Vivaco City is the current capital and the largest city in the Grotto Region. It's also the region's premier shipping port for goods and services. The city's size is due in part to its location, and also being the only Port City with a connection to the region's train lines that run between the region's three other major cities (though Queenscrown City in East Grotto isn't far behind on construction of its own port).
Vivaco City historically has been the site of many battles for control over the regions two halves. In ancient times, it made for the perfect launching platform for warships sailing within the region's center sea. This gave whoever held control of the waterway the ability to strike anywhere within the region's center core in a matter of days, if not hours. When East and West Grotto ended its civil war, the city was mutually chosen to fall into joint control to prevent a recurrence of the war.
However, with the rise of Team Cripthos and its influence within East Grotto, concerns are being raised that the region may one day soon be divided by the ideals of native control versus allied control over the region.

What an exciting day. First she found a perfectly feasible way to fine Jello to tree bark but now she was shipping out the first of her ultra-customized pokemon adventuring gear. This of course was designed more for style but it was made with processed rattata fur and pidgy feathers converted into a silky fabric similar to those of spider types but cheaper, more abundant naturally, and didn't require as much of an ecological footprint to make! The only hard part was gathering the materials, she'd need a pokemon breeder for a regular supply.
It seemed this person who ordered was probably Yukie as well. She was the one Sakiko had gotten the idea to get into poke-adventure fashion from afterall so it wasn't so shocking she happened to attract that kind of business.. she wished she'd checked the location the were meeting at sooner though, this was so far out! But whatever, it was time to do some adventuring again. She could give Yukie her share of the profits while she was here as well.
VHROOSH! A massive cloud of smoke could be seen in the distance as a nitro powered, trick-roomed nosepass wearing giant lab biking goggles sped down the road with someone on its head. "Don't push yourself too hard, remember that tiredness will feel a bit different during trick room nosepass.. That appears to be our destination" she'd say to it in a casual and calm tone as a signpost sped by her at something like 30 miles per hour.

He still couldn't believe he'd been deceived like he had for so long. Perhaps a broken heart simple needed time to heal but he was still begrudging of the whole ordeal in the extreme and for good reason.
He had no desire to challenge this regions leagues gym leaders or announce himself as still alive to his family. A explosion at the hands of a pokemon less then a year into his journey had taken his sight in the left eye as well as nearly crippled his left leg and shoulder. He walked now with a pronounced limp and an eye patch to hide both the useless milky white orb and the scare and allowed his hair to grow longer to mask the eye patch itself.
Thankfully he wasn't camped but a mile off the road and maybe 3 miles from the near by store he frequented and his pokemon assisted in whatever way they could. Plaation his Metagross, after evolving had become his armored thrown allowing him to ride it where ever he wanted to go but more often then not he walked. Sometimes though he wished he could just fly. "Hay, are you the hermit of the woods. Heard some story's about you, they say your a steel type trainer, and strong one at that ,that true?" Ohmarow groaned shifting his weight on the cane to better judge the person before him. He was young. Maybe sixteen or so. He clearly wasn't very experienced as a trainer but he also wasn't some punk looking for a fight with someone he couldn't hold his ground against. "They say your pokemon are near unmatched i wanna see that for myself so let go. Lets battle." No one he had with him was equipted to figh this sort of opponent directly so he'd have to fight if off indirectly."Fine lts see what your capable of." Ohmarow starter off with his Ferrothorn "Go Volwa'gor, The Iron Wall Stand firm and batter back this foe" The boy grinned, he already knew he had the upper hand but Ohmarow hadn't picked this pokemon in the hopes of a divisive victory but rather it would lose the battle so he could win the war.

