Profile:
Gourdi Jackyl is a strange troll with a mind fit for a clown.
She is forever tormented by the idea that Evil Spirits fill the world in a realm that she and the rest of Alternia's inhabitants cannot see. Most of her ideas in regards to the spirit bud from her own nightmares, and the tales that HoofDaddy enjoys telling her. She thinks that said Evil Spirits are what lie dormant in the body of each and every troll and she believes them to be the true cause for the nightmares that occur during every troll's sleep sequence. The more vicious and uncontrollable a troll, the more Evil Spirits they have harbored within them. She sees the Evil Spirits as the darker side of a troll's conscious, the ones whispering nasty things in the dusty corners of one's mind and tricking them into straying from their original path. Upon a troll's demise, the Evil Spirits will reawaken the body and become especially bloodthirsty. Because of this, Gourdi is terrified of the dead.²
She sculpts what she calls deathstones in order to mark the burial place of those unnamed troll bodies she finds during her adventures; hoping it to decrease the number of Evil Spirits attempting to sway her and other trolls from the path of a juggalo. She believes that burying the body will further prevent its reanimation via the corruption of leftover Evil Spirits. She also does this to discourage trolls from tampering with the death box after she's sealed it, hoping that the work of digging 6 feet beneath the surfacedirt will discourage any looters.¹ On each deathstone she engraves a warning, instructing the reader to NEVER, EVER, DIG UP AND OPEN THIS CORPSE BOX in order to keep the Evil Spirits that had been purified from the body trapped within the buried box. She also sculpts gargoyles in order to dissuade said Evil Spirits from coming near; often making them look as grotesque as she possibly can in order to scare off anything she has deemed unwanted. She uses the gargoyle in particular due to a terrifying experience she had as a grub, involving a lusus that took the form of an exceptionally ******** spooky gargoyle who'd been enraged when Gourdi had stumbled upon her turf. Even remembering the event will inspire feartremors to overtake Gourdi's body, and thus she has deemed it worthy of scaring away the Evil Spirits. Since she hasn't seen any on her lawnring, they obviously work.¹ Her mind is warped by the horror stories told to her by HoofDaddy (most of them revolving around the undead); and due to her mentor's mysterious nature, she has great trouble distinguishing real from fake... thus, she tends to believe that every story must be true and the bodies must be both purified and buried in order to keep the Evil Spirits from taking over in the host's stead and wreaking gorey havoc upon the land. She is particularly fearful of the sight of an unmoving corpse, and will often panic when around one.
Thus, she buries her fears and she sculpts them; her burial ceremony and sculpting acting as calming mechanisms, to soothe her overly suspicious and oddly paranoid thought patterns. The gargoyles she sculpts are unable to come to life and harm her as the lusus from her past had. The bodies are unable to rise from their corpse boxes and displace 6 feet worth of ground to make the world a gorey mess like the ones in HoofDaddy's stories do. It's truly the only way she can sleep at day, by both facing and burying her fears.¹
Gourdi, too, is a perfectionist. A trait stemming from her sculpting hobby, as each placement of the chisel and tap of the hammer is paramount in creating a perfect work of art; especially when drilling out something so detailed as a gargoyle. She is passionate about her work, and will focus on it without pause for great lengths of time. This has rooted within her a sort of steady patience; almost a sort of meditation. It relieves the stress from her body and allows her mind to go calm. As soon as she's done, however, her emotions will more often than not catch back up to her and her temper will, without fail, always return. She likes things done the way she wants them to be, and wields her blood-given self-entitlement like a weapon; often blowing up into all-out tantrums when things don't go her way. She is notably enraged by being told "no" (something HoofDaddy does quite often) and she'll be quite nasty to anyone that tries to tell her to do something other than what her bloodpusher truly craves. Disrespecting the cult around Gourdi is also a good way to get her screaming with rage.¹ If she wants something, she takes it. If she gets an idea in her head about doing something, she does it. She revels in her cult's favor for capriciousness; doing her best to be as free-thinking as possible, in complete agreeance with the Carnival's tenets.
