Name: Glain

Personality: Soft and Sweet

Glain loves to garden and in the summer through to the fall she plants her own food, which then sustains her and Shuckles through the winter. She lives with her mate, Shuckles a few miles from The Flock's territory. She left The Flock not long after becoming an adult due to differing ideals. She does not believe that males or females are better, but rather equals and should be treated as such. That being said, she does return home frequently to tend to the foals and enjoy the festivals. She is, however, still a Harpy at heart, and if the need arises she can be strong, willful, and on rare occasion violent. Now that she has given birth, something inside of her is stirring. Something more like her sisters. Something vengeful. She is hoping that the baskets are drawing the same kind of boldness from her mate.

User Image
Name: Shuckles

Personalty: Fearful and Rash

When Shuckles first met Glain he was terrified of her. However, after a great deal of running from her only to have her find him again, he finally got comfortable with the idea of her. He's unsure why she tolerates him, however, which raises a new fear inside of him -- how long until she grows tired of him? He does his best to believe her whens he says that she will never leave him but... it's hard some days. Wher eGlain is getting in touch with her roots now that the babies are here, however, Shuckles is drawing more into himself. He is terrified that there is something horrific inside that will kill the both of them.

Poor frightened Shuckles was given charge of the baskets while Glain went back to The Flock's lands for supplies. He begged her not to go, but she insisted that he would be fine and that no harm would come to the baskets with their father around.

But it was not the baskets that Shuckles was worried about.

As they shifted and cooed as baskets do, Shuckles couldn't help but imagine all sort of horrors that waited within, ready to pop out and gut both he and his mate. The longer she was away, the more his imagination worked, grinding out gruesome scenes with monsters posing as babies... He couldn't tell Glain his fears -- she would only laugh at him and reaffirm the lie that someone had told her. That these were their children. So sure was she in the lie, Shuckles knew she would never agree to leave a basket to the elements. If a demonw as born from that basket, she would insist on keeping it. She was so good, she'd try to raise it on her own, try to make it good like her until it slit her throat in the night -- oh gods. He had to act. He had to act to protect himself... to protect Glain

Just before Glain came home, Shuckles secreted the basket away, hiding it where the monster would never find a way back to them. On his way back home, feeling very proud of himself, he planned on a way to keep the rest of the demons from attacking. Glain would never understand the danger. But now that the threat had been cut by exactly one third, Shuckles felt himself in better spirits about explaining this to her. She had, after all, wanted him to get braver. What was more brave than protecting the mare that he loved?

He was so surprised when Glain did not see his logic. She arrived home, asked after the missing basket, and snapped. He could see in her eyes the fire that blazed in her fearsome sisters' eyes. She was so mild and gentle that Shuckles nearly forgot exactly what she was. A Harpy.

Glain took the baskets and went home, condemning Shuckels to the empty nest while she commiserated with her sisters, unsure if she would ever go home again.

But what about the basket? How does that story end? Well... that's up to you.

MIDORI'S A BABY HUNGRY MONSTER WARNING rofl

Username: .Tortured. .Pumpkin.

Foal Name: Sherry

Will the basket come home?: Not as a basket or a foal, but as an adult!

----------If so, how? If not, why not?: Well, y'know. It's me. XD
Midori will find the stowaway basket in her territory, and glee at the prospect of taking it home to raise herself.
That being said, Midori will always be brutally honest about where her babies come from, and when her newly adopted offspring becomes old enough, she will reveal its origin. It'll be really hard to tell exactly when and where the offspring will relocate its parents, because it'll partly depend on whether Glain chooses to stay with the other Harpies or not.
If the child does show Harpy qualities, however, Midori will be no stranger to the traits, and she'll inquire with them first. Chances are better than not that she'll have a new babe (or babies) at the hip by then, so she'll likely send Hipnotiq and Absinthe as escorts. That is, unless the child is male. If this is the case, she'd probably have to resort to Phae. Don't need three of her male babies getting snatched up, after all. XD
Should the child not show any distinguishable tell-tale Harpy traits, however, it will depend on its personality. While being raised by Midori will likely result in quite the little spitfire, some personality traits are generally inherited. Should the child get its father's paranoia, it may not want to seek out its parents at all. However, Midori always encourages her adoptions to try, if only so she can boast and gloat about how good of a job she did raising their children that they didn't care for. XD

Foal Name: Hok'ee ( Native American for Abandoned)

Will the basket come home?: No. At least not until they are an adult.

