There is just fog. As you look around you, all you see is fog and absolutely nothing else. The presence of the fog is pervasive, cloistering. It feels as if you are suffocating, and you barely register pressing forwards. Getting out of this fog, or even surviving it, will be a challenge.
Was it just your imagination or did you hear something else stirring in the fog?
ZONE THREE THINGS TO DO:
Each zone has a [ GM ORP ] which you may participate in for event plots. Finishing a GM ORP will give you bonus district points to apply to your faction base's HP AND extra items for your minis inventory. exclaim To access the GM ORP for zone 3, read the posts below! You will be given the option to PRP inside the zone AFTER you finish the base GM ORP requirements.
[ Zone Mob Thread ] This can only be accessed AFTER your GM ORP. Go HERE
This zone has a secret area that is accessible only by completing your map. Read more BELOW on how to do this and when you are done, go HERE
exclaim[ IF YOU OWN A RADIO ] this area is EXTREMELY FOGGY. RECEPTION IS SUPER POOR. Words break down all the time. For example, a sentence that should be "where am I?" will be broken into "w-------". Sometimes, the radio just fails to work.

ZONE THREE GM ORP: THE FOG:
You begin take a direction running from the casino - it doesn't matter where. All that matters is that you are as far away from the sounds of gunfire and screams as possible. It is grey all around you, just layers and layers of thick fog. You hear something, and barely avoid one of the infected lunging out, clawing at you. Several more follow your path.
As you run further, the fog grows almost unbearable, a thick, cloistering white. You trip over things you cannot see. You grab onto things you cannot completely hear. You feel blinded, as if trapped in an infinite space. It is impossible to tell if any of the infected or undying are nearby.
Voices begin to talk to you. They start off as familiar voices, friends, family perhaps. They became more menacing, more sinister, taking over what little sanity you had left. They echo your past regrets, they mimic conversations you've had before, and then a familiar voice rings out in your head, if you were just at the casino. "Everyone is infected". It plays over and over and over.
You feel a strange itch as something snaps within you. Your mind begins to wander and you realize you have lost your sense of reality. It is very possible, the longer you stay, the less you will stay yourself. You wonder when you will succumb to the virus.
OOC: ZONE THREE
BEFORE YOU GET STARTED:
[ Infection rate and YOU ]: All players as long as they RP in zone 3 must add ONE MORE mechanic to their OOC post in their rps. This is called the infection rate. Simply stick this line [ at the top ] within your character's OOC information post. It should look something like this:
[ Infection Rate ]: NUMBER HERE /100
Your character's mood, health, and personality are highly influenced by their infection rate. As mentioned before, as long as your character is in this zone, they are influenced by infection. Keep track of it! Here is breakdown of the infection symptoms, which you will RP if your character is [ within that infection rate ].
[ INFECTION RATE SYMPTOMS ] (RP THIS IN ALL YOUR ZONE 3 POSTS WITH THE APPROPRIATE SYMPTOMS WHEN YOU ARE AT THAT STAGE)
[ 1- 20 ] Voices whisper in your character's head, and they don't exactly always sound like your own character's. You feel a sense of uneasiness and paranoia. It feels like people are looking at you when they possibly are not. You feel terrified at the smallest of noises.
[ 21- 40 ] Your paranoia begins to build up even more. You begin to get angry as well, and your skin begins to itch sporadically. Sometimes, instead of just voices, you swear you see faces of familiar people in the distance. They always fade away when you stare directly at them.
[ 41 - 60 ] Your paranoia has peaked. You feel terrified, alone, but you also feel the anger of being left alone. You begin to sweat, building a light fever and nausea. You sometimes pause mid-conversation entirely as in front of you sometimes appear people familiar to you, talking to you instead (if you are at this stage, you must consistently roll 1d10 per non-battle post you make, and if you roll 1-3 you begin to hallucinate).
[ 61 - 80 ] You fever begins to escalate leaving you weak, dizzy, and thirsty all the time. Your skin itches terribly, and you feel it flaking, you feel it peeling (even though physically, there's nothing wrong with your skin). You feel as if your entire skin is peeling off to reveal a darkness underneath. Occasionally, your words become jumbled, unable to form proper sentences. The apparitions haunt you consistently, to the point where you can't tell the difference between what is real and fake.
