The tournament is taking place in the Castle in Negaspace, in a large room that has been designated towards the event. It is very spacious and there is a ring where the participants will fight, as well as seats around it for viewers. You are greeted by General Aurostibite, standing off to the side to monitor!

The rules are simple: fight your opponent using whatever methods you have available to you - physical strength or magic - and whoever is left standing at the end is the winner! Aurostibite adds, in a tone of voice that doesn't quite indicate whether he's joking or not, to please try not to kill anyone.

OOC RULES:

- THIS FIRST BATTLE YOU WILL HAVE 96 HOURS (4 days) to complete because I am starting them early. The rest will be 72 hours. If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.

- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.

- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.

- If you have any questions, please contact kuropeco through Discord or PM!

THE MECHANICS

Each person roll 1d20 in their first post! The person with the higher number is the first to attack!

Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)

( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )

Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!

The person with HP remaining after someone gets to 0 is the winner!

Alum had arrived with one goal: Impress the one who was to witness this whole debacle and get in possibly good with the top brass of the negaverse. Not that he had to, but Alum always did get the feeling that as a corrupt senshi, he had quite a bit to work about when it came to making a good impression. Especially given that most agents hated senshi and youma just straight up wanted to eat him and in a very not fun manner.

Twirling a lock of his overly long hair, the senshi of abyss smiled as he saw his opponent. "Hello!" He called out to them, entirely chipper about the prospect of victory and maybe even an award.

"Let's have a good fight yeah?"

Mab had signed up because Tourmaline said to. And because Aue said it was good experience...and because the talking cat said it would be 'fun'. Fun was going shopping with Court, or teasing Hals about using the wrong strength of bleach and causing a bald spot. Getting magically naked, magically dressed, and then parading about Drag Race style wasn't exactly not fun...but it wasn't the same sort of fun.

Fighting sounded less fun.

Still, his opponent was cute in a campy-BBtSSB goth sort of way. That ABJD enthusiast sort of way that had gotten popular and waned over his lifetime but still had really nice photographs in flickr accounts if you wanted to admire some really need modifications and paint jobs. They seemed...nice...enough, at first glance.

Oh lord, it's a puppy-- Mab stepped into the arena after hearing the rules and was greeted by the most chipper hello he'd gotten since his welcome to boarding school. "Absolutely charmed." His response, while more reserved, was still friendly enough for having just met, informally, the posh, clipped accent of a Brit coming across no doubt like that of a super villain thanks to Hollywood's indoctrination of the American masses.

"Let's."

Grinning, Alum figured it would be good to both introduce himself and maybe lay some basic rules out. After all, there was no reason they needed to be nasty with each other, (even if the guy looked and sounded like the type he'd not mind getting nasty with).
"Alum of the Abyss, at your service. Well, less service since I only do what the generals tell me really." He winked, as if they shared some kind of joke.

"Let's try to be decent with each other yeah? Nothing in the face- I mean I need the money maker and all."

"Mab of Spindles." Okay, well...at least that was something of an introduction. And the chirpy little thing was trying to lay out some ground rules that he could get behind, after all...a girl's face was an important asset and although makeup could cover a myriad of sins, sometimes bruises were really hard to manage. Swelling could be impossible.

"Agreed, no face shots."

He took a few steps forward, tapping his cheek in a considering manner, "You say your face is your 'moneymaker'? Darling that's...well, there's no accounting for taste I suppose. But really, you must learn to moisturize! I can see the flakes from here, it's not a good look. I'm sure you'd make so much more if your skin were properly hydrated." Mab folded both of his hands together before him in a steeple, pressing the first two to his highly glossed lips.

Alum blinked as the words began to sttle in.

No... taste....

His smile quickly fell into a look of pure horror. He was- oh no. Touching his skin he tried to suss out how bad it must have been then-
"Excuse me?' He yelled, eyes narrowing. "Here I was trying to be nice and you- Augh, I can't believe I even thought you were cute!" Alum sneered.

"Guess just because you're pretty on the outside doesn't mean youre not rotten at the core then."

Tourmaline might not have walked Mab to the arena personally, but considering he'd gone and signed himself up for the event she didn't feel that she had to and that was important. Of course, that didn't mean she wasn't invested in the outcome... Or that she had no intentions of taking the time to check in. That was why she was there, after all.

Seems like she'd arrived just in time to see a fight similar to the way things once went back and forth between she and Sailor Dia....

Memories.

"Get on with it already! Mab, you could've been done with this by now! You're missing Nitratine's fight~"

"Aw, baby, you thought I was cute? That is so sweet!." Tourmaline's voice cut across the arena, jolting him from Alum's precious little pout. Well damn, if his General was here, then he had to settle down to business. Didn't he? "Oh fine then."

