Role Claim!
If anyone wants to know, this is a list of positions needed, links are provided.
** A "Retainer" Is a servant that acts as both a personal attendant and a bodygaurd to one specific member of the royal family.
- For those that are signing up to be retainers please make sure you are aware of the role of these positions. A retainer is a personal guard designed to serve only their charge. Unless the prince or princess says otherwise, the retainer is basically a shadow to the person they are guarding.
- They may not leave their charge unless emergency protocols are required. It is literally their job to babysit, guard, advise, and otherwise serve their charge.
- The job requires just as much training as a guard position, if not more. The prince or princess chooses their retainers. This means you should talk to both me, and the person playing the royal you intend to serve BEFORE posting your character. They may not be approved otherwise. (Messaging me also ensures that the spot is reserved until your character is approved. I can also contact Beauty and help you "fine tune" the character to meet all of these requirements. This helps the approval process go faster and less painful.) **

Shifter Packs
Alpha: The alpha of the pack is the leader. He/She is the main one in control and sets the laws of their pack. They are not required to hunt with the pack, but most normally do. They demand respect and are in the position to exile or even kill those who do not show it. Though it is rare, this position can be challenged and if the challenger wins the fight then the challenger, being the new alpha, can do what he/she pleases with the previous leaders. This does not normally happen because it would result in a huge change within the pack. If the alpha has a mate, then the mate is recognized as a secondary alpha and is given the same power as the main alpha.
Beta: The beta is the second-in-command and enforces the law when the current alpha is not present. Major decisions passed by the beta while the alpha is away are temporary unless the alpha says otherwise upon their return. If the beta is mated, the beta's partner is recognized as a secondary beta. In cases of a mated alpha, betas still act as second-in-command, but only if both alphas are absent. The position of beta can be challenged at any time, but only with the alpha's approval.
Sentinel: There are two sentinels in the pack. Each sentinel is specially chosen by the main alpha and main beta. The alpha and beta train the sentinels to take their places if anything should happen to them, effectively becoming the alpha and beta's apprentices. The sentinels, since becoming one can start as early as ten years, don't usually have authority over the pack unless the alpha or beta have publicly given it to them. They are respected, though. Messing with a sentinel is equal to messing with the alpha and beta themselves. This rank cannot be challenged whatsoever.
Elders: The elder members of the pack are, obviously, the oldest members. They are filled with wisdom and renowned strength. They are the ones that the alpha normally goes to for advice. If they are wise, the elders are the only ones to whom the alpha may submit themselves to. They are respected as much as the alpha by the entire pack. An elder's death is often treated the same as an alpha's.
Warriors: The amount of warriors depends on the size of the pack. For a small pack there can be up to 5 and for a much larger pack there can be up 15. They are the guardians and protectors of the pack. The warriors will roam the pack lands ensuring it's safety. They are the ones that will keep watch at night. The warriors must be quick to think and remain calm in any given situation.
-Lead Warrior: The lead warrior takes his/her orders directly from the alpha, or the beta if the alpha is unavailable. They are the main leader, general, or captain of the warriors in the pack. There is only one.
Scouts: A scout's role is to serve alongside the warriors in surveying the territory, though they do also act as hunters for the pack as well at times. They are the beta's own personal unit to command and the alpha rarely interferes unless he/she feels there is something to be concerned about. There should always be more scouts than there are warriors.
Sitters: These are the babysitters of the pack. They are in charge of taking care of the young in times of distress, such as when the pack is attacked. Don't be fooled into thinking that they are weak and soft. On the contrary, sitters are often the most vicious members of the pack; though, they tend to be docile until provoked. They only watch young up until the age of ten years, as the young often begin their training at this age. There are only three sitters in a pack regardless of the size. When sitters are not needed, they work as warriors.
Subordinates: In a shifter pack, a "subordinate" is the same as a citizen in a human society. They're the ones that don't have any official positions, though every member of the pack fights and hunts. Subordinates often help by preparing the food brought back by hunters and scouts, or acting as nursery hands for infants and toddlers during peaceful times.
Omegas: The omegas are the lowest of low in the pack, lower than the subordinates. Don't be surprised if they don't receive much respect; if any at all. They are only placed in this position if they've done anything to disrespect the alpha, but haven't done anything worthy of exile or death. Sometimes a new member may be placed with this rank if the alpha is a bit mistrustful of them.