[ 81 - 99 ] Everything is overwhelming, the slightest whisper or noise sounds like terrible roaring noise that overwhelms your senses and sends you reeling into endless lapses of fear. You are entirely hallucinating, to the point where sometimes you forget who you even are, wandering corridors as if in a dream you cannot control. Physically, at this stage, your eyes and nose begin to bleed, sporadically, as your fingernails and toenails peel right off.
[ 100 ] YOUR CHARACTER IS FULLY INFECTED. They instantly die.
gaia_crown[ INFECTION RATE CURES ]
- RPing in a thread with someone who has LESS infection rate than you will decrease your infection rate by -5. This only works ONCE PER THREAD (so if your thread has 5 people, you can only have it effect you ONCE in that RP by ONE of those five people). This RP must be over 250 words of interaction between the two players to count.
- Defeating one of the mobs in the zone mob thread will decrease your infection rate by -5 per mob you defeat.
PART 1: ESCAPING THE FOG:
When you are done reading the above, post in THIS GM ORP THREAD your character escaping the fog by [ rolling 1d6 and matching your dice roll to the results below ]. Roll three times to escape. RP the results out. Tally your [ infection rate ] accordingly (think of infection rate as this zone's version of "casino coins"!) Once again, POST IN THIS THREAD YOUR THREE ROLLS and RP THEM OUT USING THE PROMPTS BELOW.
If you are in the approximate area with another player (ie: holding hands, being VERY CLOSE to each other), you may rp this with each other by just quoting each other in the ORP. Otherwise, players cannot see each other.
gaia_crown[ All Fog Escape Rolls ] (ROLL 1d6 RP IT OUT, DO THIS THREE TIMES TO "ESCAPE" TO PART 2)
[ Rolling 1 ] You walk around in the fog, entirely lost. You begin to hear someone talking to you, and it sounds like yourself. They mock you for being such a failure in the trials so far with clear examples of when. The fact that they know scares you. [ +5 infection, ADD THIS TO YOUR OOC INFECTION RATE TALLY ].
[ Rolling a 2 ] You walk around the fog and trip over something. As you involuntarily look at it, you see the rotting face of someone familiar to you. Shaken, you backtrack. The body and obstacle are gone. [ +10 infection, ADD THIS TO YOUR OOC INFECTION RATE TALLY ].
[ Rolling a 3 ] You wander aimlessly at the fog until you reach a clearing. Instead of fog, there is just a circle of people, around eight of them. They stand there wordlessly, not even registering you. They do not move from that circle despite any communication you may attempt to them, and you are eventually forced to move away. [ +10 infection, ADD THIS TO YOUR OOC INFECTION RATE TALLY ].
[ Rolling a 4:] You feel something following you from behind the fog, and hear it breathing. It doesn't sound human, and if you dare chance to look back, you see several pairs of eyes blinking at you all at different times. The sounds continue to follow you, but the eyes are nowhere to be seen. [ +5 infection, ADD THIS TO YOUR OOC INFECTION RATE TALLY ].
[ Rolling a 5 ] Your begin to feel dizzy and nauseous as a strange sleepiness comes over you. Your limbs began to drag on and on. Eventually, you are forced to look down - to see hundreds of bodies around you, all sleeping. If you flip one over, you will notice that their faces have been forcefully stitched into smiles, and their entire chest cavity has been crudely stitched and removed, their skin bloated. You run. [ +10 infection, ADD THIS TO YOUR OOC INFECTION RATE TALLY ].
[ Rolling a 6 ] At last you come to the exit of the fog! You run towards it, and it seems to continue the same distance as you run on and on and on. Eventually, you realize that you were not getting any closer to the exit. [ +5 infection, ADD THIS TO YOUR OOC INFECTION RATE TALLY ].

As you continue to move, you eventually reach old, rusted gates leading to a hospital of some sorts. Some sorts because the hospital looks long abandoned, surrounded by wandering infected. At least inside you will not have to deal with the strange fog and the even stranger shadows swarming around you.
