Coming from the streets to the academy meant that Twitch and Riku still had to fend for themselves until the academy started. The streets of Eoana were pretty luxurious compared to Trendal, plus it didn't hurt to have a walking cloud as a pillow. The duo decided to grab something to much down on, being out of pocket since yesterday meant that they would have to either pickpocket someone which meant setting up a scenario. Another method for getting grub was stealing it directly but Eoana had more city guards than Trendal so the risk was greater, plus people would begin to link the disappearance of their produce to him and Riku if they kept using the markets everyday. So the last option was going fishing or hunting, luckily there was a nice big canal linking to the sea which meant there were probably some fish swimming around.

Twitch sat on the edge of the canal with a terribly constructed fishing rod with Riku snoring loudly next to him. "Shut up boy! Otherwise you'll scare our dinner away!" Twitch whined to which the dog replied with a loud yawn. Twitch rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the water. They had been sitting there for three hours with no luck so far, if nothing was going to happen soon then twitch would have to consider pickpocketing an ignorant poor soul in the area. He had caught fish there before but they were pretty small. He knew there was not alot to gain from fishing here but he was trying to stay as clean as possible before he could start living it up in the academy.

With a loud roar, the Grey Armored Mercenary suddenly emerged from the waters of the main Canal like a monster from the Sea. He took a deep breath before climbing the edge waterway stairs and jumped up onto the Canal wall platform before falling to a knee and trying to regain his composure. He was completely winded and nearly drowned in the waters before his body started to move on its own t get to the surface. As his body slowly recovered, he took another deep breath, and then let out another roaring scream that echoed out in the distance before starting to look around and figure out his surroundings so that he could find that annoying young girl and crush her into dust.

Camilla Umbrawalker

Camilla was taken aback by what her friend had said. ' That was his sister? I didn't know he had a sister... ' She thought to herself as they walked. She wanted to say that saving him was only natural. She'd never let anyone hurt her friends with her right there. If it was within her power she'd protect all of her friends. But it was more than that. Seeing his face as he held his sister, that painful, hurt expression; she never wanted to see Kayl make that expression again. She would kill or fight anyone if it meant he didn't make that expression again. Camilla's hand had absentmindedly gone to her chest as the two walked in silence. Thinking about what he had said she spoke. '' I'm glad to have you with me for this...I've never fought anyone who's taken a hit from my raiment and lived. Maybe with you, we can figure out a way to beat this guy. '' She said in a more serious tone than she had meant to use.

Camilla had a few questions and a few things to say but wasn't sure if now was the time for such things. Deciding she hadn't thanked him enough she spoke once more about their previous encounter. '' Kayl, that guy was about to kill me...if you hadn't shown up...I-I might not... '' She stopped herself. She could feel the fear and panic spreading from her chest. Camilla had never been caught by surprise like that. It was a stupid mistake to make in the middle of a siege. Of course, he would have accomplices. She let her guard down and almost paid the price. Looking at her friend with watery eyes she continued. '' Kay...I know you said you owed me one...but I don't know if I can thank you enough for saving me...sorry if I worried you. I'll try to keep that from happening again. '' She said her voice cracking slightly. Whipping her head forward she could see the behemoth of a man looking around confused.

Wiping her face she looked at Kayl and smiled. '' Let's finish this yea? '' She said before Bursting forth from their current location. The ground beneath her and Kayl broke as Camilla went flying at the man like a ballista. As she neared the man she smiled and pulled her fist back. Much like how they had met in the Square, she would once more attempt to catch the giant man in his face and send him off once more. This time, they were going to finish this once and for all and there wasn't going to be anyone to get in their way.

As they reached the Canal entrance, Camilla had a few more words she wanted to clear off of her chest. Kayl could only shake his head at her words, and smile to encourage her. Perhaps it worked, cause as soon as she caught sight of the behemoth, she dove off and came upon him with a punch he shuttered to imagine receiving.

