✦ Demon Physiology:
•Enhanced strength: Tetsuya is inanely strong, almost commically strong. It’s pretty much his defining trait. Even among demons and angels, his strength is infamous.
•Minor healing: He can recover, but it’s not that intense.
✦ Alternate form/True form:
Tetsuya’s body is itself an oddity. It is comprised of a ridiculous amount of shadows (darkness energy, whatever) compacted in on itself. Pseudo-science and jargon aside, the demon has come to have two forms: that which is presented normally--humanoid, ‘normal’--and one that is more typical of a demonic image. This form is where the shadows come from; it’s the only thing keeping him solid in his human form, and feeds itself. This form is stronger and infinitely more fierce. He bleeds shadows, which he can manipulate to varying degrees. This form is brought on by intense rage/emotional stimulus. Under these conditions it is involuntary, but Tetsuya will go to any length to keep this form under wraps. Strictly speaking, he can change anytime.

Bio:
Tetsuya’s experience with the armed forces doesn’t follow the typical path. There was no knock on the door, no “we’re building a team, son, and we need you…”, no courting Bravo or the like…
At the time, he was concerned with where his next meal was coming from. He was a brute, with no prospects and nothing to fall back on except his strength. In the beginning, it was all he had, and it wasn’t much. He kept fighting, stealing, cheating, to keep himself alive. This was what life was like for abandoned children. He’d made it a habit to get a sense for the patterns of any city he came across, knowing where and when to steal and who he would have to watch for.
He lived this way until he had gotten strong enough to make a name for himself: a side-effect of surviving so long. He did everything he could to remain unattached, though goals like this are rarely achieved to their expectations. All that attention eventually brought his name across the desk of certain officials in the demon armies. His file had become a nuisance to them; each report of disturbances highlighted a gap in the military-police. Isn’t that a saying? If you can’t beat them, have them join you. No? Well…
One day, Tetsuya woke in a cold sweat, heaving against the breaking dawn outside his room. The city was in between being awake and moving, but not asleep. Tetsuya was left rubbing his head. Images of that terrible dream clung to him like fog. He wouldn’t have time to meditate on it, however, as a knock came at the door. This is the moment he’d been running from for a while. He was certain he was under arrest, but he was put at ease, to his surprise, by the leader of the group. It was someone’s idea that a force like Tetsuya could be an asset, not an obstacle, and so the offer was made to call off the warrant for his arrest if he agreed to come to work as a mercenary for them. Kill angels, kill witches, kill vampires, kill ghosts (somehow), they said. Tetsuya wanted to refuse, but agreed facetiously.
That seemed enough for the officers, at least for the moment, and life went on. Tetsuya went on doing exactly as he had been doing. This time, however, things were different. A ringing in his head, a splitting noise, assailed him each time he picked a fight. After one such incident, Tetsuya saw a strange woman standing over the body of his opponent. He didn’t mean to kill them, and she said little that was clear or that cleared up the matter. She held up a mirror before she left, allowing Tetsuya to see what kind of monster he had become.
The story that brought about, Tetsuya will never tell. He figures it’s best to just keep moving. And so, he finally joined the forces, but had somehow grown apathetic. Just what had happened? If you care to find out, you’d learn just another story in a noir kind of life.
Personality:
Tetsuya is very laid back. Nothing seems to get to him. He can easily come off as aloof this way, and that’s very much a real side of him. He doesn’t like to give things his all anymore, and because of this he often needs a lot of motivation to get going on a task. He tries to act busy to promote that illusion, but he can often be found meandering in a semi-productive way. When he has the chance, he often retreats to his quarters to do some hobby. Anything to keep his mind occupied. He also likes to spend time at spas, just hanging out with a towel over his face. If pushed, a side of himself long since buried may be seen.