The distance between the two cities was a short one, thankfully, but it still took a while on foot. Ashleigh was pleased that her Pokémon were around her to keep her company. The three seemed to be getting along famously, which pleased the girl; she was worried at first that Taillow and Rotom wouldn't be as open to a friendship with her Squirtle, seeing as it didn't spend most of its time in Professor Elm's lab. However, any fears that Ashleigh had of her Pokémon not getting along were quickly dismissed.
Before entering the city, Ashleigh decided to explore the forest. She didn't have much money on her, and she wanted to utilize berries as much as she could, as they were easy enough to obtain through simple forest exploration. She left the trail, certain she could find it later, and made her way on foot through the trees. She couldn't find anything (what few berries there were looked underripe), but she did overhear a battle.
Should I go watch? Ashleigh thought. She heard the clash of attacks and a pair of voices commanding their Pokémon and made her way towards them. She heard one of the voices, the younger-sounding one, say goodbye, and as she rounded a tree, she saw a man with dark brown hair, a black jacket covering a white shirt, and an eyepatch. He was rubbing his left knee and grimacing. He didn't look especially threatening, especially if his leg hurt. Ashleigh stood a few feet away. "Excuse me," she said. "Are you hurt? Do you need help?"

► Ohmarow watched as the younger male trainer departed grateful to have the battle over and done with. He was already suffering his own poor judgment call in not simply riding his Metagross like he normally would have when the boy stopped him for the battle. Forced to stand for that extended period of time had unfortunately caused the tendons and muscles to become over worked. He'd be lucky to make it back to camp on foot before night fall if he continued on foot. He'd need to work through the pain and hurry up.
Ohmarow was to busy tending to his newly forming foul mood and the tender spot on either side of his knee cap where the bones meet to notice the girl approaching from the rear. He was just about to stand up right when he heard her voice calling out. Ohmarow flinched and gasped as the girl scared him half to death due to being so unexpected. Turning around to look back using the Steelix cane as third leg to a tripod stance. At first he didn't notice her but motion eventually gave her away.
A girl, not much younger then himself stood half hidden behind a tree. A few pokemon gathered around her all attempting to "hide" behind their trainer as he assumed she must have been. Ohmarow noted her skin tone first then her attire. She was clearly mixed race with a pretty skin tune, not nearly as common a sight in the Johto.
Clothing and body language could him more then much of what a person could say about themselves but he always like to take his perception of a person with a grain of salt. He could tell just from her eyes she was probably more intelligent then he was but he'd learned things the hard way, she clearly had not. "Im fine. Iv a bad leg is all." Ohmarow remarked patting his leg trying to hide his foul mood. This girl didn't deserve his bad attitude as a reward for her concern.
That was it, the leg finally gave out from under him and in a flash Ohmarow was sat in the dirt. The leg, since the second time being damaged had become much weaker then before and pron to simply not being able to hold up his weight. He'd become accustom to being on the ground from time to time because of that and didn't think much of it anymore. It was apart of daily life now. He'd need to ride Plaation from here on out.

The tree's blocked out the bulk of the view from his position on the ground but a few dark grey ones where just edging into view. He'd suspected a storm was coming either late into the night or early morning the next day but it looked like they might give a light sprinkle sooner then he'd originally expected. just another reason to get back on the move he thought as he looked back to the moca colored girl.

Ohmarow grunted out as he used the cane with a the steelix head who's mouth wrapped around a brightly colored mega stone for the support he needed to force himself back up. "Most people who come this far off the main road are challengers. Names Ohmarow, and you are.?" Ohmarow inquired feeling a little more at ease with not having to worry about defending his "title" as the strongest trainer around. it wasn't a self imposed title but more something he'd earned unwillingly.

Volwa'gor needed healing but he had medical items he could use if he wasn't already headed for the local shop where he could heal up as well. Ohmarow took notice of the girls assortment of pokemon. she didn't seem to specialize like he did and judging by the few she had on hand she was either not a gym trainer or just starting out, he assumed the later by her comment.
Ohmarow took a limping step close to offer his hand to the girl as a greeting. "Watching a battles fine but real experience can't be beaten or replicated. Besides that wasn't anything worth watching i promise you." It really wasn't. It was a prolonged game of Rattata and Meowth. He won using his weaker pokemon but to do that required he drive the battle to the braking point for both himself, the challenger and the pokemon.