Still trying to catch his breath, the Mercenary shook his head and leaned against a post for a moment as he looked around trying to gain his bearings so that he could figure out where to go next. Before he could actually catch his breath however suddenly a fist was flying his way, and like the first time he encountered the girl, a loud resounding BOOM echoed through the Canal as he was sent flying onto one of the Canal platforms. Rolling to a skidded stop, the Mercenary quickly stepped up to his feet and put eyes on the girl he had hoped to find again. Without a moments notice he charged right at her, hands out and at the ready to grab her and rip her to shreds.

Kayl, however, of course, wouldn't let her take on this fight alone. Running forward as fast as he could, he scaled the side of the Canal wall for a brief moment just as the Mercenary started to charge at Camilla. Without hesitation, Kayl jumped toward the giant and landed on one of his massive arms spinning about before lifting himself up onto the mercenaries back. "Hi..." He would say in his face before grabbing his shoulders, and flipping his body upside down, balancing in a hand stand as he looked down at the man. "Remember me?" He let out before suddenly kicking his feet forward and using the momentum of his own weight to press into the Mercenaries side, causing the Mercenary to veer off once more and charge head first into the opposing Canal wall.

Pulling his head out of the rubble of the wall, he grunted and screamed as he started to immediately charge at Kayl, anger boiling in his veins now.

Camilla's fist met the man's face once more with a resounding boom. As she landed on her feet Camilla watched as the man began to charge her. Camila's breathing was becoming harder. How long had they been fighting for? Camilla had never had to fight for so long consecutively. Most people would get hit or hurt bt her and either die or retreat to regroup giving her time to regroup herself. But this man just didn't quit. As the armored beast charged her she simply stood to meet him. Because this time she had help. Not a second later KAyl dashed by her and at the man. She would watch as her friend maneuvered around the man and eventually put the man into another wall. Smiling she could only laugh to herself. How mad he must be to be getting worked over by a couple of kids.

But as the man roared in absolute anger she allowed the smile to fade from her face. This was no time to get caught up in her own thoughts or emotions. Her time in raiment form was shorter now so this was going to have to be their last clash. As the man charged once more she stood her ground waiting for him to get close. When he was only a few yards out Camilla dashed at him. Sliding to the man's right side she turned and struck at the back of the man's knee with her leg. Her aim was to knock him down and stop the charge. Without waiting to see if she had connected or not Camilla then spun counterclockwise and sent a high kick towards the man's face. If either of these connected the man would be in bad shape.

His charge would be cut short, tripped up by the girl as Kayl rolled out of the way. The behemoth was struggling now, there was something odd about these kids. How could they have been so skilled, so powerful. Landing on the ground in front of him, the giant caught a glimpse of Camilla's next movement, and his instincts brought his hand up before he could think. Her kick was hard, landing squarely in his palm. But his hand took it, and grasped on tightly as he smirked, finally catching the one he's been trying to rip apart. Quickly getting up to his knee, he pulled the girl upside down, and was about to reach up to grab her with his other arm when Kayl came up beside them and jumped high into the air. Unsheathing his sword, he brought it down upon the man's extended arm, with enough force to normally completely sever aa limb. As his blade struck at the man, it nearly bounced off of his arm, rather then cutting through in any way, but the shock from the attack was enough for the giant to lose his grip on Camilla, dropping her to the ground.

Kayl couldn't believe his eyes, his sword seemed to do no damage to the man, what was he made of, stone? Not wanting him to grasp Camilla again, Kayl charged forward and swung at the man again, his sword bouncing off of the man's arms as the Mercenary defended himself and got back to his feet. Watching so that Camilla get regain her footing, Kayl continued his attack until the Mercenary reached forward and tried to grab Kayl. Ducking under him, Kayl rolled under his legs and came to his feet and then narrowed his eyes as he noticed blood on the man's arms. Even though his sword was bouncing off of him like a toy, the man was bleeding. "He can be cut..." Kayl said aloud as he started to think of how to use this to their benefit.