----------If so, how? If not, why not?:

Hok'ee had arrived into the world alone, abandonded and lost. The sense that something was missing from their life dug at their soul and ate at their mind until they felt like the world was against them. Why didn't they have their parents? Where were there? Perhaps they had died or been eaten by a creature much bigger than them.

Fear overtook them and they cried out in the night, all their feelings of loneliness and abandonment eating at them. They had some sliver of hope that perhaps in a day or so their family would find them but hope hurt. It left them with feelings of uncertainty. These feelings only continued to fester and grow....

- - - - -

With that being said Hok'ee is going to be extremely insecure and violent as a youngster but as they continue to grow on their own they're going to become to realize that if they keep acting irrationally they will never get anywhere in life.

As an adult they're going to be extremely strong headed. While growing up they'll have quite a number of encounters with other creatures to include my skinwalker at some point. If they have claws she'll be more curious about them than anything and try to manipulate them if they have hooves they'll try to attack them and possibly eat them.

Which will be the turning point for them and make them bolder and stronger as a character.

They'll likely wander back to the area their father abandoned them as they become an adult in search for answers. I would like for them to run into Shuckles and perhaps something about his personality triggers a memory of how they acted as a foal and makes them ask if they knew the area they were.

Ultimately they'll seek out their mother after running into their father and finding out they had been the one to abandon them.

Foal Name: Amaryanth

Will the basket come home?: Yes!! Hopefully as a young adult, not exactly fully grown ICly...

----------If so, how? If not, why not?: Firstly the basket is found by Lleuwyn Starfall and his cousin Lunellis Starrise. As well as Astaris, Lunellis guide snake. At first the little foal will most likely be born into a empty glade as Lell and Lune watch from nearby. Lell is a bit of a realist and knows a abandoned foal is a dangerous one. Lune will most likely be the first to approach the foal. After a short time and expliantion the flutter hybrid will request his cousin to tap his information network to help find the foals parents. I don't expect Shuckles to make the foal being reintroduced easy...I fully encourage it. Lell is a bit of a jerk and if Shuckles wants nothing to do with the foal, Lune will most defiantly go straight to the mother.

Which given he's a blind, flutter stallion hybrid....that should just be...fun.

Will the basket come home?: If male, yes once able to fend for himself. If female, Lith will fight to keep her.

----------If so, how? If not, why not?:
Lithrhovanel is a firm believer of female superiority and is on a quest to build an army or following of strong daughters, ones she can raise and train to be proud but fierce warriors that can survive whatever life throws their way. However, she has yet to find snag a male she's deemed worthy enough to foster her offspring and is growing restless. Upon stumbling on this basket, she'd decide to take it into her charge and raise it, hoping the foal within would prove to be something to sooth her desires - so to speak.

If the foal turns out to be male, Lith will raise him until he is old enough that he can fend for himself and then she'd send him on his way. He might try to follow her for a while but after being rejected he'll give up all together. Eventually after much searching and holding a grudge against the mare he believed to be his mother all along (Lith), he'd ideally find his true family and start a no doubt long and difficult process of healing and reuniting. Of course he'd be leery at first, almost afraid. He'd have many questions as to why he was abandoned not once, but twice. If it was something he did wrong and would he be able to fix it? He'll wonder why Shuckles feels fear towards him and start to wonder if maybe he should have remained abandoned and on his own.

If female however, Lith will keep the foal indefinitely (or try) and raise her to be the first of what she hopes will be many more strong warrior daughters. Even as the foal progresses to adulthood, Lith will have conditioned Vael to remain loyal and by her side. If Vael were to ever learn of her true parents, she'd probably struggle with feelings of resentment and abandonment but also the unexplained longing to know her true family. It would cause her to question this other mare who she's grown up to call mother and what kind of life she's missed out on, if she even missed out at all. She'd demand to know why she was the one 'lost' and the other two weren't, if she was deemed unworthy or not good enough to be kept.

Will the basket come home?: Yes, but as a foal.

----------If so, how? If not, why not?: The basket would be found initially by my Usdia Tallon. She will discover the basket just as the foal emerges, causing her maternal instincts to kick in despite still caring for her own son, who, despite being an adult, holds a child-like innocence in his view of the world around him so she has to keep caring for him. She will be heartbroken for the foal and search everywhere, travelling as far as the foal can walk, per day, trying to find its parents. Eventually she will come across the Flock and Glain hopefully recognises her baby, Tallon will happily leave the foal in the care of its mother after having the story related to her, she will ask to visit but would leave the family hopefully happily reunited, after giving the foal love, knowing it will continue to be loved with its real family.

