Hobbies:

Arts - Along the traditional lines of paint, charcoal and sculpture, Fine Art is a passion in her household and thus a passion of hers. Photography and music are also encouraged, if not as practiced as painting and drawing.

Crafts - Buttons, hot glue and ribbons! Craft and second-hand store fodder re-purposed and given new life. Recycle, Upcycle, finding new uses for old things. She watches a lot of DIY videos on youtube and loves customizing the things she owns or making things that are pretty and functional.

Fiction & Poetry - The written word is as much an art medium as any other. Her tastes run fantasy and sci-fi, but anything will do, really.



Virtues:

Creative/Imaginative -- She lives and breathes the creative life and process. Its all about self-expression through different media and her methods are eclectic, ranging from paint and pencil to hot glue and glitter. This also applies to her problem solving, coming up with new or different ways to approach an obstacle. Her mind often strays into the realm of fantasy where anything is possible.

Thoughtful -- Its rare that she jumps into anything without thinking it through first. Evidence is gathered and processed, options are weighed and examined. Differing viewpoints are considered, even if discarded later. This adjective can also be applied to how she approaches people and how she treats them, taking into consideration their thoughts and feelings and remembering them later. She has quite a good memory and learns easily.



Flaws:

Slow -- She's a smart girl, but sometimes, being too thoughtful or letting tangential thinking carry you away means that reactions to what is happening in the real world are kind of slow on the uptake. She takes longer than most to come to decisions about things and sometimes special considerations had to be arranged with a school for things like timed tests, where she needs more than the average student to finish it all. She has learned to prepare for things ahead of time more than most, like getting up an extra hour early to make it to school on time and being careful not to dawdle between classes. 'Late' seems a perpetual state for her. Sports are also a no-go, because distraction and poor reflexes would mean getting beaned in the head with something quite a lot. Its not impossible to overcome this, with focus, but its hard.

Quiet -- She says what she needs to say and that's about it. Her family has learned how to deal with her silent communication, but it can be hard for her to relate well to others with mono-syllabic conversations. She can speak quite well, but its never been a comfortable way of expressing herself. This can lead to being over looked in a group because she won't speak up to call attention to herself and she's easy to steamroll over when she won't put out her own ideas and opinions without being directly asked.



PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Height: 5'10"

Body Type: Very thin and boyish. Her face and body proportions are generally on the 'long' side. She strays from the typical feminine ideal to something more androgynous, and when dressed in floppy clothes or with her hair cut too short, could easily be mistaken for a boy. The proper clothes and makeup could turn her into quite the high fashion lovely, but she's never had a reason to attempt such a feat.

Eyes: Bright summer sea blue; large, thickly lashed and expressive. About the only really feminine feature to her.

Hair: Short, soft and fluffy. Too short to have anything but the front pulled back, she wears a lot of fanciful headbands and hair clips. Blonde.

Face: She has a strong, straight nose and a firm chin, with ears a tad on the large side. Large, round, wire framed glasses.

Clothes: Meadowview uniform, but out of uniform, she tends towards thrift store finds and DIY things, mushed together in a fanciful and eclectic style. She wears a particular item not because it's fashionable or even works with her outfit, but because she likes it and wants to wear it today.

Family:

William Beaumont -- Flo's father. He works in advertising and was transferred to DC by his company. He was at one point married to Regina Reeves and they had a daughter, Rhiannon. He and Regina divorced when Rhi was about two and he remarried Cheyenne Moore shortly after. They have two daughters together.

Cheyenne Beaumont-Moore -- Flo's mother. Hippy artist, she lives and breaths art of all kinds, which is where Flo inherited it and who encourages her in her pursuits. She has had some small luck selling some paintings and sculptures, but mostly lives as a stay-at-home mom after moving to DC. She's looking to set up an art gallery in town.

Lorainne Penrose Beaumont -- Flo's 16 year old sister. She's far more extroverted than Flo and more into fashion as her artistic outlet. Fashion and boys.

Rhiannon Epona Beaumont -- Flo's half-sister from her father's first marriage. Flo has known for a while that she had a half sister, but they've never met. She's hopeful they will someday, but her father seems to think Regina and her daughter want nothing to do with them.



Interesting Facts About Flo:

• She may not say much, but Flo is constantly thinking, dreaming and imagining. Its quite often that her thoughts turn into flights of fancy and she goes off on a wild adventure in her head. It inspires her art, but can also leave her slightly disconnected with reality. She has a childish habit of playing pretend when she thinks no one is watching. Hey, its not hurting anyone, right?
  
  
• She totally believes in magical creatures. Unicorns, mermaids, fairies... she realizes its probably childish, but scientists are discovering new things all the time. Doesn't that mean there is still lots of stuff no one has seen yet? It certainly doesn't limit what could possibly be out there.
  
  
• Flo is far-sighted, so really only needs her glasses for reading or close up activities. She has a tendency to not wear them if she doesn't need to, because she's been teased for them before.
  
  
• Flo has been teased a lot in school for being so slow, quiet and awkward. Its left her rather introverted. Usually, bullying at school leads to cathartic art projects at home, which is how her parents usually gauge their daughter's mental state, since she rarely talks. They've learned to read the difference between 'I painted blood because I wanted to play with reds' and 'I painted blood because I'm upset'.
  
  
• Flo is a bit of a late bloomer. She likes anyone who is pretty and will crush and admire, but she has no real interest in pursuing her love interests and wouldn't know what to do with it if anyone showed interest in her. Its hard to say yet if this is just her coming into herself late, or if she's truly asexual.