One thing is sure for any who set foot inside the hospital: there is no fog. It is also entirely abandoned, and pitch black.
EVENT RPS
STEP 2: EVENT RPS
Your character must now [ survive 24 IC hours ] in this area through a series of EVENT RPS. If they try to move beyond the outskirts of the hospital (or hospital itself!) they end up stranded in the fog again and must reroll STEP 1 (see post above). This is basically a "survival simulation" exercise where your character tries to overcome both psychological and physical horrors as they fight the infection as the same time. While this zone is active, any "home base" rps you are doing MUST be backdated (ie: they happened PRIOR to this event, you can make new rps but backdate them). Players cannot travel to their home base while ZONE 3 is active in the present IC time. They cannot leave this area ICly.
To survive 24 IC hours, your character can choose to either spend it [ inside the hospital ] or [ outside the hospital ]. Depending which one they pick, they will get different bonuses, see different mobs, and different scenarios. Your character can move around between the two locations if they wish. Really, there isn't that much of a better choice, it is all personal flavour!
[ Step 1 ]: Now your character is ready to endure these 24 IC hours! Calculate from the ABOVE STEP 1 post what your current [ infection rate ] tally is. Include it in the OOC of all your posts from this point onwards.
[ Step 2 ]: Select [ one of the EVENT RP PROMPTS from the list below ]. Keep in mind INSIDE is for inside prompts only, OUTSIDE is for outside prompts only. Select the location appropriate to your character (INSIDE or OUTSIDE). Other players may also join you in this RP, just [ post the prompt you are working on for others to join in this event as well ]. You can do this solo, prp, or ORP. Make a thread in this subforum called [ SURVIVAL PRP/ORP/SOLO (CHAR HERE )].
[ LIST OF SURVIVAL PROMPTS/EVENTS ] (You MUST do 3 and then as many non event prps as you wish, if you want to do more, feel free to!)
gaia_crown[ PROMPT 1 ] [INSIDE ] The Chase
Your character is lost inside the hospital. As the walls become narrower and narrower, they hear a strange scraping noise. They turn around, and see only darkness. As they turn around again, a shadowed figure begins to approach them steadily, a long rusted weapon dragging behind them. It is huge, spanning nearly ten feet. You can feel it breathing behind you, approaching closer.
Your character must RUN AWAY from this thing. Every time you make a post you take -10 damage as it chases you.
To run away, your character MUST take -20 damage OR, drop two items from their minis inventory to slow it down. Announce which items they are. Remove them from your inventory. If multiple characters in your party, all characters need to either drop 2 items or take the -20 damage.
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter. Add only +5 infection if your character suffered NO DAMAGE.
gaia_crown[ PROMPT 2 ] [INSIDE ] The Awakening
Your character steps into one of the hospital rooms accidentally and blacks out. When they wake up, they realize everyone around them is an Infected (terminal virus stage). The hallucinations have gone to their head, making them believe they are all Infected, including themselves. React accordingly. PVP is turned on, but if your character takes more than -10 damage, they snap back to the reality of the situation.
If more than one character, all characters believe the same. Instead of hitting themselves/each other for -10 damage they can also choose to write an "identity crisis" solo or 250 words about what they plan to do knowing they are Infected. After they do so they snap back to awareness and realize that they are still okay for now.
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter.
gaia_crown[ PROMPT 3 ] [INSIDE ] Loss
Your character turns the corner and is suddenly greeted by an apparition of character of your choice, from either this meta OR from before it in their lives that was important to them. That character begins to talk to them, as if they were that person (just rp it out yourself for that part, as this is what your character THINKS is that character). Your character is CONVINCED that this is this person, and they are alive.