Will the basket come home?: Yes!

----------If so, how? If not, why not?: Far, far away a pair of usdias are off adventuring the lands of Soquili, filling their hearts and minds with the wonders of the land. Along the way they save a Soquili named Rian, who after being stuck in a high bramble, dedicates his life to these two love birds. The trio continues on, fighting skin-walkers and helping little creatures.
One day they find a little crying basket, and Astraea knows just what to do. Find the parents! Ellessar on the other hand is not convinced, thinking it's a trap. But alas, love is a stronger bond and the trio start to hunt down the parents of the poor basket. Rian's ability to fly and his sharp, keen senses will help them track down the parents.
If Shuckles will not take it back (after they whole-heartedly explain that there is nothing wrong with the basket), they will try to find Glain, who they are sure will take her basket back.
Because I believe in happy endings.

Will the basket come home?: Yes

----------If so, how? If not, why not?: (Just going to go with the general 'He' here)
He is going to wake up alone, scared, and confused. No one he meets is going to know of his family or of him, but he is going to run into a Cheshire. Seraphima SlapJack, to be precise. She is going to find him a short time after he is lost, and will name him based on his colors, then let train him up a bit, give him a good taste for tea and for mixing up plants and other things to make paints, and branches off to another types of mixtures, herbs or poisons, or something between, or both. Haven't decided on that yet. But he is going to start living near Underland, just on the outskirts, watching and learning, and staying where Sera could find him, just because she is the only one he knows.
Though, he will come across a bird, who speaks of someone who looks likes him, a little, maybe. Multiple someones, perhaps. The bird is a little sketchy with information, but says enough to get him moving, to say his goodbye to the strange cat friend, and strikes out own his own. To find his family, if such a thing existed. He hoped for it, dreamed of it, but wasn't sure it was true, but oh, how he hoped.
His youthful hope will carry him swiftly in the direction that the bird had sent him, asking question after question, running into different Soquili along the way, some good, some not. The journey would be either really good or really bad, and it will have a profound effect on who he is as an adult, so I can't really say what he will be like when he grows up because it will be completely dependent on who he meets on his way to find his family. It will shape him into the stallion he will become.

Will the basket come home?: Eventually, yes. Either as a Foal or Adult.

----------If so, how? If not, why not?: I see this one being sheepish, shy and uncertain about most things. It will likely be found as a basket by my Mentha and she'll claim it to be her own for a while until the younger realizes he/she looks nothing like her and begins asking questions. Questions of which Mentha is unable to answer and eventually submits.
He/she will eventually decide to want to find their parents. Find out why they were abandoned and find some sort of closure, but when the time comes to actually venture to do so, it'll take some encouragement from Mentha to fully go through with it. Testing both of the Soqs to go outside their boundaries of comfort.
I also imagine that the shy child will likely have some temper tantrums like no other given it's harpy heritage. It's rare, but will still happen.

Will the basket come home?: Eventually... ;D

----------If so, how? If not, why not?:
I suspect the most likely case would be when they are fully grown and decide to discover their origins. Less than likely would be if they "find" their way home as a foal; in this case, it would be guided or returned by another Soquili familiar with the area to take a guess as to whom may have "lost" a foal. Until then, they'd be under the watchful and protective eye of their foster-parent(s).
It's most likely the Soquili who finds them as a basket may decide to raise them as one of their own until the time comes for Pag-asa to make a choice; stay with their adoptive family, or strike out and find their biological ones..?

Trigger Warnings for child hunger, and some mildly dark thoughts...

Username: Wasteland Wyvern

Foal Name: Chirp

Will the basket come home?: Chirp definitely will in his late adult years. Likely finally searching for the parents who abandoned him and the reaction will depend on which parent he finds first.

----------If so, how? If not, why not?: Instead of just giving you a little blurb about how the story will go I think I'll outline the plot points and RP's I want to do with little Chirp and hopefully that will explain how he finds his way home. <3

1.) In My Shell: This will be just a little dream the still basketed foal has about what they will find when they exit their basket. Naturally it will be rife will silly thoughts and impossible things.
When Shuckles takes the basket and moves it the dream may or may not turn sour and more into a nightmare.

