Name: Meechi Aurrom
Meechi is a nickname of the name Demetrius, which is derived from the goddess Demeter.
Aurrom is an anagram for the word armour.
Blood color: Jadeblood (#078446)
Gender: male
Symbol: The
Mars symbol. The spear and shield, to represent his responsibilities and drive to protect.
Profile:Meechi was fortunate to be born where he was. Whether it be nature or nurture, the young jadeblood has taken to the rebel life quite well. At a very young age he developed a rather different view on the hemospectrum than most. While he does observe the caste's differences, he views them from a strictly cultural standpoint. In his thinkpan, Meechi believes every caste has a unique and rich heritage that is worth digging into and holding onto. However, he also believes that the pecking order is utter nonsense. The thought that one
color is intrinsically more important than another is simply ridiculous. His peculiar view of the hemospectrum makes him a particularly approachable troll, with very few hangups about an individual due to their hue. Of course this led to the young boy to having a very invested interest in Bloodfest and the various heritages it celebrates.
Due to the fact that his own caste's heritage is all but lost, Meechi pines for any bit of information he can gather on jadebloods. While texts and information on Alternia's past prior to the current empress' reign are almost impossible to come by, he relies on oral history and any bits of information he can glean from elder trolls. He dreams about the night (or day) that he meets an adult jadeblood. The information he could gather from them would be priceless.
Being a jadeblood himself is a massive stroke of luck as far as Meechi is concerned. He adores the sunlight, often breaking his waking hours into the last 1/3 of the night and the rest of his 2/3rds being awake in the sunlight. He finds sunrises and sunsets both stunning, but there's something about a crisp, hopeful sunrise that just gets the young jadeblood pumped. He is determined to find other jadebloods, often taking journeys into the desert to seek out reclusive jadeblood hives, either present or past. His obsession with history leads him to hoard anything he might come across from an abandoned hive that he believes to have once belonged to a jadeblood. Of course as a child much of this is conjecture. He hopes to hone his archaeological skills as he grows into his role as a jadeblood.
Speaking of which, Meechi believed himself to be utterly blessed once Byakko approached him about his caste's bygone duty of caring for an active mothergrub and troll wrigglers. While he only knows the very basics about his caste from his Mother, (the fact that his kind once cared for birthing mothergrubs, can withstand the harsh sunlight, and some obscure legend about rainbowdrinkers) he has always felt the urge to protect pulsing through his veins. After having the rebel leader approach him, and inform him that he will be entrusted with helping to care for their active mothergrub once he grows into the responsibility, Meechi began to train rigorously and listening to every slight ailment and physical needs of his Mother in anticipation for his duty.
Meechi views it as his responsibility (and his duty as a jadeblood) to protect the rebels and other jadebloods (if he ever finds others). Going so far as to consider other rebels his brothers and sisters (afterall, they were all borne from the same mothergrub, or at the very least chose this difficult path) he will always put himself in harms way in order to protect those he believes are under his watch. This has given Meechi a rather gruff, rabble-rouser exterior. He spends a lot of his time physically training in order to become a capable guardian. His views on royalists are directly connected to this sense of duty. Royalists all pose a threat to him, his family, and most of all the rebel's active mothergrub. He is extremely wary of any troll that strongly aligns themselves with the Alternian crown.
The jadeblood boy also considers motorbikes a superior mode of transportation. He isn't necessarily the most mechanically minded troll, but the lowest level of his hive is littered with mechanical parts and various weights and training equipment. He works vigorously on piecing together an all-terrain bike that is capable of traversing through the deserts, in particular. Not to mention how cool it would look for him to bike from his outpost hive to the swamp village.
Though his duty to the Phoenix Initiative and the mothergrub comes first, he is a very open and approachable troll. While he is always up for a spar, or a training session, he will never place a troll outside of their comfort zone. While he tends to give the benefit of the doubt, if a troll just happens to rub him the wrong way, the rather boisterous jadeblood has no problem kicking some shins and talking kiddie smack (in front of their face of course. Talking behind someone's back is just poor form).
Due to his particular station in life. Meechi isn't a troll to easily forgive betrayal. After-all, betrayal can mean the difference between a thriving troll community and one that flounders and dies. If one were to break the jadeblood's trust, they would have to make a very obvious act of reparation in order to repair the rift.
While he revels in the sunlight, Meechi is never too proud to wish for company during the brightest hours. He often talks aloud to himself during the daylight hours, a troll that might lend a spongeclot to listen to his concerns would be a major boon for Meechi.
Strengths:Protective: Ever since Meechi was capable of cognizant thought he has been a troll of defense. He has considered his existence as a form of protection, to both his lusus and the trolls he is intertwined with. Whether they be a rebel or jadeblood, the young Meechi will stick his neck out in order to guard the troll in his direct field of affect. For better or for worse.
Motivated: There are still many mysteries on Alternia, one of which directly concerns the history of the jadeblood caste. While Meechi may believe that the pecking order is an outdated instrument of the past, he still strongly believes that his culture has a rich heritage that is left for discovery. He will stop at nothing short of treason to the rebel initiative in order to uncover mysteries of the past.
Approachable: While Meechi may be a boisterous and rough and tumble troll, he is far from standoffish. The young jadeblood does his best in order to pay his respects to another caste's heritages. While reticent toward outsiders, he is still hospitable and willing to make room under his roof for a troll in need.
Flaws:Rowdy: While Meechi is an active fixture in the swamp village, the jadeblood is eager to test his mettle against other trolls. He is especially prone to provoking gruff interactions with trolls that might come across as a "tool" in his thinkpan. He is always eager to prove himself and hone his abilities in order to protect those that he believes falls under his protection. This can often translate into an unwelcome challenge.
Wary: While other swamp trolls and jadebloods may be considered family to Meechi, any others outside these circles are a direct threat to the rebel mothergrub. Especially royalists. Meechi will often clam up, or completely ignore royalist trolls when approached. He believes it's better to be considered a coward than give away any pertinent information on his fellow rebels or jadebloods. If put in a direct conflict he will most definitely defend his home and family.
Unforgiving: Trust is not easily retained. While Meechi may extend a friendly hand to many trolls, he is equally prone to retracting his trust if provided with a valid reason. Once his trust is broken it takes a massive effort in order to regain it.
Weapon: A shield.
Power: Jadebloods are all able to walk in the Alternian sun unharmed, and upon death become a rainbowdrinker.
