Look below to see which activity is available for your character, and pick the appropriate activity for your student's stage. Do not claim growth points for your student until the class is over and Rain has quoted you stating you have passed. Should you do the assignment incorrectly I will quote you to correct it, and if it is not corrected before the class ends your character will get a failing grade. Please do not post in this thread beyond turning in your activity, homework, or rping turning in said activity or homework. Class Activities
For this month's class, Freshlings and Seniors will have to pair up. You are welcome to rp both students if they are your own, or pair up with other people. Please do not post in this thread looking for a partner, use the main thread or privately reach out to people to see if they'd be interested in taking this class with you.
If, after the class, you decide that the Senior would like to show the Freshling how it turned out, please make a separate thread in the RP forum for that, and treat it as any other rp. Have fun!
Freshlings:
Imagination Station!
Sokeri smiled at the youngest students, bidding them to take their seats at the long tables near the front of the large room. Each table was covered in art supplies and paper, crayons and markers littering each table top.
"Welcome! Today I'd like you to come up with something fun you'd like to eat. You can draw it or write it out, and it could be anything! You can be specific, such as saying you want a pink cake with white frosting, or abstract such as a bowl of clouds with rainbows on top. Later I will ask a Senior to bring your creation to life, and hopefully we'll see if we can make something yummy. Alright class, good luck!"
What your student needs to do:
Use the form below. Either draw or describe an imaginary dish. It can be realistic or abstract! Your rp response should be at least a few lines long, including their thoughts on the class and why they pick what they do, as well as turning in their paper.

Juniors:
Flavor Interpretation!
Sokeri waited until everyone had taken their seats, closing the door after the bell finished ringing before addressing her Junior class. They wouldn't actually be cooking today, but she was curious to see what they'd do with today's assignment.
"Good morning, everyone. Today's lesson is going to be a little abstract and will focus on cooking as an art form. Just as music can invoke a memory or emotion, we're going to be coming up with a dish that's meant to reflect something. You're welcome to find a poem, song, or art piece that you want to interpret into a dish, or even write down a moment of importance to you specifically that you'll be trying to capture in edible form.
The one stipulation is that you can't find an image of an apple, and give me an apple, so to speak. Try to get creative here. Are you trying to tell me something was bittersweet? Try dark chocolate. Is there a lot of light and laughter in the piece? Try citrus flavors, or even floral since some flowers are edible. Have fun with this one!"
What your student needs to do:
Use the form below. Find something you want to represent in food form! It could be a picture, a song, a poem, or a memory your student has themselves. Give me a name and description of the dish, or even dishes, that represent your student's chosen piece. It could be a real thing, or something your student is making up. List reasons why this was chosen to represent the piece. Either the whole, or what each part means in expressing the idea. An rp response of what they were thinking during the process, and of them turning the homework in.
Form:

Student's Name: Piece they will be representing: (link, or if it's a memory of the student's, please write it down) Dish (or Dishes) they have chosen: (link if it's an actual food, or name and describe what they've come up with, listing the ingredients) Why does this dish represent this piece?: (Give me your student's thought process. Does the orange flavor represent the happiness in the song? Etc. etc. Bullet point is fine, or a written explanation) Short RP response:
Seniors:
Creation Station!
This was going to be good, she could tell. Holding the door open to greet each student as they poured into the room with it's tables and cooking stations, she nodded towards the chairs. She'd start her class with explaining the activity before handing out their own assignment and cutting them loose to create.
"Alright! Let's get right to it because you'll want all the time you can get. I asked the Freshling class to come up with an imaginary dish, and now your job will be to bring it to life. Some students were very literal, and others were completely abstract. You will be interpreting their creation into actual food to the best of your abilities. If you want to, you may present that Freshling with their now fully created dish after classes are over for the day. The caretakers are aware of this activity and will help you locate them, their names should be at the top of their page.
For the abstract creations, try to represent the taste and texture of what you'd imagine they'd be. If they gave you a bowl of clouds with rainbows on top, that could be marshmallow fluff with sprinkles. If they were literal and said chocolate covered tomatoes, maybe do something with different flavors of chocolate, add herbs to the chocolate while it's still melted before dipping the tomatoes. Be as creative as possible while still representing their idea.
That's it! Here, everyone take a Freshling's paper and go go go! I'll be walking around if you need help. Good Luck!"
What your student needs to do:
Use the form below. Find a way to recreate your partner Freshling's idea, name the dish if they haven't themselves. If it's an actual recipe, please link it. If not, describe it. RP their thought process on the class and the choices they made. Why did they choose what they did to represent the Freshling's creation? RP them actually making the creation, whether this is going well or not. Do the plan on giving it to their partner Freshling? Are they excited or dreading it? Do they think the dish turned out well or think it will taste horrible?
Form:

Name it, describe it, find pictures) Short RP response:
Student's Name: Laviticus Piece they will be representing: The first time Laviticus got to be close to Galan -- more than just sitting across the table, but sitting next to him. Galan's tail wrapped around his ankles, the two sipping tea together, feeling the warmth spreading through him ... that comfort and security. Dish (or Dishes) they have chosen:Cordon Bleu Why does this dish represent this piece?: The chicken is filled with protein -- something to keep you going -- and something warm that completely melts your heart, warms you from the inside out, and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. It's a comfort food, something that takes Laviticus to his happy place. Short RP response: Laviticus wrote down all his thoughts on to his page, the memory of him and Galan during his first trip to their now shared dorm still crisp and clear in his mind. His mouth was nearly watering at the very idea of cordon bleu, and now he wanted to rush home and make it, even if it was just the frozen kind.
Laviticus finished up his paper, then skipped up to the desk to turn it in.

Student's Name: Cyril Piece they will be representing: The Sleepover the night before he was adopted Dish (or Dishes) they have chosen:Sweet Tooth Popcorn Why does this dish represent this piece?:
popcorn - salty - the blood and bruises he had candy coating & mnm's & reese's pierces - sweet - the kindness the family showed to him salted cashews & peanuts - the nuts who took him in and cared for him Short RP response: Cyril thought about the assignment. A recipe that represented something to him. The most immediate thought that came to his mind was the sleepover he'd had with Wade. The first night that they'd met and he had been just trying to find somewhere to hide. Wade and his whole family had been really sweet and he'd been adopted the next day. He thought about what sort of dish could represent all his turbulent feelings that night. After looking around online and in various cookbooks, he decided on sweet popcorn. Not only did the flavors remind him of the night, but they'd had popcorn with the movie.
Student's Name: Jane Piece they will be representing: Her best and closest friend, Lilly, who loves dinosaurs. Dish (or Dishes) they have chosen: Green dyed dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets. Why does this dish represent this piece?: The green is to reflect on her friend. Her friend is warm and so when she thinks of green, she's reminded of her and her warmth. The dinosaurs cut to the chicken nuggets represent love and passion--since her friend is passionate and loving about these extinct beasts. She wants to share that warmth with the world. Short RP response: When the assignment was given, there was no doubt in her mind what she had to make it about, or rather, whom she had to make it about. Lilly. Her closest friend, her only friend. The one who stuck with her through thick and thin. Who pulled her into the conversation and made sure that she was okay. Without Lilly, Jane was---well---in a boat without any paddles, floating uselessly alone in the water.
Lilly was the support and love that she needed in order to get through with school. She wanted to show that support somehow. Representing Lilly and what she loved was the only way she knew how. Immediately, she thought of those frozen chicken nuggets in the shape of dinosaurs that her dad sometimes bought. They were made in the store so there had to be someway to make the real thing. But---they were brown. Not green. That wouldn't look at all like her Lilly.
But maybe..it could be charmed green? She hummed to herself. That could work! Better yet, it would make it look mossy. A perfect look for the green dryad.