The apparition begins to accuse your character of things. They could be anywhere from "why are you making these choices" to "you did __ wrong". You feel paranoia and regret. If you are rping with multiple characters, for this part, you CANNOT see anything other than the apparition. The more they talk, the more the apparition's face, and body begins to rot, as if rapidly going through the stages of the infection. At the very end, you are left talking to an Infected version of the apparition, before it dissolves away. Their accusations never leave you
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter.
gaia_crown[ PROMPT 4 ] [INSIDE ] Understanding
A phone begins to ring as you wander the inside of the hospital. At first you do not want to pick it up, but the noise persists. You wander multiple rooms, and there are multiple phones. Each one you pick is a voice from a person you recognize, begging you for help. Whenever you ask where they are, they hang up. The ringing continues, over and over. If you are RPing this with multiple people, all of you hear the ringing, coming from various phones. It is up to you when your character comes to the realization that the ringing is all in their heads, (or if they need other chars to help them realize so!)
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter.
gaia_crown[ PROMPT 5 ] [ INSIDE ] Dreaming
You're not too sure how, but your character has fallen asleep. If you are in a group with multiple people, each person just dreams a separate dream. As a mix-up, optionally if you are in a group, you can have one of the people be the VICTIM in your dream if you wish (or victims!) You are aware you are asleep, but nothing you do will wake yourself up in this dream. You walk along the dream, and are forced into multiple unwilling scenarios. In the first, you are chasing someone with a weapon of choice down a long hallway, and they beg you to stop. In the second, you turn a hallway, and see them hiding in the room. You can hear them breathing and drag them out from their hiding spot. In the third you raise your weapon against the victim.
As you wake up you realize it was all a dream, and you are sweating intently. Your hands however, are covered in blood. (If a player is RPING the victim, when they wake up they take -10 damage, and are bleeding at [random location ], otherwise make up a bloodied, unconscious victim)
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter.
gaia_crown[ PROMPT 6 ] [ OUTSIDE ] Awakening
Your character wanders around outside, too scared to go into the hospital, too scared to go back to the fog. At some point the fog encroaches, and envelops them entirely. They begin to hear voices from all directions, and it directly shatters their psyche as they are no longer able to process or comprehend what or who they are. They wander the fog for hours, trapped in a state of non-living, as they begin to develop several personas, and talk to each persona of themselves to cope with the situation.
Eventually the effect subsides, and they escape the fog, feeling shaken. It feels like however, a switch has become undone, and they might become unstable again, to the point of even being taken over by the other personas.
If rping this event with multiple people, you only have to pick ONE person to get trapped by the fog, as the other people simply search for them. At the end as the fog recedes they can find them again!
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter
gaia_crown[ PROMPT 7 ] [ OUTSIDE ] Promise
This event can only be rped with TWO or more people. One of the characters begins to lose their mind, convinced that a someone is talking to them, telling them there is safety beyond the fog. They begin to drag the other character that direction as well.
The other character now has the option to fight back with that player, or accept. If they follow, the first player will continue to talk about this imaginary person talking to them (make one up, base it on a person close to that character) has promised them an increasingly more ludicrous count of promises (you can make these up). They get stranger and more unrealistic.
This rp continues until the second character being dragged realizes something is up with the first character. They can choose to roll 1d6 to drag the character back towards the hospital away from the thickness of the fog. If the roll even, they succeed, if they roll odd, the other character continues to drag them. Continue this RP until the second character has rolled 1d6 and rolled even successfully to drag the other player out.
gaia_crown[ PROMPT 8 ][ OUTSIDE ] Safety
Your character finds a campfire, and there's a few people settled around it. The people stationed at the campfire are fixated at it,and almost say nothing to you. You can (and any other players in the thread) talk to them as you wish. When you are done talking to them all, this event is over!
Character 1: A girl with long black hair. She stares into the campfire and continues to say the words she lied over and over.
Character 2: A balding, old man. He begins to recount a story about his past, about how he was a fisherman. All he fished up were dead bodies. He continues to talk about fishing up his friends. He continues to talk about his wife and how he fished her up too. The story gets more and more morbid.
Character 3: A small boy, maybe five years old. He is looking straight at you the entire time. As you approach him, he whispers I know why this is is happening. If you question him further he doesn't say anything. However if you bribe him with a food item (DISCARD IMMEDIATELY AFTER) he will take it and continue speaking. I am Peter Pan. You blink, and as you do, you realize it wasn't a child at all, but simply an skeleton corpse of a child.
