__________ W H A N __________

Character Name: Whan
Gender: Male
Clan: --
Class: Warrior

Personality:
-- Obedient: Whan is a very obedient individual. He does free think, but it's just easier if he has some guidance or direction. He doesn't follow every order given to him, just those by those leading his group or that actually know what they're talking about. If they're a lower rank than him or equal rank trying to boss him around, he gives a look of disdain and ignores them. He doesn't have time for wanna-be-leaders.

-- Inquisitive: Questions will come along with quiet observations. He is very curious about the world, about exploring every aspect of it that fascinates him. Different types of magics, why someone has chosen their class. He wants to know why some stones are harder to break than others, what makes a valuable gem and what makes those gems more valuable than others.

-- Soft spoken: Any time he questions his voice is soft. He doesn't like being loud, or being around loud people because it just makes him uncomfortable. Yelling isn't necessary in a lot of situations, so he talks quietly in hopes others will pick it up. He only yells when absolutely necessary and most of the time his voice ends up hurting afterwards.

-- Second guessing: Despite his inquisitive nature, Whan is really a very unsure boy. Most of the time he isn't sure about a lot of things, especially things he's just learned, such as someone's name, or a new town. He's really bad at second guessing his own direction. Most of the time he has a good gut instinct, but his second guessing nature happens, and that's when things go wrong.

-- Clumsy: He tries his best, but he ends up tripping over words, his own feet, and any task that requires a delicate touch. He isn't the most delicate Orderite in the world. It gets him in trouble when it comes to times when he needs to be stealthy. He can be quiet, but he trips a lot, or missteps and hurts himself and blows his cover. It also means that talking with others can be a bit of a hassle as he stumbles over his own tongue.

-- Moody: Whan is a moody boy because of his own clumsiness and over all awkwardness. If he's with friends who understand and don't point out his flaws he's actually nice to be around, but most of the time he's an easily flustered person. When he's flustered, Whan can go from embarrassed to angry in the blink of an eye. Or he'll try to hide himself within his own wings or just walk away. Very rarely does he lash out with words. If he does end up hurting feelings, he'll go back and apologize once he's calmed down.

Thoughts on the Great Engagement:
The Great Engagement didn't set out to do what it should have. The Oblivionites are still terrorizing the world. All in all, Whan thinks it was better on paper, and it's lasted too long. The tipping point should be happening soon.

Thoughts on the Magescian Races:
Orderites: As an Orderite himself, Whan is very biased towards his own race. Most of them are good hearted and natured, but they are composed of a variety of individuals. So over all, it's a very, very good race.

Oblivionites: As a whole race, he doesn't like them. They are cruel and cause nothing but pain and destruction for everything they touch. However, doesn't want to judge individuals. Of course, this doesn't happen. He automatically has reservations when it comes to trying to meet one of these individuals.

Dovaa: This is a good race, again. They're fairly quiet, from what he knows So far, he hasn't met any of them, but he would like to, and ask them a lot of questions about where they live and see how their magic differs from his own.

Hybrids: The hybrids fascinate him to no end. He wants to learn about them the absolute most. He wants to see which parent they take after, how their magic, agility, strength, and smarts come into play. He has so little information on them!

Thoughts on the Dragons and Khehora:
Bonded Khehora offer endless amounts of answers and even more questions. He is absolutely head over heels with them and wants to spend most of his days with just them, learning from them and watching them. He is like a little goopey puddle of Whan around them. Much like a kid with a pet, even though they are not his own.

Wild Khehora scare him, but only because he doesn't understand them. He doesn't know if they're going to act the same or be more like dragons. Seeing them in the wild, watching and observing him will help, if he gets to be that lucky.

Dragons... he wants to see if he can tame one or two. He probably will never be able to, as he's just going to run away from them if he sees them, but he does want to examine the orbs and figure out how they work.

Family:
Mother: Sarang
Father: Iseul

His family wasn't wealthy or powerful when he was born. They were very humble and lived very humbly. Neither his mother or father were fighters. His mother is a seamstress and his father works as a thatcher. They live in a small village on the outskirts of Ashen City.

