Back in the princess's chambers, Annette would sit by one of the cushions looking down.
She had just let her guard down. Probably broke her heart.
She felt... guilty. Selfish.
"I love prince Nathaniel... I didn't even knew her feelings... then why does it bother me this much?"
She asked herself, there was a pain within her chest she couldn't describe.
Annette hold a hand against her chest, feeling her heart, dead as always. But she could still feel it's pain.

Azme was about to head to her room, until she heard Annette talk to herself about her new gaurd. So she sighed opened the door"Annette, sweetie, whats the matter?"She asked as she sat down next to her

"M-mother dearest!"
Annette gasped in surprise as Azme appeared before her. She was locked deep within her thoughts that she had no idea the Queen would enter her chambers until her voice would break her daydreaming.
"W-what brings you here?"
Obviously Annette was troubled by this matter, since she couldn't even talk to Azmerelda without stammering.
"I...I did something horrible dear mother. I cannot seem to overcome this pain"
She confessed, her current state was so vulnerable that she didn't even tried to hide it from Azmerelda until a proper time in which she could think her words carefully and then express them without fear.
"Today...I... I just learned someone was in love with me... which... to be honest made me happy dear mother... but.. as you know... my heart, it belongs to prince Nathaniel...I had no choice but to let her down... and knowing I've broken a heart... harvest this pain within my chest..."

Azmerelda smiled at her daughter "I heard you talk to yourself and came to check on you" She said then saw down "If you can answer this question then I will believe your heart truly belongs to him and let the two of you be? Let's say his parents said you had to choose, either your powers or him, what would you do?" She asked her

Annette would pout upon hearing her mother even
"Mother that's not funny at all... you know better than anyone that my powers are yours and only yours, you can't expect me to give them up... even if I love someone... I promised you....after that day..."
Her powers were quite a sensitive topic for Annette since it brought memories from the past, some were welcomed as Azmerelda's unconditional love, but others... haunted the princes up to this day even in her dreams.

Azmerelda looked at her daughter"then what you have is not love, but mere infatuation. When it is love, you would do and give anything just for him."She said as she sighed"Tell me what do you know about him anyway. For surely you have spent many a night with him correct?"She asked

"but dear mother... can't you see he's dreamy? Or the many good he could do for out kingdom? Isn't that a perfect match? does this not mean anything to you?"
But in the end, mother's words were absolute as their weight would slowly crushed Annette's Illusions of a future with her prince.
"Infatuation.... such a foolish and spoiled girl"
She thought of herself as she said no more. Hidding her face against mother's shoulder. Shattering her heart with every second that passed.

Azmerelda sighed as she looked and held her daughter "Appearance will only get you so far. Also it is not a good enough reason for the council to let their Crown Princess marry him." She said emphasising the crown portion of her statement "The good, what good can a prince who gleefully gave up the stats of crown be to our kingdom?" She asked her "Do not worry my child, you are still young and have your whole life ahead of you, you will find someone who will your heart as well as the heart of our people." She said "However if you truly love him, there is one way you won;t have to worry about the council" She said sighing hoping she wont ask

Azmerelda looked at her with sad eyes. why did you have to ask that?" She thought to herself "If you give your status as crowned to the eldest of your unborn siblings when the time comes, the council will no longer have a reason to monitor or care about who you are with." She said sadly with tears rolling down her eyes

"wouldn't that be g..."
she exclaimed with excitement before looking at her mother's face. She didn't quite understood it. Why? Why did she had to be the princess if there was probably better heirs on their way? She could be freed from her status at last and mother wouldn't had to worry about her decision, but it was something that broke her heart every time, was looking at the tears in mothers eyes. The pain however it was different.
This pain, made the princess smile. Act calm, even when she was burning herself alive while on the inside.
"... wouldn't that be terrible mother? what kind of daughter would i be if i were to reject my own blood?"
She would hold Azme's face between her hands, wiping her tears with her thumbs. She couldn't stand seeing her tears if they were not for joy.
Leaning forward, she would plant her lips against mother dearest's forehead.
"I would not let that happen, dear mother. So don't cry anymore, it doesn't suit you."

Azmerelda smiled "Such a wonderful daughter I have raised"[/b ]She said hugging her back "You are my firstborn, the title rightful belongs to you, no one else." She said "You probably did have strong feelings for the prince, and I'm being selfish, Make your own choices, my child. Don't live for me, live for yourself" She said as she sighed.

She replied as she stroked Azme's cheek with tenderness, it broke her heart to give up on prince Nathaniel, but it crushed her very soul to see her beloved mother cry. She simply couldn't stand it.

Azmerelda looked at her "My child, don't do this becaues of me, do this because this is what you truly want. Although i want you to rule the kingdom when i am deceased, I also want you to be happy. So if this prince makes you happy, then go be with him."She said with a smile no longer crying