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter
gaia_crown[ PROMPT 9 ][ OUTSIDE ] Thorns
You reach a long barricade of thorns on the other side of the wall. They seem to be moving, pulsating with a life of their own and gift out a strange light. Flowers begin to bloom on the wall. When you press your hand against one, you are immediately assaulted with a strange vision (roll 1d6 to see what it is).
1. You see a skyscraper. At the very top there is a greenhouse. You feel yourself hovering above the greenhouse before diving right into it. There is a beautiful garden inside it, almost like a biodome. In the center of the biodome is what looks like some sort of chalice
2. You see hundreds of dead bodies, and a strange feeling washes over you. Apathy. You stand over the bodies and continue searching for at least one survivor. You hear yourself speak. "Are humans really so fragile?"
3. You fight against humans, but this time they are armed. Their weapons hurt. You are frustrated. They are eligible, but none of them will truly accept your wisdom. You kill many without ever feeling accepted. The feeling continues until the vision is over.
4. You fight against creatures of shadows, what you would consider your own breathren. They come in all shapes and sizes, large beasts and dragons, demons and even the undead. They refuse your knowledge. They are not compatible. They beg, negotiate and even fight against you to stop. You assimilate them for their treachery and refusal to serve.
5. You sleep in a long chamber of vines. Inside it are rows and rows of crystals. Each one is important to you. You tap against one, and it resonates, and you feel a strange sense of satisfaction. This is the power you have collected from those living and dead.
6. [ There is no actual image in this vision. Instead, you are assaulted with hundreds, thousands of conflicting thoughts, emotions, and ideals, all of them not your character's own. Your actual character's nose begins to bleed, and they fall to the ground, convulsing. They are unable to roll any other visions from the above if they reach this prompt and eventually pass out ].
Otherwise, you may continue rolling until you have fulfilled the 250 word requirement for it!
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter
gaia_crown[ PROMPT 10 ][ OUTSIDE ] Blossom
As you walk around (if you are in a group there is only ONE), a small pet begins to follow you. It is up to you what appearance they take. It loyally chases after you no matter where you go. It is obedient to your commands and seems rather intelligent.
As you play around with this pet, you begin to notice it has a couple of strange defects. Eyes growing on its back. An extra pair teeth from its chest. Legs protruding from its cut open belly. The defects get worse and worse, and the pet slowly grows more hostile. Eventually, you have to put it out of its misery. (5 HP to defeat it, it does -1 auto damage). If you decide to SPARE IT it will hurt you instead (or one person in your group) for HALF YOUR HEALTH before it disappears.
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter
gaia_crown[ PROMPT 11 ][ OUTSIDE ] Loyalty
A RANDOM NPC (make up a person!) is hurt in front of you. If you are rping in a group it is just ONE NPC character that is hurt (feel free to rp them out!) They are gravely injured and begin to beg for food and water. If you give it to them (DELETE IT FROM YOUR MINIS INVENTORY). Only one person needs to do this.
You may spend time nursing them back to health, or choose to ignore them and continue onwards. If you choose to ignore them, you take NO infection. If you choose to nurse them back to health, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter as you realize, after a while of talking to them, there was no injured person at all, and you have been talking to nothing
Whenever you rp from this point onwards, you will occasionally see them staring at you from the darkness. If you helped them, they say nothing, if you did not, they accuse you of abandoning someone to die over and over.
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter
[ Step 3: ] In the [ first post of your thread ], please use this following form and fill it out accordingly. Only ONE person has to fill out this part (the person making the thread)
** RP OUT INTRO PROMPT OF YOUR CHAR ENTERING**
Scenario requirements: *COPY AND PASTE HERE THE EXPLANATION FOR WHAT IS REQUIRED* Characters involved: If solo or PRP fill out characters here Extra effect: All players need to follow this effect. Go HERE and COPY AND PASTE the LATEST effect posted and place it here. This is now IC to this thread.