Camilla Umbrawalker

Camilla was in a bind. She had taken the man down to a knee, but he had anticipated her follow up. As her kick hit his hand and moved it back, it closed around her ankle. ' s**t... ' She thought as he lifted her high into the air. This was it, he was finally gonna smash her to bits or rip her limb from limb. But just as others have before, Kayl stepped in and saved her again. As he attacked she watched in awe. Kayl was something else. From what she could tell he had no overpowering abilities, just skills that seemed to come out of nowhere. He only had that going for him and still, he ran headlong into danger despite his opponent being overwhelmingly stronger than him. It was inspiring to say the least. As the man finally dropped her and she hit the ground, Kayl was already on the other side of the behemoth of a man.

As soon as she hit the ground Camilla would explode from the spot she landed and rush the man once more. Since they were in close proximity already she didn't need to use her raiment to close the gap. Camilla was about to bust out a technique she had never tried on a real person before. But if it worked then she would have successfully put the man in the ground. Camilla stopped before the man and sent a high kick at his temple, not waiting to see if she connected she would spin quickly to the opposite side of the man and send another kick at the other temple. But she wasn't done, jumping high enough to strike the man's head with a reverse heel roundhouse aimed directly at the back of his head. These three spots were very delicate no matter who you were or what your power was. As soon as she hit the ground Camilla aimed for a sweep hoping to knock the disoriented man down. To finish things off Camilla would bring her leg high into the air essentially doing a full split while standing up. If the man had taken any of those hits and was swept by her this ax kick was going to put him quite literally in the ground. Growling loudly Camilla let the kick fly and brought it down with her full force. If she connected there would be without a doubt a nice crater for the man to lie in.

Watching as Camilla darted at him without hesitation. Kayl smirked lightly as he charged in as well. "He can be cut!..." He said a little louder as he ran towards them, sword in hand as he watched Camilla closely. She attacked relentlessly, not giving the behemoth the chance to even recover, and he took a hard hit once, then twice, and was in the air for a solid few seconds when a hard-hitting kick came down at him, and shot him into the ground forcefully. The crater formed shot debris and stone all over the place, and the dust shot up and filled the air. Seeing her powerful blows strike at him, Kayl narrowed his eyes as he jumped directly over the crater as his mind started racing at a mile a minute. "I wonder…" He thought to himself as he came down on the giant of a man lying on the ground. As he swung his sword, he quickly pressed the clasp on the hilt, releasing the weight within the blade mid swing to quickly slide it to the end, and gain a sudden boost of momentum from the strike. As it came down upon the Mercenary, he put his hand up like before, expecting to block the sword like so many times before, but he didn’t know that the swords inner workings had now effectively increased the momentum of the blade so that it would have the same power as a great sword.

As it came down, it struck his hand squarely, and pierced his skin a bit more, actually cutting him a bit while pushing his hand back towards his chest. Kayl’s eyes narrowed as he figured out why he was unable to cut the man effectively and looked to Camilla as he thought about her raw strength. Jumping back for just a moment, Kayl swung the blade upright behind his back, causing the weight to slide back into place, the clasp locking the weight back in place so that it wouldn’t slide again without a press of the hilt mechanism. He then swung his blade at the behemoth to force him to block again, and just as his sword bounced off of his blocking hand, Kayl forcefully used the momentum of the block to help throw his sword high into the air. "Camilla!!!" He would yell out, nodding up at the sword before rolling to his side as the Mercenary swung a fist at him. Standing them, the Mercenary started to look over at Camilla, wondering what Kayl had called out to her for. If she was about to punch him again, he’d be ready, but before he even turned his face, Kayl was suddenly in front of him, bringing a foot up and kicking him across his brow. The kick barely did anything, merely catching his attention as he looked down upon the youth, and he brought his fist up again to smite at the boy. But Kayl was swift, and quickly shifted his body, causing the behemoth to miss completely. At that moment, Kayl reached up and grabbed the giant by the arm, tugging at him just hard enough to cause the Mercenary to lose his balance as he kicked at his leg. The mercenary tumbled and fell to his knees in his distraction, and Kayl flipped back and quickly darted away as the giant started to pick himself up.

