While the morning is full of seminars and classes, the afternoon is dedicated to guided tours of the new hospital for all curious visitors who wish to see the inner workings of the large facility.

You have signed up for such a tour and now find yourself being guided by young Amelia Hadly. You're not really sure how a young child found herself in the position of tour guide or why, exactly, that you've agreed to follow her but soon enough you and about nineteen other people are trailing behind a chattering child who is (sure enough) explaining how the hospital works to the best of her eight year old abilities. She takes you around to the gift shop to show you their collection of stuffed animals and cute balloons, following after with a tour of the exquisite four star kitchen attached to the cafeteria. The kitchen is large, designed to create enough meals for eight hundred patients three times a day - and apparently a great deal of cake, if what Amelia is telling you is true.

You find yourself led into the back of the kitchen. There are rows of stove tops, ovens, and fridges scattered around the room. Various kitchen supplies are out, perhaps for display? In the back corner, however, there seems to be an excess supply of random hospital paraphernalia. Perhaps someone was using the area for storage?

The small child claps her hands excitedly together as she stands in front of the group. It's clear that she's very excited to be given the opportunity to lead a tour group, even if the only thing she'd accomplished so far was getting the group lost in the depths of the large kitchen.

"Daddy says that here at Destiny's Star, the sick people who come here are gonna get SO much better after we take care of the--eeeeeeeeee!"

Her words morph into a squeak as the lights shut off, leaving you and the rest of the group in total darkness. Amelia clearly has no idea what's going on, as she starts crying loudly.

"W-WHERE DID THE LIGHTS GO??"
PostPosted: Sat May 06, 2017 2:46 pm

The speaker system overhead crackles on and an deep, ominous laughter fills the entire kitchen. Depending on your history with the magical characters of Destiny City, you may recognize the voice of a notorious redheaded General.

"Hello, hello, testing... 1...2...3...."

A shrill sound pierces through the speaker system, followed by a second chuckle.

"There we go. Hiya, friends of the new hospital! Wow, it's dark as s**t in there! Don't worry, the emergency lights will flicker on shortly. Or not. Not my problem! But let's skip right to the important things."

Clearing his throat, a muffled voice of another female was picked up in the background. The male voice, however, continued.

"My name is General Obsidian and while I would love to personally see to your enjoyment of my new hospital, I'm afraid I am way too important for that s**t. My buddies will see that you enjoy your stay."

At that moment, the back-up lights come on, allowing you the ability to dimly see the room around you. It's only a fraction of the light that you'd started with, but it's better than nothing.

"Huh, they work after all!. As I was saying, I have a few friends that are very eager to meet you. But as much as I love a good bloodbath, I'd rather see you guys put some effort in.... so.... if you can make it out of the hospital in one piece, you win! Isn't that just great?

The female voice crackled over the system, her words and voice unrecognizable.

"Of course, if you don't make it out, my compadres will make sure you're comfortable. You know, smeared on the walls, thrown in the morgue, tossed in the incinerator.... But anyways, I digress. Please have a WONDERFUL time and we wish you the best of luck... ta-ta!"

With that, the speaker system hisses as it shuts off completely.

Despite the darkness of the room, it isn't hard to see (or hear) the wailing of the young, terrified child who is now clutching tightly to the teddy bear she'd brought along for the trip.

"S-S-Somebody please get me out of here!!!"

While Amelia provides little to no help, you feel that maybe you'd be better off if you got your hands on something from the pile of junk in the corner....

You know, just in case....

Please roll ONE 6-sided dice to determine your weapon below:

Caspian Lyons - bedpan /gazes

"Oh for the love of - "

The tour had been bad enough for Caspian, who did not particularly care for all of the glitz and glam and donations - and he had suffered alongside of Michael for the better course of fifteen minutes now, wondering when the earliest time he could come out would be, only to find the lights disappearing.

And the voice of a damned General over the loudspeakers.

"s**t."

It was spoken with vehemence and annoyance, loud enough for anyone in the nearby vicinity to hear. Caspian couldn't even see Michael, but he could feel him, his fingers twined together with his fiance's, the press of their arms together at least helping to soothe Caspian's nerves a little.

"Do you know an Obsidian?" he muttered to Michael, "I don't think I recognize the name."

He bent down, still keeping ahold of Michael's hand - because like hell he was going to be separated in a pitch black hospital in the middle of a crazed Negaverse s**t - thing - whatever it was - and rummaged around on the floor, trying to see if he could grab anything that could help.

He straightened a moment later, hand clutched around -

"Is this - it is. It's a ******** bedpan."

Basil Whybourne - IV pole

Basil, standing in the middle of the room, tried to figure out what on earth was going on.