THE USUAL STATS HERE

QUOTE THEM
[ Step 3b: ] Extra mechanics:
- There are a few extra mechanics to note. The first is the [ added effect prompt ]. This is found simply by going to THIS THREAD and reading the LATEST PROMPT POST. Copy and paste accordingly into the form above, and make sure all players rp according to it. For example, the prompt might be "it is raining". All players need to then rp the thread as if it was raining, and what to do in a raining scenario (ICLY).
-Certain prompts may [ ask you to sacrifice food/ gain items/ lose health/ fight mobs ]. Respond to it accordingly.
- Certain players might have been given [ hidden bonuses ]. They are random. Players can choose WHEN they wish to reveal that their character has a hidden bonus ICly. When they do, note it in their OOC thread. For example, if a player is injured, another player might have been given the hidden bonus that they can fully heal a player once. When they do so, quote the PM they have been given in their ooc quote with the proper instructions . This is a rare occurrence, and only a FEW player will be randomly selected and pmed by Zoobey!
- Don't forget about [ infection rates ]. Add or subtract infection rates accordingly in your RP. If you are interacting with a player (PICK ONE) who has a lower infection rate than you, remember that you LOSE 5 infection from your current standing immediately after you interact with them!
- exclaim Sometimes a [ WORLD BOSS ] may invade your thread. You cannot avoid this from happening as this is a very dangerous area! This is a bad bad thing. You should run. If this happens, follow the [ escape mechanics ] for the world boss. You may also try to take it on but they usually hurt a lot. World bosses will drastically increase your infection rate.
[ Step 4: ] When you have posted 450 words and FULFILLED the base requirements (pass or fail!) for the event, it is considered completed! You do not need to wait on other players to fulfill it, though turn based posts for prp is recommended, it isn't required if you are in a pinch for time! Prompt rps [ do NOT summon mobs in the mob summon thread ]. The minimum requirement to "complete" this zone is 3 prompts and then [ YOU MAY GO AND DO FREE PRPS ] for extra bonuses (see below).

NON EVENT RPS
STEP 3: NON EVENT RPS (FREE RPS)
When you are done the [ the 3 EVENT RPS] You may now FREELY RP with anyone you wish or continue to write solos based on the prompts, or write general solos for mobs. Please note, you can participate in someone else's prompt RP even if you finished yours!
Free RPS will NOT cause your infection rate to go up, but they will also summon random mobs using the MOB SUMMON THREAD. You can have a lot of fun experimenting in these threads with crazy situations between characters. Here are a list of IC locations for your character to RP in. They are tied to an emotion. RPing in that location will cause that emotion to happen more often. Remember that these rps still have added effects as well!
Please when doing free RPs, select a location from one of the list below.
LIST OF IC LOCATIONS YOUR CHARACTER CAN BE IN:
gaia_star[ INSIDE - Broken down hospital wing, third floor. ] (EMOTION: PARANOIA) All the furniture is broken, the tables upturned. Some of the walls are missing. The only light source, other than any you have potentially carried with you, is the eerie moonlight peering through the fog. There is broken glass everywhere and you swear you can hear voices calling out to you.
[ INSIDE - Broken down hospital wing, second floor. ] (EMOTION: FEAR) The entire hallway has been emptied, and all the doors are broken down or boarded. You feel like there is something watching you, following you down the hallway, but you can't place a finger on it. The feeling of dread is overwhelming and makes you nearly unable to take any steps further. It feels like you are drowning.
[ INSIDE- Broken down hospital wing, first floor. ] (EMOTION: PANIC) Something claws in your chest, and you feel the urge to run, to panic, to flee. It feels like something will pop out from the dark corridors almost immediately. Sometimes, you hear someone calling out to you, and it is a familiar voice. It always shouts help.
[ INSIDE- Hospital foyer ] (EMOTION: TENSION) All your hairs rise on end as you browse this littered area. There are papers all direction, and deep bloodstained gouges. The undying run thick in this area, and you have to hide often, playing a game of of hide-and-seek as you try to avoid being detected by one.
