History:
The story of Liylasa starts really with the story of her parents. While her mother worked as a server and entertainment to a group of people that ran underground pit fights in Oba, her father was a traveling warrior looking for a way to make it big. Her mother was tasked with seeing what the fighters needed, no matter what that might be. During her mother's time as a worker to the group, her father happened to find his way down to Oba in an attempt to make a name for himself outside of Zena. With little money to his name and a good sword hand, he managed to find his way into the fights where he met Liylasa's mother. Being a cocky young man, her father was insufferable in his flirting and attempts at courting her mother. Every week he showed up to fight despite the damage it caused him sometimes, and every week she was there to patch his sorry self up afterwards. It was a game of cat and mouse for the two of them that went on for a year before her mother relented and actually agreed to a date with him. They continued to see each other in relative secrecy until the day her mother found out she was pregnant with the little bundle of joy that was Liylasa. While her father had been saving money to buy a small home in Oba, her mother had had different plans. She wanted to return to her homeland and start a life there. While fighting was all her father knew, he willingly gave it up in order to start a life together with his new wife.
Being the only child, Liylasa was raised under careful watch by both parents. Due to her hybrid lineage, she didn't have many friends growing up and adventured by herself for the most part. While she wasn't necessarily lonely in doing so, she does have an independent streak and struggles to make friends now that she's a bit older. While slavery is illegal in Oba now, both her parents still caution her and keep her away from Oba at all costs. This has made her grow up believing the Obans to be these big bad people she should be avoiding. Ever the adventurous child though, her own curiosity sometimes gets the better of her as she ventures forth trying to get closer to everything her parents have warned her about. Fearing her inevitable disobedience, her father taught her everything he knew about fighting and getting around in an attempt to prepare her for whatever she plans on doing in the future. While she knows the skills he's taught her, her real dream is to be a great explorer and find wonderful treasures to bring back to her parents to help them and the rest of the Matorians. She even hopes to travel to Zena to see just what the people of her other half are like. Not knowing what the ice people are like other than her father, she believes them all to be amazing fighters and warriors that are charismatic like he is. She's excited to meet them and hopefully learn more from them.