Camilla Umbrawalker

The man was obviously getting tired. She couldn't blame him, she was getting tired too. But she was quite surprised when all her hits landed. It was the first time since they started this fight that all her hits had landed. Standing in a crater with her foe, Camilla hopped backward out of the crater creating a bit of space. Not a second after she had done so Kayl was on top of the man slashing at him with his sword. She had heard him mention that the man could be cut, but until this moment she hadn't seen any evidence of that. Seeing the man as he was now shocked her. His hand was bleeding a bit from where Kayl had struck him So he wasn't invincible. But then Kayl did something strange. Spinning his sword and slashing at the man once more he let the sword be thrown high into the air.

'' Camilla!!! '' She would hear her name called loudly. Her attention snapped from Kayl to the sword in the sky. She knew what he wanted her to do. Crouching low Camilla focused all her power in her legs. As she pushed off the ground and jumped the ground beneath her cracked deeply leaving a small crater where she had been standing and blowing part of her pant legs off exposing her shins. Launching herself high into the sky Camilla rose through the air at a rapid pace. Catching up to the sword Camilla took it in her hand and continued to rise till she began to slow. At the apex of her jump, Camilla turned herself to a downward facing position and began to fall back towards the crater her enemy and her friend were fighting in.

Camilla was tucked and rapidly descending once she got close Kayl would move away. Taking the sword and moving it upside down she raised it above her head. '' AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! '' Camilla screamed as she came crashing down on top of the man. Since he was in a kneeling position the two fell back into the crater with great force. The sword hit the man's body just over his heart. Camilla slammed it into his chest with all the force she could muster. Dust and debris went flying in a large column over where Camilla and their enemy went down. As the dust settles Camilla stood slowly, her legs spread so that she could stand over the man as he lay dying. Breathing heavily Camilla's eyes didn't leave her foe. Fist clenched, mouth open, breathing ragged Camilla wouldn't move till she knew he was dead. The sword stuck in the man's chest, warped and bent. Should he move Camilla would grab it and put the man back to bed, permanently.

Sliding to a stop as Camilla came down upon the giant, Kayl brought his hands up in front of his face as the dust blew out from the hard drop, further deepening the crater they were in. When the dust started to settled, Kayl stepped up and took in a deep breath as he saw Camilla standing over the Mercenary with his sword fully impaled into the man’s chest. The man was no longer moving, blood starting to fall and fill in the cracks in the hole as Camilla stared down at him. He was unmoving, and bleeding out, but Camilla stood over him none the less, as if she didn’t believe he was quite dead. Sighing lightly, Kayl nodded his head as he saw his plan’s results come to fruition. The man’s raiment must have either protected his body, or strengthened his skin. Kayl hadn’t the strength to pierce through it, even if a sharp blade in hand. But Camilla…

Impressed with her once more, Kayl stepped over to her and this time placed his hand on her shoulder. "Camilla, are you alright?" He asked at first before turning her to face him, knowing that she, like him, might have been mentally tapped and exhausted. "We did it… It’s done, you did good Camilla… you did good…" He said while pulling her to him, and giving her a hug to help support not only her, but him. If she wasn’t here, his sister would likely be dead, he would likely be dead, and she fought hard. He knew it more then anyone. Holding her close, he breathed slowly, catching his breath before loosening his hold so that he could look at her face. "Come on, lets get out of here, and see if the others are ok…"

She released a breath she hadn't realized she was holding when Kayl touched her shoulder. Her hand instinctively went up to it but she stopped herself from doing anything more than touching his hand. Looking over her shoulder she forced a smile. '' I'm okay- '' She went to say but Kayl continued. He was right, they had done it. They killed someone that for a second there didn't seem like he could be killed. But what he said next took her by surprise. The praise she had received from her friend shouldn't have made her feel so happy. But it did. Tears welled up in her eyes. This was the first time Camilla had to fight this hard in her life and for someone to be here and tell her she did good was a bit overwhelming in the moment. The follow up was even more surprising. Kayl had pulled her into an embrace. Camilla threw her arms around him and held him tightly. She didn't know why but this interaction was what she needed and then some. She had been so scared and worried this entire time but never had the chance to really process it. Camilla's breath slowed and that thumping in her ears had returned. Loosening his grip the two looked at one another. Nodding to him Camilla opened her mouth to speak when she was hit with a very sudden, very terrifying realization.