They worked together to raise him. They never limited him. If he wanted to learn how to sew, his mother taught him and his father taught him fishing, fixing roofs. He learned from neighbors many different things, like how to cook and clean. His whole community was open to this curious boy when he was a toddler, getting into books. They helped him expand his knowledge of the world and his love of books.

For his birthday, his mother and father take him into Ashen city to purchase something, and it's almost always a book. One time it was a map, and another time it was a small pillow that helped him prop himself up on the floor so he could read more. He doesn't buy toys like normal children. He's a little more practical.

He still lives on Serenia but doesn't usually wander too far from his family. He might spend a day or two at a neighbors house, but he always misses his mother and father. He runs back to them with open arms and a happy smile. Often times he's trying to teach them what they learn, and they humor him. They are never not surprised by Whan.

.:. Thoughts on Just passing through .:.

"I met Xen and honestly she's sort of scary.. I think she got into trouble with the law or something? She needed clothes and she's really serious. I don't know if I trust her too well. I mean she did say we would both be in trouble at one point, so maybe she's a bad person?"

.:. Thoughts on Two Birds and One Stone .:.

"Honestly, at first, I was terrified because it looked like it was going to rain for days and I know flooding isn't good. Then I met someone named Malik. He... He's very.. big and intimidating. While I was talking to him, dragons attacked and he raced off to go fight them! I followed, and boy oh boy... Did I regret it when I saw the first dragon!

However, though... It ended up good. I grabbed two dragon souls! I also... he said he'd teach me some things in lessons. I might ask if I can go to a weapon smith and figure out what kind of weapon I want to use.

There's so much to do and learn, and.. I'm still scared, but I have to get over it!"

.:. Solo RP: Stepping Stone .:.

Whan was too excited to sleep! It was early, early morning in the city and the hustle and bustle of it was only just beginning. Still, one Orderite boy found himself trying to wake up his parents without being obvious about it. They were going to send him to the weapon smith to pick a weapon. He'd told them about the dragons, about Malik, how he was going to help Whan become the Battler he wanted to be. He told them, in order to do that, he needed his own weapon.

Naturally the boy didn't know what he wanted in a weapon yet. He was thinking maybe a couple of daggers. Then again, maybe some kind of amazing battleaxe! Did they make them for children his size? Probably not, but he wanted one anyway. He was stronger than he looked!

Letting his wings ruffle and twitch as he moved around the kitchen, making his own breakfast like he learned how to do from his mom so she could get at least a couple more house of sleep, Whan deliberately put pots and pans down a little too hard. Maybe, just maybe, his dad would wake up up and just give him what currency he needed to buy himself something really nice.

“Maybe I should have asked how I know what to buy,” he whispered to himself, lighting the flame to heat up a pan. His wings twitched as he climbed on a step stool to see over the edge of the pan and threw his breakfast in it. Just a typical breakfast, nothing fancy, but very, very filling.

So far his plan wasn't working. He sighed hard at that and just grumbled under his breath.

It was still several hours before his dad padded out of bed and shuffled to the kitchen for something to drink. Whan's food had been consumed and the dishes and clean up already done. He was taught really well not to leave a mess after you cook. It makes it difficult to wash later on if you just let it sit, after all.

“Dad, you sai--”

“I know what today is, Whan,” he said with a hard sigh. He just wanted to wake up enough for a cohesive conversation with his son about weapons. No, he wasn't a battler, but was going to do his best to make sure Whan knew the path he chose was and how dangerous it was, honestly. He was just hoping his son would have picked something other than a battler. He sighed slowly as he sipped at his water and watched his son bounce around and practically vibrate.

“Dad! Daylight is wasting away!” Whan whined hard, frowning and shaking his head. He moved over to take hold of his dad's arm, hugging it to his jest, tugging. “Come with me! Come on, help me!”