2.) Emergence: As the basket lid unseals with a slight creaking pop the foal lifts the lid carefully to find nothing around them. Weak legs lift further hoping to see someone, anyone, but nothing greets the poor confused creature. Gently stepping free from the remains of its basket the foal wobbles and falls quite a few times before getting it right and managing to walk at least a bit. Above him the songs of birds. Its at this time that he takes his name. Chirp. After the birds that greeting his entrance to this world, for they were the only ones who cared.

3.) The Early Days: Chirp's ribs are beginning to show, and the taste of throw up was still sticking to his lips. Stupidly he had eaten some spiky leaves that looked okay and had upset his stomach fiercely and he had only stopped vomiting.
Being a little more smart he would start sticking to the thin bladed grass that seemed to be everywhere.

4.) My Darkest Days: Chirp is an older foal now and has recently started having nightmares about his family. Whenever he goes to sleep in the cavern that he calls home the nightmares come to torment him. The shadows whisper that he was not good enough and didn't deserve to have loved ones or a family, and no matter how Chirp tries to shake them off he knows the shadows are right. He wasn't good enough....

5.) Intruder: Chirp is becoming more sure of himself but when he comes home from foraging one afternoon its to the presence of a glowing eyed wolf in his cave. Worst of all the wolf talks! Chirp has no idea what to do with the creature so he ignores it for the time being. Not like he could converse back with it, having never really learned to talk being so alone out here.

6.) The Reluctant Foal: Chirp's home is now shared with the wolf who introduced itself as Firefly. He is quite amused by this creature who was one thing but took the name of another creature entirely. Much like himself. Slowly but surely Firefly had wormed her way into Chirp's heart and he had become very fond of her.

7.) Lessons: Firefly decided to take it upon herself to mother this poor foal, at least to the extent that it would let her. So she starts with teaching it to talk so that they may converse to some extent.

8.) Years Go By: A slight catch up montage of Chirp's life in the 'missing years'. Doing a plot for every single event is rough! xD

9.) A New Home: Chirp is starting to grow up and with his steadfast companion Firefly decides to finally search out a new home. The cavern was more meant for a foal anyway and only Firefly still lived in it since she was small.

10.) New Home, More Problems: Chirp is unprepared for the perils of keeping his/her new home safe. This is a run in with a Sutilona stallion of mine, Graham, who teaches Chirp what real fear is, and gives Chirp a few scars to remember him by.

11.) On The Move: After the run in with Graham, Chirp decides this area is unsafe and moves on once again. Firefly is weary of traveling but she understand the intent, even if she gripes quite a bit about it. This is going to be a slightly more humorous adventure, with Firefly making up all kinds of stories that both amuse and terrify Chirp.

12.) Finally Settled: It took some doing but finally Chirp has somewhere to call his own. He decorates it to some extent, though Firefly would call it more camouflage since he's been upending rocks and bushes to hide the new cavern entrance. Though even in the new home, the shadows and nightmares still abound...

13.) First Winter: A little time skip here as the young adult Chirp tries to ready himself for his first winter. A little warning here, Chirp will not come through this very well. He and Firefly will be a lot worse for wear when the spring comes....

14.) Shadows Fall: Chirp is not doing very well. His nightmares have become a nightly affair and not even Firefly can wake the young Soquili from them. Once morning Chirp finally decides that this life is not enough and the shadows won't be satisfied until he finds the reason why he was abandoned...

15.) The Quest Begins: Firefly is lamenting their newest lost home, but is understanding of why Chirp wants to find his parents. So together the two travel, unknowingly deep into harpy territory, to find whatever can be found.

16.) Witness: Chirp is resting in the bushes when he is suddenly awakened to the sound of a distressed voice. This voice is screaming for help. Chirp however is not a hero and refuses to act as one now. Instead he watches the event occur. Two Harpies are corralling their newest catch, a handsome Angeni stallion. Chirp watches as the stranger is caught, bound, and led off somewhere. This event disturbs Chirp and he decides to go the other way for a time.

17.) Father: Chirp comes across a nesting site, and wonders what exactly it is. Examining the site brings no new info, but as Chirp turns to leave he runs directly into Shuckles, and the resemblance is enough for Chirp to make the necessary connections. Needless to say this does not go well, especially when Shuckles condemns the young Soquili as a demon come to take its revenge.
After a heated argument Chirp goes his own way and doesn't look back, a sour taste firmly in his/her mouth.