He hadn't even wanted to come, and yet here he was. Here he was, with a pole in his hand - a pole he couldn't even see, though he was relatively certain it was an IV stand - listening to the mad ravings of a Negaverse General - an unfamiliar one, to boot - and also he was hungry.

Basil wilted a little where he stood.

"Um," he said, "Is, um...what's going on?"

A pause.

"Help."

Michael Gallo

The lights going out wasn’t so much of a cause for alarm as the introduction of a General Obsidian was. Michael frowned, glancing from his fiance beside him, to where he was sure his brother had wandered off to not so far away. So the Negaverse was involved in this?

“Never heard of him. Maybe he’s new,” he leaned down to hiss in Caspian’s ear, following him to the piles of junk that laid around. There was a pause and then he whispered, “Don’t power up yet.” He picked up some useless piece of fabric before absolutely everything was snatched up, although paused to eye Caspian’s grab. The bedpan probably wasn’t going to do much, but it was better than nothing.

Besides, Caspian had Michael with him, so he really didn’t have to worry about. Probably.

“Hang onto it, anyway. Who knows when it could come in handy,” he grumbled.

Peter Gallo

It wasn’t that he was bored, he was just tired. He’d stayed up way too late the night before after the gala had ended, and now that was starting to hit him. He’d caught sight of Benji in their group, as well as Raleigh, and tiredly tried pulling them together to walk with, but the moment things started getting weird when they were taken to the back of the kitchen, Peter perked up a little more.

“Aw, man…” he groaned, not really in the mood for anything weird. He was actually hoping to go home and nap after all of this. And then go out later to look for youma, but still.

“Hey, a*****e,” Peter shouted pointlessly up at the overhead system. “We have better things to do with our lives!”

Not that he expected this General Obsidian to care. Peter just really wasn’t looking forward to any kind of bloodbath.

Benji Rhodes

There was something comforting in the fact that Peter so readily came to his side during the tour, and Benji wasn't afraid to admit that. He, himself, was tired too, exhausted even before the gala, and now sore from spinning and dancing the night away. But he was happy and even felt himself compelled to hold onto Peter's arm for a little bit, giving them both some support they needed to try to stay awake during this kinda interesting tour.

Then the lights went out, and a voice over the speaker called out it's threats and he just growled angrily, giving Peter's arm a tight squeeze.

"Well... s**t..."

As everyone else started heading towards the junk pile, Benji swiped the closest thing he could, a nice little scalpel. For his fighting style, which was truly get up in people's faces and beat the s**t out of them, it worked best. Not that he expected to kill anyone.

Atleast not yet.

"It ******** figures this would happen..." he muttered to Peter, giving him a look in the dark room, returning to his side and holding onto his arm. He already couldn't see s**t, and the dark just made it worse. "I'm going to need you to help me, okay?"

"And I got your back. I swear no one is going to hurt you here..." Even in saying that, he wasn't sure if he believed it himself. It wasn't as if he was powered up as Chara. Yet.

Flo Beaumont - Phone (1d4 damage)

Florence had just wanted to see the new hospital but finding out that Ares… No, John was in the same tour had improved the experience immensely. The tall young man was fun to be around and between them, they shared the same secret. It made her feel warm and included when she was around him.

Though she was mostly silent as they followed their unlikely tour guide, she did stick fairly close to his side. Large blue eyes took in everything as they walked and she couldnt help imagining the people that would come here and the staff that would help them. Healers, maybe some with mystical powers, would soothe their pains and make them well.

The mention of cake was a distraction in the kitchen, at least until the lights went out and she was left blinking owlishly into nothingness. Sudden nervousness had her shifting back and forth on her feet, her hands smoothing down her powder pink skirt over galaxy leggings. Her heart flew up into her throat as a man came on the loud speaker.

“John?” She whispered, hoping Ares would hear her. This was bad… this was the Negaverse, wasn’t it? These people were in danger, but she couldn’t call her rope here… they’d all see it. They had to find a place to hide… When the lights came on, she sidled with the rest to grab up the makeshift weapons and something long and snakey caught her eye. A broken phone, with a long cord, was near enough the weapon she was used to wielding and she snatched it up gratefully, glad to have something in her hands… even if she wasn’t precisely sure what she was going to do with it.

wuthering gee

Orah Gowan - Oxygen Tank (1d12 damage)

A new hospital had been an exciting thing to hear about and Orah had made a point of jumping onto the sign up list when tours were offered. Nearing the end of her schooling, it wouldn’t be long before she’d be out working as a nurse herself. She’d wanted to see how much of the latest technology this new hospital had and what it would offer to the city. She’d be so excited when she’d arrived and queued up for her tour…

Only to be a bit confused and then a lot disappointed when it turned out her tour guide was a young girl. She was lovely and her chattering was adorable, but from the first moment they set out, she’d been doubtful that she was really going to see the full range of the hospital’s capabilities. That had been born out by a tour that started at the gift shop and then seemed to stall out in the large expanse of the hospitals kitchen… and left Orah sighing quietly to herself as she wandered around the edge of the group, at least getting a good look at the food prep areas even if they weren’t what she really wanted to see. Maybe the tour would actually make it to the other areas… she could hope right?