“I hope you know,” Iseul started, “that this is a very serious thing you picked. A very serious path. Being a Battler means you could die out there. You'll get hurt, scared… Scared, probably.. attacked. You.. need to pick something that will end up doing a good job protecting you and that's something your size. It's not going to be easy. I've lost several friends over the years to the Battler path and...” Iseul paused and swallowed hard. “I don't want to lose you.”

The pale boy had stopped his bustling once he heard his father's serious tone. He listened, took this completely seriously and then his wings drooped.

Yes, he knew he'd be fighting but… Now he wasn't quite as excited.

“I'll be okay,” he murmured, swallowed hard, and then offered up a smile. “You'll see me all the time. I'll come home a lot! You know, when I finally am big enough to leave...” He hugged his dad's waist now, mashing his face into his side and just huffed slowly, wings half curling around both of them. “I'll be okay! You'll see.”

Iseul just gave him a serious look and nodded. After moving away, he wandered to the cabinet where he kept his wallet and handed it to Whan. “Don't spend too much, but get something good. You'll have to do this on your own.”

With a quick kiss, Whan was out the door before his dad could change his mind.

.:. Solo RP: A Little Brighter .:.

Getting to the weapon smiths was easy. Whan actually stood outside of it to look at the new weapons that weren't custom orders that he did. Just looking at them, knowing today was the day he was finally buying one of his own… His little heart fluttered and he shifted a little more, wings twitching again before laughing to himself. They were shiny, well polished, in an array of different colors.

“How am I going to chose?” he asked himself. He really, really should have asked Malik. A hand gripped at his hair that was done in his long ponytail and fiddled with it, the little bands that held it together.

Maybe he'd just know. Like a feeling. Working his jaw a little, he stepped into the heated place and took a breath of the coals and fires and oils. He heard the hammering of heated metals, watched the sparks fly and just giggled again. He wasn't going back to the forges, oh, no. He was out front looking at the finished pieces and just let his eyes look over every single one.

“What do you think you're doing in here?” A big, booming voice asked.

Whan yelped hard and turned on his heels to stare up, and up at the tall, lumbering weapon smith. He was all hard muscle and grisly looking features. Why was every weapon smith so intimidating like this? Whan mentally whined while offering up a little grunt and a shrug. “I'm going to buy a weapon. I'm finally going to start training to be a battler. ...Do you have any ...tips on how to pick something?”

The weapon smith just snorted a little more and he eyed the little kid.

“You're parents are really letting you pick a real weapon?”

“Yes! I've got someone training me. I'm going to be a battler!” He puffed up like an angry bird and just glared even harder at the other.

The way the boy stood up to him impressed him, honestly. He sized the boy up and then pointed in the direction of some small to medium sized weapons. With that, he walked away again, back to the back to get started on something else.

Whan looked the direction pointed and moved closer, tilting his head this way and that before sighing and looking things over. There were daggers, short swords, slender swords.

His dark eyes caught sight of a battleaxe that seemed to shine a little differently than the rest of them. Slowly he reached out with his fingers and a little smile on his lips. The moment he touched the blade leather wrapped hilt of the battleaxe, he felt something pool under his skin, making him shiver and stare in awe.

A whisper hit his mind as he continued to touch the axe and slowly he pulled it down and felt the weight. It was heavy, almost unbelievably so, but he could actually hold it. This was it. This was his.

“Mister! I found it!” Whan laughed and turned to the weapon smith who was once more coming back from the forges, even more soot covering him. “This is it. This is mine.”

“You're sure?” The gruff voice asked, looking the boy over. The axe seemed a bit too big for him. But there was an undeniable look in his eyes. “Okay. Come with me.”

And he bought his axe for a hefty sum. The world seemed less scary like this.

.:. Thoughts on An axe to grind .:.

"I finally get my axe and I have to practice with a sword?! Malik that makes no sense. I don't think I'm going to like practicing and building muscle strength if I can't use my axe. Still.. I suppose it does make sense? Malik knows what he's talking about. Well, it shouldn't be as bad as I think it is."
