[The world is changing and you don't want to miss it! We wanted to provide you with some additional prompts to help inspire your reactions to what is happening in the world. By no means do you need to respond to the prompts below, but we hope for those looking for some 'solo fuel' or RP settings can use these to your advantage.]
The rains were endless, the sound drowning out the normal peaceful noises of your homeland. You haven't seen any of the land-dwelling fauna in months, and have been all but forced to stay below the surface of the water to not be swept away in the storm. Thankfully, you were made to live and breathe below the surface, but you missed the view of the land. It was all but depressing for most of those around you, and very few found the rain exciting. Since it seems like it is never going to let up, it's about time you ventured out at last. What do you do? Do you try and find some food, or maybe hunt down one of your friends? Do you find yourself in danger, or maybe in a place you never had access to before? Take some time to explore, but be careful because the rains have caused strong floods and even stronger waters, meaning traveling even a few hundred feet away could spell danger.
Elyessi
Even from the stone lower-level of her river home, Nikora could hear the rain pattering away with a strength she had never heard or seen before. Any rains they'd had previously had been so scarce and short, barely more than a drizzle, but what they had now was a mighty storm, with sheets upon sheets of rain pelting the upper above-water level of their home. Though her parents forbade her from leaving their house, and even cautioned against going above the surface, Nikora found she couldn't help herself.
They wouldn't be mad at her, she reasoned. And nothing bad would happen because nothing bad ever happened to her! Nikora was a blessed child, and she would be safe and secure on whatever adventures she embarked on, even if it went against her parents' wishes. What they didn't know wouldn't bother them, anyway. She just wanted to see and feel the rain.
Nikora swam from the ground level toward the stairs and scampered up them, emerging on the- partially submerged second story of her home. Partially submerged? It was more rain than she'd even imagined.
And if there was this much here, creeping up into her own home, it could only mean that the river banks were being pressed upon, as well!
She wanted to see, and Nikora had already decided she was going to do just that. With an almost careless sense of abandon, she slipped through one of the window-like holes in the walls of the second story and dived back into the water on the outside of her house. She wanted to go closer to the shore! And see if there was anything new that awaited her there. Though admittedly, since she was allowed out so infrequently and could only escape now because her parents were preoccupied with trying to salvage some of their now rain-laden storage areas, most things might seem 'new' to her.
