Child Description ∇ At eleven years old, Nikora is small for her race. She was never mistreated or neglected, but for whatever reason she still appears to be quite weak and fragile: with thin, almost spidery limbs, and scales that appear only in some of the places they should.
Despite what looks absurdly almost like undernourishment, Nikora's parents dote on her as being 'exceptionally beautiful.' She is a young girl with smooth, dark grey skin, light blue-grey eyes, and a great, long mane of sea-green hair that ombres to a dark teal. Nikora is heavily spoiled by her parents. They love to dress her up in things they believe accentuate her alleged beauty. Her ears are pierced three times with gem-like studs, beads are woven through her hair, and she is gifted the most colorful and 'lady-like' garments they can find, which are adorned on her in layers.
Her scales appear in the customary forehead arrow of her race in a mottling of blue-green and sky blue, but otherwise they appear on only her right arm and right leg, a bit of an oddity, as most are symmetrical across the body. She also has scale arrows along the top of both feet. As with the entirety of her species, Nikora has two sets of gills on either side of her neck and a pair of pointed ears.
Personality ∇ Nikora is an only child born to two androgynous-oriented parents who wanted a small school of children to pamper and dote on. Instead, they received only her, and she has been well-protected, spoiled, and treated almost like a prettied-up show animal ever since. It is obvious that both her parents love her in their own ways and are clearly fearful of displeasing or driving her away, but they are persistent and adamant in keeping her almost entirely secluded from others, despite this. For this reason, she has grown up relying on them and experiencing almost all of the joy she has ever had from things they have brought her or done for her.
During her youngest years, she doesn't question this at all. But by the time she is capable of wondering about such things (as in, when her story actually begins), Nikora will be more interested in obtaining things for herself, rather than having them handed to her. She still wants and expects to have many nice, coveted things, but she wants the ability to take them for herself, rather than waiting for her parents to bring them to her.
It is in this way that she is resilient. Any departure from her norm (and their expectation) will be upsetting to her parents. It will be upsetting to them and mildly frightening for her, since she has never experienced independence, but she is eager and interested in testing new waters and not one to let a bad experience keep her down.
Nikora likes to be active, and once she has a taste of new comrades and freedom, she will value them greatly and have a preference for rowdy, physical activity. Though her upbringing was secluded, she and others will quickly come to realize that she doesn't have the greatest interest in manners, silence, or even open care for the feelings of others. She likes to be around them for the noise, but tends to prefer to speak mostly about her and her interests and what she is capable of achieving.

Infant ∇ Nikora's parents were born in the small border settlement of Ukupaia. They were born there. They met there. They became committed to one another there. And, once they were ready, they laid a clutch of eggs together. Nothing came of their first attempt, or the second. None of their eggs hatched, but they were determined to try and try and try forever, if that was what they needed to do to be successful.
Nikora was the only live offspring born of their third clutch, and she has been the only one since.
Her parents do continue to try, as they still think they would like to have many children, but their want for more never keeps them from admiring and spoiling their first and only precious daughter. Since there is a fear in them that she will continue to be their only, her parents have done their best at molding her into what pleases them most. They like to dress her up, treat her like a lady, and always manage to persuade her out of doing things that involve outdoor activity or other people.
Initially, Nikora doesn't mind. She likes being consistently pleased and engaged by the people who raised her, but she is growing out of the repetitive routine their small settlement and her seclusion offers her. She wants to be challenged and intrigued, and though Nikora still appreciates her parents' attempts to keep her engaged, they will not be able to manage it on their own for much longer.

Child ∇ Rewi ミ A stroke of good luck brought Rewi to Nikora, and she managed to convince him to escort her all the way to Haukea, a feat not as hard as it might seem, gven his laid-back nature and strong belief in doing things if the opportunity presents itself to do so in 'the right place at the right time.' They parted ways, but she's looking forward to seeing him again. Lalaki ∇ A teenaged Kaha'iko merchant boy Nikora met as her parents tried to appease her with a trip to Noelani. They didn't make it as far as they'd planned before returning home, but Nikora was pleased to have escaped briefly, been caught in a current, and swept up to reclaim a bracelet the merchant boy had lost.

Child ∇ PRP: Nikora's blossoming interest in adventure lead her to creep from her home and encounter another young Kaha'iko, Tariu. PRP: After her escape attempt, Nikora's parents try to cater to her spirit by making the journey to Noelani. Instead, she is separated from them and caught in the current caused by the rains, dropping her directly in front of a Kaha'iko boy named Lalaki. PRP: Distraught after the brief and worrisome separation from their daughter, Nikora's parents attempt to confine her indefinitely to the house. She flees with more vigor than ever to the village center, where a group is preparing to try and journey to the ocean.
Body Type: Nikora is short for her race and rather thin. She is just barely beginning to work on building muscle, but has a long way to go. I wouldn't mind her having some curves, but as she's still pretty young, I'd like some room for her to grow a bit more curvier in her next stage, as well.
