what soaked her with water. The roof did not appear damaged in anyway, and it seemed like she was the only person around, “Hmmmm, something smells fishy….” She mumbled as she rang the water from her hair as she suspicious glanced about the room. She looked over to the pool with a sharp gaze; her eyes carefully watched the still surface of the water, “Hmmm…VERY…FISHY…” She mumbled before she glanced over clock, the marvelous craftsmanship put her in awe for a moment before she realized what time it was, “Woah, PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE!” She shouted as she shot up from the ground and hovered in the air like a cartoon character, all that was missing was that her eyes were not popping out from her head.
“OH NO, today they are serving French toast! I hope there is some left!” She shouted as she remained in the air, her hands pressed against her cheeks in horror. Water droplets drizzled down from her cloudy pink hair and clothes as she flew towards the exit at full speed.