18.) Shadows Return: After Chirp's encounter with Shuckes he begins to wonder if its even worth trying to find his mother especially after finding his father. That night the shadows and nightmares return with a renewed fierceness to torment Chirp.

19.) Captured: This is just as it sounds. Chirp gets careless and wanders right into a harpy trap. Captured by the less than friendly Soquili he is brought back to their home to await judgement. At this point Chirp almost doesn't care... He has gone through so much and is becoming very despondent, his once bright outlook on life with Firefly has become dim and unappealing. So he waits and watches to see what will occur.

20.) Mother: While Glain is visiting the flock and her sister she happens to wander by the area where new captures are held before its decided what's to be done with them, and a peculiar scent stops her in her tracks. Looking in she sees a young soquili who looks oddly familiar despite her having never met them in her life.
Chirp does not respond to her calls at first, having all but given up on everything. Finally Chirp looks up at the incessantly annoying sound, thinking to snap at it to shut up when his eyes meet Glain's. The surprise on Glain's face is enough to bring Chirp to his feet and talk to the mare on the other side.

21. Revelations and Planning: During the time of his confinement Chirp learns much of his mother and how much she wanted him to be raised with his other siblings. She was very unhappy with Shuckles over hiding the basket containing Chirp and despite how sad she is over Chirp having to all but raise himself is happy to see him again and hopes to learn more about Chirp and all he's been through.
During the night Chirp plans his escape, and Glain is none the wiser.

22.) The Escape: During the night when all was finally quiet Chirp made his move. Feigning a faint to bring the guard closer to examine what was going on he rose suddenly to his feet and headbutted her knocking the flock member out. Gently he noses his way out of the enclosure and makes his way down the cliffs barely escaping the notice of the patrols. Just as he thinks freedom is in sight the alarm goes up. The guard's unconscious form had been found, and he was under a time limit.
Careless steps taken in haste, and he slips and falls into a river rushing below....

23.) Somehow Alive: Chirp awakens to a soft tongue licking his face, and opens one bleary eye to find Firefly and a strange looking stallion with one blind eye watching him. The stallion introduces himself as Jokull and mentions how he was fishing in the river below the harpy turf and saw him fall from the cliffs. Mentioning how Chirp was damned lucky to have missed all the rocks he says that he drug him out of the water and ensured he was still breathing before waiting for him to wake up.
After Chirp feels strong enough to stand up he and Firefly thank Jokull for his help and they part ways. Chirp is smart enough to get his a** out of harpy territory before its too late.

24.) Home Again: After quite a bit of travel and some sheer blind luck Chirp finds his old cave again and happily takes up living there again. It takes some settling in and a lot of good night's sleeps before Chirp finally feels at home again.

25.) Contentment: Chirp's shadows and nightmares are gone. After finally finding his family, though realizing he does not care for his father, or for his mother's culture he was happy to have found them. It was nice to know he had family out there even if he preferred to live alone with the wolf named Firefly.

TRIGGER WARNING for hints of slavery/abuse (because it's better to be safe than sorry)

Username: Kaya Wolf Moon

Foal Name: Waki, meaning “shelter” in Native American.

Will the basket come home?: Yes. I think ICly it would be as a young adult.

----------If so, how? If not, why not?: Sooo I may have gotten a bit carried away. Gonna spoiler this just in case.
Waki’s story does not have the happiest of beginnings. Their father abandoned their basket to fend for itself in a world unknown. They popped from the basket, alone and uncertain. What would become of them with no family to call their own? The little foal cried out to any who might hear, desperately seeking the comfort of another. It was not right- this being alone at the start of life. The did not have long to wait for their cries to be answered. From out of the shadows appeared an older mare. The foal had never seen one like her. Then again, they had never seen anything until that night. She carried herself with such poise and dignity as she approached. Her voice soothed the foal’s aching heart. Eventually, the mare asked the little one if they wanted to stay with her. They quickly agreed. Why should they not? Nobody had been around to tell them otherwise. For, if there had been someone there, the foal might have been warned and guarded against the mare. A Skinwalker, the most accursed breed to grace the lands, was plying her trade, recruiting those lost souls to do her bidding. Little did they know that when they agreed to follow her, they were truly giving up their freedom.

