Kadryn, now that her boys were out and about and living thier own lives, decided to finally answer the request that had come from Lady Avi and the school.... To help the young ones on a hunt! After the scares with he Mara, the leaders were apparently a bit more gung ho in getting actual hands on lessons under watchful eyes of professional fighters rather than letting children learn in the classroom and find their own mentors or going about hunting on their own. Kadryn was not entirely sure how well this would turn out... neither of her sons had actually come to her for lessons in fighting...Kirosh had been more able at that task! Well, maybe they'll give me some little wanna be barbarians, she thought with amusement as she furled her wings to coast down towards the huge city below her. Not sure how well I can teach anyone else! Considering I normally just... wade right in.

Whan was still only a child, very young and thoughtless in his actions as well as clumsy. So paying attention in class wasn't something he did very well. Especially when it came to hunting. For some reason it just didn't pull his attention. He would much rather sit and eat, honestly. Still, he knew in order to be a warrior like he wants, he has to do this and pay attention somewhat. Today they were out getting hunting lessons with someone new and he honestly was terrified about it. Whan felt himself far too clumsy to do anything besides stand and watch. So he pulled his wings tightly to his back and just waited to see what was going to happen.

Saint Sergio OTL robo is bad robo.... but here's a tag for you! Kadryn landed on the parapet of one of the Academy's walls, asked the amused gaurd nearby for directions and headed off to meet her charge! She had only ever been to Aveah's office here... so the large building with its many rooms and corridors were a maze to her... ending in her getting lost of course. I am definitely not telling Kirosh I got lost in my people's academy, she thought wryly, I'd never hear the end of it! After wandering about until she found someone to ask directions for, she eventually made it to the meeting spot she'd been told to go to. Late of course but not too much... she hoped. Awaiting her was a young boy wearing some heavy gear and had darker wings than normal.. not that she could talk considering her grey wings had darkened in over the years! "Ah! I take it you are to be my charge today?" She said cheerfully with a large grin. " 'Plogies for the lateness~ I'm Kadryn." Hearing her voice, Chu Lin, her companion who'd been sleeping in her bag, stirred nad poked his head out to peer over her shoulder at the boy. Lil thing looks terrified. His mental voice sounded amused to Kadryn.

Just when Whan thought his teacher wouldn't show up to day, poof! Here she was. He mentally groaned and then just gave her a little, nervous smile and let his wings shuffle slowly. Dang, he'd been so close to having the day free! Oh well. He had to learn to do this some time, didn't he? "I'm your charge, yes ma'am," he said, in what he hoped was a prideful voice. Mama said you can trick yourself into believing you're happy, so why not trick yourself into thinking you're not scared? "I'm Whan." He gave her a slow bow and then brought his hands to his front, fiddling with his garb. "What are we doing today, teacher?"

Saint Sergio shhhh no tis not been like 6 months since I tagged! "Nice to meet you Whan." Kadryn gave him a smile. "I was gonna toss you out into the wilderness and see how you dealt with finding and tracking dragons... and maybe fighting if you feel up to it. Does that sound good or would you rather stay here and I spar with you and help with fighting techniques." She was fine with either: there was no danger of her going berserk against a little kid! Only things that were a challenge caused that issue to occur! She wasn't even sure where her charge was in training. Did he know how to fight? Had he chosen a weapon? How confident was he on fighting?

"N-no! Why would... why would that be good?" He whined openly and then just rubbed his face before giving her a little snort. "..Sparing would work, but I don't.. want.. to deal with dragons right yet," he whispered. Of course he was whispering, it was unusual for him not to want to deal with dragons, wasn't it? The others Whan new wanted to go out and track them and what not. "Sparing... that's like fake fighting?

Kadryn eyed the boy... He didn't want to go after dragons? How was he supposed to learn if he didn't try? Guess all were not as eager as myself... "Well, even if we do run into a dragon, I can fight it off if not kill it so there's no risk really." She said patiently. "But it would give you experience in what to look for when in the wilderness. Traces of if a dragon has passed by recently, practice in encountering them... And maybe some battle experience. But if you really do not wish to. I am fine with sparring." She smiled Fake fighting? Ha! That's called dancing... "Sparring is more than fake fighting. You fight for real.. just with wooden weapons usually so you don't kill your opponent or wound them badly. You need to treat it like a real fight, so that when you are fighting for real.. it comes instinctively and your muscles respond in time." If he was so nervous about dragons... perhaps sparring was the way to go... "Which would you prefer? Go tracking dragons or sparring me?" Maybe if she phrased it right...

Whan toyed with his hand a little more and just bit down on his bottom lip as she talked, the tips of his ears twitching lightly. No, he wanted nothing to do with fighting dragons. They were big and he was young. Whan huffed a little and then listened to her explanation of sparing and nodded lightly. Wood weapons? Bruises, but you wouldn't die! So that sounded good. But sparing her sounded bad. The pale boy let his dark wings twitched and he just offered her a little smile before answering, "Sparring?" Though he stated it like a question, the boy relaxed visibly for a moment, his wings and shoulders drooped and he just let out a little giggle afterwards. What would they be fighting with? He was excited now. Just a little bit. Would he be giving a wooden sword? Would he get a staff? These were the hard hitting questions. "...What kind of weapons do you use to spar, besides woods? Swords, axes? I ...I've been staring at battleaxes for a long time at the weapon smith's," he admitted a little sheepishly. Slowly Whan seemed to be relaxing even more, opening up and blossoming right before the other's eyes.
