Personality:
Hard-working: Getting that perfect flower or that perfect color on a fruit takes a lot of work to get just right. Some might give up when the going gets tough, but Ila does not shy away from hard work. Instead she embraces it, finds comfort in putting a full day’s work and coming home to drop dead on her bed. She loves her work and working with the Earth, so why would she just be lazy about it? If Ila sees someone lazy she will try and give them a pep talk, if that doesn’t work she will most likely avoid them forever.

Creative: Ila wouldn`t be a very good breeder if she wasn`t imaginative! Since her mind is always at work, her creativity and imagination are boundless. She is always trying to process all the different combinations and her imagination takes her into strange places that most wouldn't think of. This makes her quite resourceful in any situation, particularly stressful ones since she can easily come up with a plan for the problem at hand. Knowing that her mind tends to flit around a lot, Ila carries a small notepad where she either draws or keeps notes of whatever idea she might have in the moment.

Open-minded: Without ideas and opening your mind, how can you possibly start imagining the millions of possibilities! Ila stands by this. She is always willing to try new things and rarely says no. She also does not believe she is a know it all and that helps her learn from those around her and those who are different and might have a different view than her own. Her opinion on things can change when confronted by sound logical arguments; she is very flexible in her views. However, just because her mind is always changing doesn't mean it will change at a pinch, the arguments presented must make sense to her.

Impractical: Sometimes, Ila is seen as way too out there in her creativity, she forgets to be practical. She’ll take the long route instead of the short cut. She’ll test something many times, more so than needed, just to make sure it’s perfect. Sometimes she gets so caught up in her work and won’t leave it that she’ll neglect eating and drinking so she can get that one thing done. If she tells you to meet her somewhere, she'll most likely get wrapped up in a project and completely forget about the time and consequently the person. You certainly don’t want to see the mess she’s in once she comes out of her home after a particularly challenging project.

Private: Being so self-conscious, Ila is rather reserved to avoid getting hurt. She is an extremely private person, she does not share much about herself if anything at all. She is afraid that someone might judge her. This inability to share information about herself makes her unable to relate to others by sharing her experiences. If a subject is brought up, she simply won`t say anything even if she knows something pertinent about it. Some have even called her cold because getting to know her is extremely difficult and even when you think you know Ila, you will probably never know all of her.

Sensitive: Ila takes things personally. Really personally. She doesn’t see it as help or constructive criticism or even inspiration to make something better. No, if someone dares comment on either her work, which is an extra sensitive subject, or even on her, she’ll become very closed off and see it as her being a completely failure at everything in life. People have to be careful with what they say because sometimes as much as she tries to hide it she will tear up. Direct insults are the worst and she will shut down for a few days and cry it out by herself.

H I S T O R Y

Ila is the middle child in a family of three, she is also the only one who had difficulties in school. Checking soil for nutrients, balancing them out, knowing what is a weed and what isn't just didn't do it for her. She was good with anything hands on, but outside of that she wasn’t very good and as she got older she started hating the criticism she received. Her parents and siblings on the other hand all excelled in their own way, her parent’s in the agriculture sector and siblings on their way to excelling at top of their class. She considered herself the black sheep of the family even if it was never out right spoken.

That all changed when Ila began harvesting an interest in plant breeding after a class given by one of her teachers. Particularly, she was interested in making plants sturdier, or changing their colors. She’s been studying cultivar as well as horticulture and slowly carving herself a place in the family. She’s made a few friends, or a few people she likes to see once in a while, with others in the agriculture sector since her field of study is quite small. She was not particularly interested in traveling, but would like to get some plant samples from the where the foreigners come from and see what she can come up with. Right now her plant breeding skills are about midway to intermiedate, she still sees it as a hobby but is beginning to take it more seriously.
