When it counts, Evanora proves to be a very deadly person. Her intelligence combined with her witchcraft means she could turn into a dangerous weapon at any moment. Evanora, though her true loyalty lies with Saadeth, has an unwavering sense of loyalty for the Ignius Aēsmian royal family. This loyalty is the result of deep gratitude for the royal family and she does anything she can to aid both them and the country of Ignius Aēsma.
Other: The Nyx family is a cursed one that has a long history it shares closely with the royal Covington bloodline. For nearly three hundred years, the women of the Nyx family have served the royal family as their Royal Wizard, concocting potions to cure their illnesses or using spells to heal their injuries; anything the royal family needs, the Royal Wizard will do her best to provide it. The power of witchcraft is a Nyx family secret, passed down from mother to daughter, and when one Royal Wizard dies, the next steps up to fill her shoes. But, this is all a hoax to fool the public. While the history books tell of a proud bloodline that is cursed to carry the face of the ancestor that betrayed Thalassia and its gods to serve Ignius Aēsma, the royal family knows that there has only ever been one Royal Wizard that has lived by many names; hence why the Royal Wizard is usually just called Nyx.
The story of Evanora goes back three hundred years, when she was born to the Thalassian royal family. Instead of a life of luxury, however, she lived a life of tragedy; and, all because she couldn't use magic. Back then, being born with no magic was treated with far worse than social shunning, even if you were born to the royal family. Evanora was abused and horribly mistreated by her family and people, treated more as a slave than a person. Her only comfort was her older brother, the crown prince at the time. The prince loved her unconditionally and did whatever he possibly could to protect her from the abuse. Shunned by her people, Evanora would pray daily to Takumi and Lynn for their blessing so she could live a normal life and escape her misfortune; but, it wasn't Takumi or Lynn that answered her. Instead, her prayers had reached the ears of a god from a time forgotten that goes by Saadeth. Saadeth offered to give her magic in exchange for something in return, but what Saadeth demanded was the life of the one whose love for her was true. So desperate to be the girl her parents had wanted her to be, the magically inept princess sacrificed the life of her brother in order to gain the god's blessing. But, the magic he granted wasn't that of Thalassia and they called her an unholy creature before imprisoning her; both for murdering her brother and for wielding magic that was unknown. She was twenty when she was imprisoned and for five years, she was locked away. Evanora managed to escape using her magic, but she didn't leave without making her hatred known. As she fled the city of Varuna, she cursed all who would be born in the position she should have had.
After leaving the capital, Evanora traveled. She spent ten years on the road, learning how to properly use the power she had been given, but it wasn't easy when everyone in the kingdom knew her face. With nowhere to go, Evanora fled Thalassia and eventually ended up in the care of the people that lived in Ignacia. They'd taken pity on the exhausted and broken girl despite being enemies with her homeland. To return their kindness, Evanora brewed potions to heal their sick children and help their elderly with their aching joints and muscles. Word of her strange magic reached the ears of the Ignius Aēsmian royal family and after demonstrating her power to them, they took her in; thus the position and title of Royal Wizard was born. This has been her life for nearly three hundred years, and Evanora is happy with it. She has a home within the borders of Ignius Aēsma and she will do all she can to help its people.