Not to say that the barb his opponent had thrown hadn't stung, because it had. Being pretty inside as well as out was important, after all. No girl wanted to hear that she was ugly anywhere...and girls like Mab were even worse about it than the usual ones. But he couldn't worry about it overly much, not when he was being told to get on with it. Sulking about being called ugly inside would have to come later...probably when he got back home and could tell Court about having been tossed an apple joke. Which was cute, because they all knew he was a dragon, not a piece of fruit!

Mab brought his hands forward, then one up, spinning it up around his head as he called to the magic within. Above his head, three large spindles formed, glowing in the swirl of green and black. "Sorry sweetheart, when my General calls, I obey. You know how it is, right?" Mab winked at Alum, blew him a kiss and then cast the magic at the other corrupt with a flick of his wrists.

"Mystic Spindle!"

iStoleYurVamps
Three (3) large-sized glowing spindles form from swirling green-and-black magic before flying at the enemy; the attack feels like a solid punch wherever it strikes and can potentially knock back the opponent.

Further damage as ‘flavor’ text is possible per player wishes: tearing, shredding, scarring, etc. - at worst it's like having a non-critical body part caught in an small explosion's shrapnel.

Per BSSM canon, this attack can be used two (2) times per battle.

Beatrix ran to the spectating area excitedly as she saw the super cute goth looking fellow. Instantly deciding that they should win on principle due to their superior attire. This time she decided to stand as she watched. This time she had caught the introductions and learned the name for the one she wanted to root for. Waving her arms as she rooted enthusiastically, barely visible in the crowd due to her small size.

"WOOOOOOOO go Alum!"

Alum's mouth was set in a line, teeth gnashing behind his lips. This guy was just- just- Oh he was insufferable. Alum had tried to be nice, tried to resist the urge to get nasty and start tossing out shade like it was high school all over again but- oh this guy was just getting under his skin.
Men that pretty shouldn't be this rude.

The magic forming has Alum quickly tossing out thoughts of his opponent being pretty or not, because magic meant danger. and danger often lead to pain. Cheers didn't reach his ears as he tried to move out of the way, but magic was unkind, and it caught him under the ribs, pain exploded behind his eyelids and he fell with an undignified yelp.

Lifting a hand quickly he glared at the other corrupt, malice filling his voice.
"Fall."

Targeting a single person, Apollo makes eye contact with their target, and puts them into a state of sensory deprivation/hallucination. It can be used twice in battle and last 30 seconds. In this state the target cannot feel, see, hear, taste, touch anything- their mind is active, and they hallucinate that which is their darkest fears. They can still move, attack/lash out and talk, but they cannot infer anything happening around or to them.

Really, Mab felt a little twinge of something that might have been guilt at slamming the full force of his magic into Alum, after all the little Ball Jointed Doll brought to life had been a good sport so far, had even been nice, if a bit exuberant. It wasn't as though this were a death match, after all, and that spell had hit hard enough to make him yelp like a scalded puppy.

Oh dear.

Well, he could have used it again, but...perhaps not. That would be too much. She wasn't that vicious, even with the General barking.

Oh- Oh. But then Alum's magic cast and caught, wrapping around him in a nightmare too real to be anything but pure, unadulterated misery. Even knowing it must not be real, must only be magic with time limits or something, it was awful. He lost contact with the arena completely, felt nothing of the world that had been around him on any level - and then the vicious little b*****d's magic went two-fold and hallucinations began.

Still, he found that he could breathe, and if he could take in air he could let it out, which meant he could talk. Despite the heightened heart rate, his voice was rather steady when he spoke, he'd had years of practice against bullies and real live horrors growing up - magical spooks really weren't the worst things that could happen. He'd bluffed out more terrifying situations with less to back him up.

"Well isn't this just the most cowardly little manner of attack, good lord sweetheart, what a distressing bit of magic you've got. Almost like you really are just an abyss of nothing, huh?" Mab made a sad tsking sound, not wanting to move lest he hurt himself accidentally, forcing a mental timer above the horrors playing in his mind. "I suppose it could be really useful on a weaker opponent though, like some of those White Moon folks, I don't think they've met too many real monsters like we have, huh honey?" Sweat beaded lightly at the nape of Mab's neck and a single drop made the trip along his spine under his costume, hidden.

iStoleYurVamps
Seriously though, his magic is terrible and awful and Mab is a lying wench.

SPECTATOR

On the edge of the ring, Quintinite stood with an expression of utter boredom on his face.