[ INSIDE- ??? ROOM ] (EMOTION: TREPIDATION) There is only one room on the fourth floor, followed by one set of stairs. It is just a room, with a single, glowing computer. The computer is not plugged in but the screen is working.
It simply reads [ 90% UPLOADED ]. The bar is moving very slowly.
There is not really much else in the room. Pressing keys doesn't seem to work on the computer.
[ OUTSIDE- AROUND THE FENCE ] (EMOTION: CONFUSION) Outside the fence is a little too close to the fog. It is extremely disorienting, as the fog calls out to you. Sometimes you see faces, shapes, sometimes actual form of people. It temps and tantalizes you and drives you insane. Sometimes, instead of seeing a humanoid shape, you just see a set of eyes and teeth that are way too large for any human gazing at you, immediately turning away as you stare directly at it, always followed by a series of footsteps.
[ OUTSIDE- AT THE SHED ] (EMOTION: MADNESS) All your senses scream at you not to approach this shed. It is locked. A loud wailing voice continues to knock against the rusted chains of the shed. Hands, multiple, long hands, attempt to slide out from it. A sign crudely painted on the shed says [ INFECTED INSIDE - DO NOT APPROACH ]
[ OUTSIDE - THE MAIN BASE CAMPFIRE ] (EMOTION: HATRED) Someone has set a campfire up closest to the outside of the hospital. It attracts a straggling amount of undying, but nothing too serious. Some survivors have settled in together, though occasionally when you blink, they look like infected instead. Best not to stare too hard, or hope they come for you next.
Feel free to alternate between doing some of the more structured prompt orps (in the post above) and these FREE PRPS. You are allowed to do more than 3 event rps if you wish. The whole goal of this zone is the descending madness of your character faced with the challenges of everything going around them. You can approach this at whatever angle you wish!
Mechanics such as [ world bosses ], [ SPECIAL CHARACTER EFFECTS ] and [ decreasing of the infection rate ] still apply to PRPs. You just don't have to follow the plot structure of the event rps! Remember that you do have to roll a chance of a mob summon first per character!
HIDDEN AREAS:
*MAP HERE TO FIND HIDDEN AREAS*
Whenever you RP in a [ NON EVENT RP ] and post over 250 words, you "discover" a broken up piece of map. When you have [ collected five pieces of this map ] you may access the secret area HERE
Squirming her way out of the crowd stuck at the doors, Rinko began running, following some of the other Uni members she could see. As they run further, she began to lose sight of them in the rapidly thickening fog. Wary of her deteriorating sight, Rinko slows down, trying to pick up any indication of the others.
Rinko tries to ignore the newly arrived voices, as she has done to those that show up after Day Zero. "Everyone is infected" that b*****d said. Now that she thinks about it, it does make some sense, why attacks from the Infected & Undying don't affect them like the victims of Day Zero, why the Lost became the Infected, why the dead become Undying... Rinko feels a strange itch as something snaps within her. Her mind begins to wander, & it took several tries to focus. She realized she has lost her sense of reality. The fog! It might be causing all this!
Quote:
[ 4 ] You feel something following you from behind the fog, and hear it breathing. It doesn't sound human, and if you dare chance to look back, you see several pairs of eyes blinking at you all at different times. The sounds continue to follow you, but the eyes are nowhere to be seen. [ +5 infection]. [ 6 ] At last you come to the exit of the fog! You run towards it, and it seems to continue the same distance as you run on and on and on. Eventually, you realize that you were not getting any closer to the exit. [ +5 infection]. [ 5 ] Your begin to feel dizzy and nauseous as a strange sleepiness comes over you. You run. [ +10 infection].
Walking towards where she last saw the others heading to, she feels something watching her, following her, close enough to hear it's breath. Rinko takes a peep over her shoulder, inhaling a quick breath at the number of inhuman eyes watching her from the fog. When she took another look around, the eyes vanish, but the noisy breathing still continues for a bit before fading.
Is that? Yes! A thinning in the fog. Rinko starts jogging towards it, only... No matter how long she runs, she still can reach the exit. Another hallucination?
