H A P P E N I N G S
09/21/16: Growth to Blade approved. 01/08/16: Akacia was won in the Extremist Flatsale!
For as long as she can remember, it seems like things have always been brewing in Akacia's life. Her earliest memories are those of her mother ranting about Shifters, and their unfortunately close proximity. She distinctly recalled a period of near a month where her mother went out 'hunting' for unwelcome guests on their land. As it turned out, Layeta had no patience for Shifters, despite them living on the mainland, while Layeta and her daughter did not. "They're a threat," she'd warned.
Several years later, her mother's focus turned to the Obans. They were not like the Shifters, who lived so close but were otherwise relatively harmless. The Fire Earthlings actually sought to control things they had no business looking at, let alone owning. Layeta was in a rage. If they had their way, they would destroy Aisha and everything the Alkidikes lived for. Akacia listened to tales from all around camp of the horrible things her sisters thought might happen if they did nothing. Her mother was really quite loud about the whole thing. "They are an even bigger threat," she'd hissed softly.
Naturally, when Layeta went to war, Akacia was not permitted to follow. She was to stay behind with the other girls of her age and 'guard' their home. If the worst should happen, Layeta counted on her daughter to keep the place safe. Akacia never doubted her mother would return victorious. She was strong-willed, powerful, boisterous, and always hungry for victory. Mother would not fail. Somehow, word traveled faster than the returning Alkidikes. It was a week after learning of victory that Akacia saw her mother again.
Layeta was not pleased. She was angry. "They didn't get what they deserved," she'd spat.
These strange foreigners that Akacia had never laid eyes on had upset her mother. They'd upset her family, hurt them, attacked them, warred with them. And at the end of it all, they were slapped on the wrist and sent home. By now, Akacia was old enough to be angry too. She was old enough to hate people she'd never seen and old enough to want lands she'd never visited. Layeta wanted them too, after all.
She followed her mother (and many of her other sisters) to Sauti. The Alkidike deserved to live in peace. These people had caused so much trouble and never been properly punished. These lands belonged to them more than the others. All Earthlings were trespassers.
Needless to say, the Earthlings didn't agree.
And there were just so many of them.
Despite Akacia's desire to simply return home, rally, regroup, and try again, Layeta chose to follow the matron into exile, and that settled any doubts Akacia herself might have had about the adventure. Unfortunately, Yael holds many surprises Aka isn't ready for, and the island nation quickly starts to feel like the cage it's meant to be.
Dancing Petals: A slightly powerful attack that draws on the movement of falling petals. Roll for attack as normal. Damage is boosted +3 for that turn, and speed gains +2 for three turns. Can only be used once every 3 turns. Considered a full turn attack.