She had squeezed Kayl with all her might and he was still alive, unhurt. This meant her raiment had been deactivated. How long has it been like this? How much time was left before the inevitable? Forcefully breaking their embrace Camilla looked to Kayl with words stuck in her throat. How could she explain to him what he was about to see? '' Kayl...I... '' She started but it was too late. From the moment she had hit the big dude with the sword her raiment had gone out. Any time she had to prepare herself and her dear friend for what was about to happen was gone. To Kayl, it would seem odd at first that Camilla would be so forceful with him. In the next instant right after she was able to speak his name a scene most foul would begin. Camilla would be brought to her hands and knees. The pain in her body would force her to vomit. Expelling the contents of her stomach and then some on to the floor at Kayl's feet. The most troubling part of that was the sheer amount of blood mixed in with her vomit. It was enough for anyone not medically inclined to know that something was very wrong.

Gasping for air Camilla once again tried to speak. '' Kayl! '' But before she could finish once more her body threw her to the ground and on to her side. Screaming in sheer pain Camilla could barely see at this point. The pain was unlike anything she had ever experienced. The rebounds were bad, that was the price of using her raiment. But this was beyond anything she had dealt with so far. Camilla's body writhed in pain upon the floor as blood seeped from her ears and eyes and nose. Forcing herself to her hands and knees once more Camilla continued to scream at the top of her lungs. It would sound to anyone who could hear her as if she was being murdered. And to her, that's how it would feel. As if someone was running rampant through her body tearing her muscles and tendons apart. As her vision returned in waves she could see the terrified look on Kayl's face. She needed to try and explain that this was also part of her raiment. Slamming both her fist into the ground she grunted and shouted loudly trying to gather enough strength to explain herself. Gritting her teeth hard she looked to Kayl. The expression on her face was pure pain and agony. But her eyes were sorry. She was sorry he had to witness something so ugly, so unbecoming. '' Kayl... '' She growled through the pain. '' I-I need! '' She would shout as the pain spiked and her muscles constricted. '' I need to get....to the infirmary... '' She said gasping, a lot of the color had drained from Camilla's skin. '' This...this is a part...of my raimeaaaahhhhHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! '' The pain that surged through her now was somehow worse than when it started. As if Mortem herself was here to take her pound of flesh for using the raiment.

And all of a sudden Camilla's cries of agony would stop. Her body would fall limp into the bloody floor spasming ever a couple of seconds as her muscles continued to constrict despite their host being near unconscious. Camilla would continue to cry and whimper but her body had given up and her mind was doing all it could to ease her pain. The only thing Camilla could see was Kayl's boots as she lay there. She almost wished the big guy had been alive so that maybe he could end her suffering. There is nothing he could have done that would have been worse than the pain she was feeling at this very moment. All she could do is hope that Kayl understood her. Her consciousness coming and going in waves.

Kayl couldn’t have prepared for what suddenly happened even if Camilla had told him. Just as soon as she started to keel over, vomiting blood, and suddenly writhing in pain, Kayl’s eyes went wide with fear and fell to his knees at her side. Holding his hands out, he didn’t know what the hell was going on and started looking for wounds or possibly damage to her. But after a moment, through sheer will, she managed to get a few words out, and he replayed them in his head over and over again. As he realized just what kind of strain her raiment must have put on her body. Understanding, he made a move to pick her up, and a suddenly spasm pushed him back at first. Narrowing his eyes in determination, he pressed forth, taking hold of her and pulling her into his arms. As he body went limp, only moving abruptly here and there, Kayl stood up and started to move to the main road. "Don’t worry Camilla, I have you… I have you…" He would say while holding her in his arms, trying to let her head rest against his shoulder as he held her cradled in his arms, one arm holding her torso from behind, the other behind her knees. Running just as fast as he could, he charged forward, trying to mind his footing and keep her as comfortable as possible as he ran, tears welling in his eyes.