Many months passed, with the foal learning its place among the Skinwalker’s domain. A name was given to them, Megedagik, which the mare typically did to assign a job. Unfortunately for Megedagik, they were assigned the task of killing. Any and all whom would transgress against their mistress. The mare had her ways of making Megedagik compliant. Much time and effort was spent in teaching them their allotted trade. Then, one night, a rival Skinwalker stole into the territory in challenge to their “mother.” She fought against the other with a ferocity seldom seen. Ultimately, she came out victorious, though mortally wounded. Megedagik, his year(s) of servitude weighing heavily on him, refused her bid for help. Condemning her instead and feeling no remorse for it. Truthfully, they did not feel anything. No joy, no sadness, no hate, no fear, nothing. Not even the prospect of freedom sparked a flame within them. For it would be just Megedagik. Alone once again. And so they wandered aimlessly, with no regard for the world around them. Their emotions locked tightly away in their heart of hearts.

Time marched ever onward. Megedagik discarded their brand and dubbed themselves “Sky.” Sky attempted to do the normal chores of life. Hunting and gathering, finding shelter. But they had not been taught such things by their former mistress. She had provided all needs. Frustrated, Sky lashed out at the heavens. Cursing the spirits for their lot in life. A rare moment of emotion that soon waned. Their words had not gone unwitnessed. As the foal prepared to leave, a beast attacked them from behind. Sky struggled valiantly, utilizing all the techniques taught to him. Again, her teachings betrayed him, for she had only given him skill enough to kill those weaker than himself. This beast was no weakling. A tingling in their chest blossomed. Sky did not recognize it at first. But then the beast roared and things became clear. The feeling was…fear. Their old nemesis returned from the depths of their psyche. The youngling felt it wash over them, invading every fiber until all they could do was cower and await the final blow. A blow that would never come. At the last second, another Soquili had entered the fray. He forced the beast- one that Sky would later learn was the feral form of another Skinwalker- off of the poor foal and, after a mighty struggle, put an end to its tyranny.

Sky did not know who this newcomer could be. But they knew very certainly what he was. Afraid that he might become this new one’s meal, the foal remained plastered to the ground. Hollow Tzalmon was not interested in making the foal his dinner. He left the youngling with some parting words. His words struck Sky in such a way that they soon found themselves trailing after the charmed Purewalker. Over time, the two grew to accept and acknowledge one another in many ways. Hollow took Sky under his wing, renaming him one final time to Waki, meaning “shelter.” The elder Soquili showed Waki that it was okay to acknowledge their feelings, especially fear. Fear might bring out the worst in others, true, but it also allows us to become stronger. It shows us what we are capable of in the most dire of circumstances. All we need do is acknowledge and accept it. These were the things that Hollow imparted to Waki. While they kept a check on their emotions, they allowed themselves to become a part of the world again.

Fate has an interesting way of circling back over paths that were meant to cross. While journeying through the lands, Hollow and Waki happen upon a certain territory. They do not cross into the restricted lands, but divert around it instead. It is here that Waki where Fate deals its hand. Glain and Shuckles still reside in their abode. The mother hoping one day to enfold her lost foal in a massive hug. The father is ever fearful of the demon spawn attacking him and hurting his loved one. Two strangers approach from the south, skirting the Flock territory. As they draw closer, Glain realizes that one is a Purewalker and acts accordingly. A short scuffle ensues until Waki distracts the harpy with his wit, calming her down enough so that they might explain the situation. All mothers recognize their children in the end. Glain is no different. No sooner had she focused on the young adult than she realized who it was speaking to her. Her child had come home.

And that is where this journey ends. A life that started off in loneliness and despair, flourished under the kindness of another, before finding its way to the family it had always longed for. While Waki’s journey home may have ended, their tale is far from finished. Many adventures and lessons lay stretched before them. The ultimate voyage is only just beginning!

*Edited to add* Room of Angel by Akira Yamaoka played a heavy role for inspiration of the death for "Mother," the Skinwalker.

TRIGGER WARNING Re-Abandonment kinda??

