PERSONALITY
Clever minded, loyal, prideful, narrow-minded, stubborn, self-sufficient
Pen is good at solutions; he knows how to look at things and pick them apart so that he can see them a different way than normal, perhaps. He has a strong and cautious mindset under the best of circumstances and enjoys the puzzle of things, the figuring out, the wary consideration.
He doesn't sway easily. Believing in one thing means that he's stuck believing it, and changing his mind or trying to get him to think a different way about someone is next to impossible. He is determined to keep his beliefs and his loyalties where they are; it's very important to him.
If there's one thing that Pen dislikes more than anything, it's being wrong. He doesn't like to admit that he's made a mistake, doesn't like being insinuated as not knowing what he's doing, and doesn't like being misjudged - or even judged at all. He is easily angered because of his never ending pride and it's a continuing source of contention between him and whoever he's communicating with.
Hand in hand with his loyalty is his inability to open his mind to a new or different possibility of things, especially when it comes to people. Pen's black and white way of thinking has often gotten him in trouble, and continues only to be a hindrance to his relationships; he dislikes thinking that he might have made a mistake.
HOBBIES
Aerials - More specifically, aerial silk performances. Introduced to the Moonglow Circus as a young child, Pen spent most of his life training nearly every single day with aerial silks and grew into an impressive, extremely talented performer. He is still a member of the local circus company (not a large scale one) and performs routinely at events such as carnivals, dinner theatre, parties, and mitzvahs.
Dancing - A modern dancer at heart, Pen's dance training goes hand in hand with his aerial training. He has a love for all things fluid and graceful, and to him, dancing is simply another expression of himself, one that is a little easier to maintain at times. He does not belong to any dance company currently, focusing mostly on his other job.
Gymnastics - Where aerial silks give Pen an extraordinary amount of upper body strength, he uses gymnastics to train the rest of his body, mind, and sense of self. He finds it necessary and easily entertaining to learn how to do gymnastics, and takes what he learns very seriously. It's something he does when he wants to put his mind at ease.
