Appearance/Physical Description: Name: Melinda Foss Gender: Female Height: 5'6" Weight: 140lbs Age: 21 Birthday: February 8th Home Town: Castelia, Unova Personality: More girly than most would guess given her typical tomboyish personality, Mel can be a bit impulsive. She's a little too quick to act and judge, but her heart's in the right place. She's not one to put up with bullying, and she doesn't appreciate condescending attitude. Her temper is a bit of a problem, though... that, with her habit of not quite thinking things through first, is part of why she's been asked to take a break from the force. 'Under cover work', but even she knows that it's not supposed to be a mission, so much as a suggestion for her personal growth. She's not the sort to take things easy, however, and keeps her focus on her main goal of trying to rid the world of crime (emphasis on 'try').
She likes to stay busy, and usually prefers to stay active. That being said, she's been known to settle down with a book and drink some tea when she's feeling like relaxing. Studying, however, is a weakness for her; she'd rather be kickboxing, running, or shopping. She enjoys socializing and she's rather playful, even a bit flirty, but not very serious in her jests. She's a little hypocritical in that as intense as she can be about following the law, she's done some social drinking since she was thirteen. She likes helping people, and she likes to think herself a good listener, and unlike usual, tends to try and think through her advice before she gives it. She's decent at reading people but she tends to be a bit suspicious at times, and usually keeps a very subtle distance between herself and just about everyone else. History: Mel grew up the daughter of a dojo fighter-- the leader, in fact. Her father taught her and her siblings to fight, though she was the one that stuck with it the most. Her younger sister practices regularly, too, but Mel took the initiative to work at it, and join his dojo to compete and get better. She figured it would help her in the line of work she always wanted to get into-- law enforcement. When she was little, she would follow police officers around, and even when she was far too small to do anything, she tried to tell people to follow the law. Usually people either thought it was cute, or annoying, some kid telling them to pick up their trash, or stop bullying others around. She got herself into more than a little trouble, but as she learned to fight, she got much, much better at taking care of herself whenever that happened. She started to earn a bit of a reputation for herself, but growing up in a city as big as Castelia, even with her father's reputation above her, she was never exactly renown or well known. There were just certain places some people would go to avoid her-- and she picked up on that. She was always snooping around, trying to find crime in her spare time, whenever she wasn't at school or practicing with her father.
Again, it got her into some trouble.
Ultimately, though, her dedication got noticed. She made connections with police officers that grew as she got older, and she was able to join the academy at the earliest possible opportunity (with some tips, pre-training, and a head start thanks to relationships with those already working the force). She was able to graduate and start working her way through the system, but as she started walking the streets and doing patrols, some... minor issues started becoming apparent. Old patterns made themselves clear. She was still impulsive, still headstrong. On more than one occasion she made a bad call, acted too quickly, or didn't wait for orders from a superior officer. She didn't always take the reprimand well, either. She waffled between arguing her case and admitting when she was wrong, and it was as frustrating for her -- perhaps even more so -- as it was for those above her. And it showed, too.
After some... recent incidents, she was asked to take some time to herself, but true to her colors, she's not handling it as strictly as she's been told to. She's too dedicated to the cause.

Appearance/Physical Description: Name: Brian Gender: Male Height: 5'9" Weight: 175lbs Age: 22 Birthday: Home Town: Castelia, Unova Personality: Brian is your average meathead, at least at times. He likes to work out, exercise, play sports, and go for walks or runs when he has down time. He has a different kind of intelligence-- maybe more of an intuition. He's better figuring things out on his own, or being lead to a conclusion, than trying to directly tackle a question. Despite his exercise enthusiasm, he can be much more laid back, and spend his time reading comics, magazines, or the newspaper in between tasks. And he's not always the... healthiest. It's almost always a safe bet that he has a bag of marshmallows with him, and if he's not munching on those, it's usually a bag of chips, or perhaps some ice cream. He tends to amuse or exhaust most of the people that know him.
Oddly, he's terrified of women. To the extent that he will literally jump out a window or hop a fence to avoid being in their company. It's led to more than a few problems, but he seems to have convinced himself that he's convinced everyone that "It's fine". If the circumstances dictate it, he can hang around, but he'll do his best to put half a football field between himself and any girls, and just talk from a very far distance. Nickname(s): Ian or Bri, depending Orientation: Likes: Soccer, running, rock climbing, parkour, weight lifting, and fighting, which admittedly he's surprisingly not that good at, but enjoys learning Dislikes: Brian isn't bothered by a lot, at least, not deeply. There are a few things he dislikes -- having his space persistently invaded, getting bullied or seeing people bully his friends -- but he tends to brush stuff off and shrug it away rather than confront it. That's nto to say he's spineless; if he sees someone getting pushed around or mugged or something, especially if Mel is with him, he'll run over to try and help to. He's not a towering guy, but he is strong, and he doesn't mind stepping in to take a hit to try and help, or cool things down. Just like the two sides of his personality when it comes to being healthy, though, he can often settle to the side of hesitation to balance out Melinda's impulsiveness, and has developed a sort of artificial anxiety just to avoid her getting herself, and him, into trouble while they're on their journey. Name: Fenris Age: 20 Relation: Brother Personality: Fenris is the introvert of the family, not that Kiara is particularly outgoing. He's just... substantially more comfortable at his computer, and he'd rather not talk to anyone if he could help it. He's heavily into programming and networking (literally), and though his family doesn't know it, he started working at an IT job when he was 17, and has gone through a few promotions since then. He almost lives in his room, and his family can literally go days before realizing they haven't actually heard a word from him. Like Mel, he was raised doing martial arts, and he still keeps at it, to some degree, just to stay in shape, but he's not nearly on top of actually practicing with people, and keeping the skill and precision of it, as she is.
Name: Kiara Age: 17 Relation: Half-sister Personality: You know how people say not to be afraid around some animals, because they can smell your fear? It's a common joke that Kiara's more akin to them, because she's the same way. If she picks up that you're afraid of something, she will constantly hold it in your peripheral vision. She likes to get a rise out of people, but she won't give much of one in turn, and though her siblings won't admit it, Mel, at the very least, is a little unnerved by her, and she probably knows it. No one knows what her fears are, and she's still young enough that her parents haven't encouraged her to go out and see the world, so there hasn't been much opportunity to learn. She usually busies herself playing games -- small games like mario, or online chess, etc. She willingly took up martial arts, but she asked her dad if she could vary her style more from the sort that he, Mel, and her brother use, and has a much more evasive and fast-move based style. It works out well -- probably on purpose -- because she's much more petite than her siblings, and doesn't nearly have the weight they do to pull some of the same moves.