Granted, it was an expression he wore on the best of days, and even when he was interested in something, he tended to react less extravagantly to it than most people. At present, he was still trying to figure out what on earth was actually happening, because while he'd fully intended to sign up for whatever this was - a tournament - he hadn't actually gone through with it.

Instead, he was standing here, doing nothing, observing.

It was entertaining, at least. People beating each other up was always a hilariously intriguing sort of ordeal, and although Quintinite was still new to the Negaverse in general, everything about it screamed look at me look at me, from the elaborate, decorated uniforms, to the enormous, purple castle they were currently situated in.

At least he was used to that. Circus life meant extravagance to the max, after all.

The two up for battle currently were both unfamiliar, which was hardly surprising, considering that Quintinite knew approximately zero people in the Negaverse. His recruiting General had been polite and calm, but entirely disinterested in him after having pulled him in; Quintinite wasn't sure whether he appreciated the lack of hovering or whether he was annoyed at the lack of general information and / or help when it came to understanding things.

Probably a mixture of both. It was hard to say.

There were people mingling around the ring, watching, yelling. Quintinite wasn't really a yeller, but maybe he'd break his rule this time if he found something or someone exciting to cheer for. There were two corrupted senshi up to bat, rather than Negaverse lieutenants, which was saying something; Quintinite was a Lieutenant, but he was also a General-less Lieutenant, and had yet to encounter many of either. The senshi were, at the very least, fractionally more interesting than the regular officers were at the moment, and this was entirely due to the magic they held

Quintinite had no magic of his own. In fact, all he had was a red staff with a heart on the end of it that looked like it belonged in Alice in Wonderland, but it was made of good, solid metal, and that at least gave him a bit of leverage overall. It wasn't great, but it would do. It wasn't magic, though - not like the magic he'd seen in the fights so far.

He was a little envious, to tell the truth. Quintinite took a few steps closer to the ring, arms folded across his chest, a look of deep concentration on his face as one of the senshi did something with his hands that Quintinite couldn't quite see - probably casting magic? Or maybe he was just flipping his opponent the bird, because really, it could have been either one. He leaned back again after a moment, reaching up to tug on a lock of his long hair, idly smoothing gloved fingers along a curl and then twirling it around his index finger in a gesture that was entirely unconscious but simultaneously an unknown habit.

Maybe he'd route for the louder one. Or he could route for the grumpier one with the pretty outfit. It was a toss up who would win, but it was, at least, amusing, which was good enough for Quintinite.

He dropped his hand from his hair and cupped both around his mouth.

"Go, Mab! Lookin' great, sweetheart!"

He had no idea who Mab was, but that was beside the point.

HP: 7

Alum was left with a blessed space of time to recover, his magic borrowing him it with it's usual flair. From gold eyes on the floor, he watched Mab's profile as the magic took hold, and the other man not longer seemed fixated on him. Coughing and wincing as he stood, Alum was thinking of what to do. He could take advantage, attack while the other man was prone like his magic allowed him to. Or he could bide his time, watch and see how he reacted once the magic faded, see how it might have affected his mental state and-
Well, Alum did hope in a tiny part it might cause the man to be a little less vicious. But, such things were really a fool's hope. The man's words brushed off his magic as if it was cowardly, weak- for a moment, Alum thought he might have been mistaken, that his magic wasn't effective.

Fine. This guy wanted to be cruel? Alum could do cruel. He could be vindictive. He could be his power.

"That's the point." He said, holding back the hints of pain and trepidation he felt. There was no need to let him see past a facade. No reason to give the man more ammunition than necessary. It was hard to tell when and if the magic faded sooner than later. So he'd play it safe, slowly circling around his opponent before attempting to strike out and gab the man by his hair.

It would serve him right.

Mab still couldn't see what Alum was doing, which was worrying. Less worrying was the nightmares inside his head, which were really just...awful but at least he could tell himself - over and over - it wasn't real, it was special effects, which he worked with all the time. That helped.

In the end? What really helped was the sharp pull on his scalp as that b***h pulled his hair. That grounded Mab and he whirled, swinging wildly to get the other senshi to release the hold he had. He missed hitting the other completely, but that was fine because he was free again.

Finally the word came clamouring back into focus - all of his senses assaulted suddenly with too loud, too bright, too much all at once -- and that was even worse than Alum's stupid magic, really. Rage helped staved off the dizzying sensations, rage helped focus Mab on his target. No one touched his ******** hair without permission. No one.

"Do not touch my hair."

There were medical aid stations set up around the fighting ring, along with bottles of water and snacks to keep up stamina and nutrition. Aurostibite stepped over, waving a red flag.