Abruptly the lights went out an a wail went up as little Amelia was startled. Orah blinked, looking up, and wondered how long before the back ups got things going again. Surely they had back ups… it would be dangerous for people on life support or in intensive care to be without the support of their machines… not to mention everything else that went into taking care of patients. This hospital, or any hospital, couldn’t afford to be without power…

Then the overhead came to life and Orah felt her stomach drop into her shoes as laughter poured out of it. Her suspicions were confirmed in moments and as soon as the lights came back on she was moving, darting to the pile of discarded medical equipment to look for something to wield as a makeshift weapon. There was no way she could transform in here, not without knowing who was a civilian or a negaverse officer. Things were going to get bad very quickly and her fingers closed around the neck of an old oxygen tank, hefting it up as she straightened and turned to view the people she was going to be fighting along side.

How many of them were one of the enemy?

Tom Wolf

Well... this REALLY wasn't what he had signed up for when he decided to go on the tour. He was hoping that he could see the place and decide if he would be willing to be doing his eventual residency here or somewhere else. Unfortunately, for some reason, they decided a small child would be the best one to show them around. And while Tom didn't begrudge the child, he definitely kept the Star hospital as marked off, clearly because they didn't seem to care who led their tours.

Although he had enjoyed the gift shop, he had wondered why they were wandering into the back of the kitchen. The place looked... odd to say the least. It looked like a kitchen, but there was also so much random hospital paraphernalia that he wondered if they hadn't quite been able to decide if they wanted to use it as a kitchen, or for some reason they had decided to use it as storage.

However,t he lights suddenly went off, and Tom immediately went to turn on his cell phone's flashlight application. He was sure the lights would be back on soon, until he heard the announcements. Of course he thought to himself, extra glad that he hadn't brought his brother along. His brother didn't need another attack on him.

With the warning that there might be bloodshed, either from others, himself, or whatever they had unleashed in the hospital, Tom decided to grab something, which happened to be a scalpel, he would have to be careful, and to see what was going on

Ildri Lacole - Grabbing an oxygen tank

What the hell? She was placed in a group led by a child? What sort of organixation was this having children give tours of hospitals? Ildri was almost ready to pick up and just leave right at that point, but, she pressed on and found herself in the kitchens with the rest of the group.

The child was going on about her father and the hospital and Ildri rolled her eyes as she shoved her hands in her pockets.

The lights went out. Good job new hospital.

Then a voice came on the loudspeaker and Ildri was immediately wondering if perhaps she’d been pulled into some sick joke. Or perhaps her new General had set up some sort of sick sort of exercise? She glanced around. Naw that couldn’t be. Not with so many other people. So what the hell was going on here?

Spotting some trash in the corner that looked like it might hold some promising weapons, Ildri walked over and grabbed the heaviest thing she could find. An oxygen tank. That would ******** hurt for sure and she did not care if it was a General or something else. She was ticked off.

Weapon in hand, it's time for you to begin your adventure out of this place. State of the art facility or not, it's clearly been seized by the Negaverse and you didn't sign up for that!

Amelia is still sobbing relentlessly. Your bad feeling grows worse as you realize that you have no idea how to get back to the main entrance and that your fate relies on the knowledge of a snot-nosed child who won't stop crying for her dad as she choke-holds her teddy bear.

But wait. She'd been talking about her love for cake, right?

Maybe if you find some to offer her, she'll quiet down and actually be useful and show you a way out of the crazy huge kitchen!

Do you:

Option One
Check out the fridge.

Option Two
Investigate the walk-in cooler.

Option Three
Glance in the pantry.

Benji Rhodes [Choosing option Two, the cooler - He can't handle a sad little girl! Lets get her some cake! ]

Given everything going on, little Amelia's cries worried him more than the General's ranting, and he gave Peter's arm another squeeze. There was no room for butterflies or mushy feelings right now, so his mind was clear about his objective.

"Come on, Peter, lead me to the cooler. I'm sure there's something in there we can find to calm Amelia down, right? After that's done, we can try to escape."