In regards to the hemospectrum, Gourdi doesn't have much interest in anything lower than blue... and even with the blues, she'll tend to sneer a little. She'll offered the skilled craftsmen and occasional artist her beetles and a feigned smile, but she still will think of them as nothing more than nature-provided servants. She treats them with a begrudging non-violence, only because they do occasionally have something interesting to provide in exchange for their ******** low blood color.¹ Purple, of course, is her favorite color; and the only color, in her opinion, that truly matters. All the others are just meant to take orders. When it comes to those that are higher than her within the blood caste, not including- of course- the Queen, Gourdi does find a bit of trouble in reigning in her narcissism and treating the higherblood with respect; unless, of course, they prove to be someone she can idolize (ie: the Queen). She tries, of course; often stuttering over her narcissism and doing her best to keep her insults to a minimum. But unless they're someone she has deemed particularly inspiring to her pumpbiscuit, it will never come easy to her. Once they've hit that milestone, however, she will treat them with nothing but a perfectly perfected clowny politeness.¹
Strengths:
Passionate
When it comes to the things she likes and the emotions she feels, Gourdi holds nothing back. Everything she does, she does with vigor. Her motivation is an unrelenting force and she is rarely swayed from something she has set her mind on doing. Because of this, she tends to get herself into quite the tremendous amount of trouble; though her cunning nature (and status as a Highblooded juggalo) is usually enough to get her out of it. She takes her religious views very seriously and is most passionate about the Cult of the Mirthful Messiahs. Her passion leads her to diligently accomplishing her goals, as well as helping to improve herself and her survivability. It allows her to follow her pumpbiscuit's whims quite easily, and provides her with a comforting sense of both independence and strength.¹
Creative
Gourdi's personality comes equipped with an artistic flair. She has a mind that does well with the abstract and the mysterious; as well as hands that feel the need to constantly create. Her favored form of expression is sculpting. She has quite the nack for designing especially grotesque-looking gargoyles to ward off the Evil Spirits meaning to tempt her from her path as a juggalo (or steal away the bodies of unprotected corpses)¹; and she often finds a great deal of solace in her work. She finds pleasure in the feeling of accomplishment after creating an especially noteworthy gargoyle or deathstone, and she can make quite the good amount of beetles off the other trolls interested in her work- though, admittedly, she sometimes has issues with letting go of her scariest pieces. She likes having the ability to express her inner fears via art. She finds it soothing to her bloodpusher, and feels as though each finished piece cleanses her spirits.¹
Flaws:
Greedy
If she wants something, for whatever reason, Gourdi has a tendency to take it- no matter the cost to her. Having been given the self-entitled life of a highblood, she believes that everything in the world is her's should she will it so and will often shove a lowblood down into the dirt in order to swipe whatever thing she deemed interesting enough to take. Her greed is so large and uncontrollable that there are times where she feels inclined to take something she doesn't necessarily want; usually finding things that other trolls consider dear to them particularly tempting. Despite her high status on the hemospectrum, she has a tendency towards being envious of even the smallest things and she is especially enamored with the idea of garnering affection from the trolls around her. She despises having the spotlight stolen from her, and will often hate those that seem more likeable than she.²
Temperamental
In congruence with her passionate nature, Gourdi is also very easily swayed by her emotions- especially rage. She is very much prone to throwing wiggler-like tantrums when she's unhappy with things; often letting out ear-shattering shrieks whenever her frustrations reach their peak. Her fuse is a short one, and it is quite easily lit. Should another troll be keen on keeping their hearing in tact they'd be wise to keep on her calm side. Her explosiveness lasts about as long as it takes for things to go the way she wants them to go, and though she's not usually one to hold grudges- she does tend to treat the offending troll with a certain cattiness until they've offered up some form of apology.²

Very long, very thick hair that waves its way down to the backs of her knees. White, skull-inspired face paint with purple around her eyes and painted on her lips. Sharp canines. Home:
Gourdi lives within a clearing in Four Fronds relatively close to the swamp's edge. Her hive is large, black, and reminiscent of Gothic architecture- whatever that is- with a large lawnring claimed by the iron-wrought fence she'd stuck up around it. Her yard is littered with gargoyles and stones meant to mark the burial place of unnamed trolls; called deathstones. There is a thick fog clinging to the clearing consistently, and HoofDaddy has a tendency to run up out of nowhere and scare the terror juices out of any trespassing trolls as he is- naturally- quite territorial. Within her hive, are numerous respiteblocks; some empty, while others are filled with dusty furniture. The East Wing is the only area frequently utilized by Gourdi. This wing is where her favorite respiteblock can be found, softly illuminated with the flickering of candles. It is filled with gargoyles and tombstones; the majority of them either abandoned or awaiting completion. Gourdi will often become quite frantic if any are displaced, and she's very determined about keeping her hive excessively clean. Her Recuperacoon sits in the middle of the room, with every single gargoyle facing it. The walls and floor are painted black; though she has many purple-colored rugs strewn across the ground to keep things comfortable.
Lusus:
HoofDaddy is a very large, quite formidable lusus. When it comes to HoofDaddy's "parenting" he chooses a very strict, ******** route.. with the occasional prank or two, in order to make sure Gourdi is ever-ready for surprises, and therefore always prepared for the worst. He is quite pleased with Gourdi's artistic talents and is happy to go into the city to retrieve the materials she needs in order to sculpt her marvelous ******** creatures.
He tells her his stories to keep her scared of the world; to keep her from further growing into an overconfident danger to herself. He's a wise lusus that has had many trolls grow under his watch, and he has felt strong feelings for each one. His only wish is to keep Gourdi safe from harm; to allow her to experience life for as long as possible.
... if only Gourdi could appreciate that, instead of resent it with the entirety of her little bloodpusher...
Despite his rough handling of his young charge's rather explosive emotions, HoofDaddy cares a great deal for Gourdi and would do anything in order to keep her from harm. He is over-protective, and follows her everywhere (often to her immense ********> displeasure). It is because of HoofDaddy that Gourdi is rarely approached; though his control over her has greatly decreased since Gourdi became a juggalo. She's made a talent of escaping his hold to go out and celebrate with her fellow clowns, only to be begrudgingly chaperoned when HoofDaddy catches up to her. He has had a hard time coping with Gourdi's outburst of independence, spurred on further by her joining the cult. He often attempts to prevent Gourdi from participating in the events put on by the cult, fearing for her safety and wishing with all his horsey might that she think before she acts. But, Gourdi is quite adamant in ignoring his warnings; thus the lusus often ends up acting as the quiet, intimidating lusus-over-the-shoulder. He'd rather be with her, begrudgingly, than have her run away from him.¹