Username: stormflower

Foal Name: Fáelán "little wolf"
Temper: Reclusive & Resolute

Will the basket come home?: Yes as a foal or an adult depending on deepening plots with all parties involved, but leaning more towards foalhood(maybe more pre-teen/teen 'phase')

----------If so, how? If not, why not?:
(Im not very good at coming up with plots for contests so these are rough drafts. Rough basic drafts lol They have lots of room for flexibility and deepening with all parties involved)
A Pawn found/Abandonment:
Lattie has a distaste for males, she is one who currently believes that they are only good to help produce strong female heirs. She has a bad past with stallions and wants as little as possible to do with them. She has yet to find a stallion that meets her standards to give her daughters so when she is traveling and happens upon a basket she sees it as an opportunity. She willed it to be a girl, she just knew she would have her daughter to manipulate, shape , and mold the perfect tool. She traveled a lot so after taking the basket in she would leave it with her raven familiar to care for. When she returned from one of her trips she was horrified to find the basket held a foal, a wretched being. The raven had continued to care for the foal in Lattie's absence instead of riding of the nuisance. She chased the young one off spewing insults, calling him trash and much worse. Convinced he was a mistake or a monster he ran not knowing who he was or how to survive.

Semblance of Family:
The foal ran and never looked back, he ran until he could run no more. He didn’t know how many days past but he was barely able to survive. He had to figure out how to feed himself and it wasn’t always edible. He grew weaker by the day and when a storm hit he was sure he would die. Somehow he found a small cave to take shelter in and as soon as he was safe from the storm passed out from exhaustion not realizing he wasn’t alone. When he awoke the next morning he found his company watching him. It gave a low growl as he stirred, he would come to know this as a wolf. He tried to get away but found he was too weak to stand and it stared in fear. The wolf sensing no danger and just fear left the cave. The foal wanted to cry out not wanting to be alone but couldn’t find his voice. He blacked out yet again as the wolf disappeared into the distance. When he woke again he smelled something odd and upon opening his eyes saw the wolf was back with something that had shiny skin(fish) and some berries on top of a large leaf. He wasn’t sure he could eat it but he tried as the wolf starred him down in encouragement. This was the start of his first semblance of a family

Traveling Sickness:
The foal and wolves bond grew stronger as the days went by, but the foal was wracked by nightmares of the mare who had taken his basket in, her words and anger and hatred towards him haunting him. He decided he needed to leave to try and find where he came from, but didn’t know where to start or how. He resolved to go and the wolf traveled with him, protecting him and leading him the best it could. It was very hard on the young one however, he struggled to approach others and the wolf would do most of the searching, conversing with others like it. Traveling was hard in itself on one so young and he became ill, he wanted to press on but the wolf finally put its paws down. They found a secluded glen to rest in, but the foal was getting worse. The wolf worried for him so it set off to find someone to help before it was too late.

Healing and a name:
The wolf ran as fast as it could looking for anyone that could help. Finally it came upon a pawed mare, Niamh. She could see the distress the wolf was in and assumed it's pups were in trouble and followed it were it led. Niamh was very surprised to find a foal shivering in cold sweat. She wasn’t a healer but knew he didn’t have much time. She took him back to her home where she knew a few healers that could help. The healers treated him and said any later and he wouldn’t have made. Niamh nursed him back to health and he slowly came to trust her and told her as best he could what he had been through. When she asked his name he had none to give so she named both the wolf and him. Lyall for the wolf who had been his shield and to him she gave the name Fáelán, for he was a 'little wolf'. He was strong and honorable with inner strength though he may not recognize it yet. As Faelan got stronger he was resolved even more to find who he was and where he came from. Niamh was worried for him being able to take care of himself after just healing so agreed to travel with them to find his family.

Happy Reunion?:
Faelan, Lyall, and Niamh set off on their journey to find his family. It was a long journey gathering all the information they could. They learned of a group of clawed soquili known as Harpies with clawed feet. They were referred to as 'The Flock', some had said there were some seen associated with the flock or in the surrounding areas that Faelan seemed to resemble. Would they be able to find them? Are they his family, do they miss him? So many questions but what answers will he find? Let's find out! wink

Other: Later on down the road depending on others involved I could see Faelan holding some resentment towards his father, not understanding why he abandoned him and only him. He will struggle with understanding it, but in time he will come to forgive his father and even seek to ease his mind should similar incidents occur. This also I think could lead them having an even stronger bond once Fae reaches adulthood.

I also see Faelan ending up with a crush on Niamh and would seek her out to confess his feelings to her only to see her with her mate(possibly her own foals). He will try to slip away unnoticed but will be spotted by Niamh or one of her children and be inclined to stay for a visit. Though heartbroken I think this could lead him to finding his life/love mate or just his first love. Either way this could lead to him coming more into himself and just 'coming out of his shell' as a whole.