As she continues, she began to feel like she dragging her body though water. Stomach chugging, Rinko wipes her eye & took a look around. Bodies, no. People, still breathing. All face down. She feels a shiver down her spine. Spinning around, she heads of at a run, trying to get away from whatever effect that cause them to fall asleep where the Infected & Undying can get to them.
Soon, Rinko reach an actual thinning of the Fog. Cautiously, she approach the large shadow further ahead. It looks like an abandoned hospital. Looking around, Rinko notices fresh footprints heading in. Maybe some of the others were here too?

When the casino employees weren't going to let Lissa enter the restaurant, she had no choice to get creative. She'd run to the junkyard and sold what she'd needed, collected from her wins at Russian roulette, bought herself out, started playing games as fast as she could to reach 125. She ran to each 20 questions table and tried her luck, cut her hands on playing cards with poker. But the House always won, and even though she'd bought herself, she watched her remaining winnings fall lower and lower. She had to get to 125, she had to get in there, she had to save Jeff.
She counted 104 when the announcers came on, and by the time she'd thought to move for the doors, the power was flickering.
In the darkness, it was mania. People screamed for each other with outreached arms like desperate tree branches, swaying in the barren fall. These limbs from the void tore at Lissa's dress, her hair, her backpack, begging for purchase against the storm, and Lissa had no choice but to kick them down, sobbing the whole while in anger.
There would be no saving Jeff, nor Ritsa or G-Man. This was a burden she would be bearing alone.
Lissa thought that breaking free into the night air would be a release, an escape from the horrors inside. But the chill of the evening only seeped into her bones, settling in from the horror of watching people pour out from the casino doors like vomit, clutching at bullet wounds and screaming for those who would never see the light of day. There might have been Mall Rats among the throng, but the Mall Rats had died with Jeff, with Guy's sincerity, with Rebecca Fong at the teeth of something too big and too dark to comprehend. None of the chaos mattered--they were all infected, they were all going to die, and this too sunk into her bones.
Lissa Buckly was going to die, but she was going to do it away from the others, private and on her own terms, so she ran into the mists, where at least her body might never be found. She ran until the din of the casino faded into white noise, into single voices that whispered in the darkness, and then finally hers, a lonely narrator in a barren land.
"You sent them in there without you because you knew you couldn't handle what was happening. You sent them to watch Jeff die."
"Ritsa is just a girl, how dare you put her safety above yours? How dare you promise her that everything is alright, only to throw her into the belly of the beast itself?"
"And G-Man, you were so willing to sacrifice him for the sake of your insatiable need to know. Curiosity is supposed to kill the cat, not the ball of twine it plays with, Lizzle."
"You called all those people on the radio with your sob story, begging for help, but you could have fought the guards. You could have taken a few bullets for once. How many people were injured so you could get coins? How many?"
"And it was all for nothing. You trusted the liar. You let Jeff die. You let him die. It should have been you on that plate."
Lissa started to protest, to fight, to even scream, but it did no good. The words were coming from her own mouth.

Currently wearing a tattered light blue gown made of cheap fabric, calling to mind a particular character from Game of Thrones. The dress is worn over what appears to be a comfortable sweater and jeans because nothing about Khaleesi's outfit is Canada-approved.
The electricity cut out and everything was chaos once again. Renita hadn't really been expecting the path out of the casino to go smoothly, but, well, it seemed even the casino employees hadn't been prepared for this. There was screaming, brief flashes of gunfire, and she was swept along with the group as everyone surged for the exits. Then there was a rush of cool air and they were out, scattering into open air and a thick fog that definitely hadn't been there when they'd gone into the trap to begin with.
"Sawyer? Sawyer, are you here?" She couldn't see anything through the fog, and even through her fear, she couldn't help but to be frustrated. After all they'd gone through, after how she'd fought to find her sister and their friends and neighbors, she'd lost them all over again. She'd lost everyone, it seemed, because though she'd come out with the crowd, she couldn't make out anyone close to her. There were just running footsteps and-
Gasping, she ducked as an infected burst out of the fog and fled further into the unknown. Soon enough she was stumbling, fingers clutched tightly around her umbrella and the knife she'd found...somewhere? Where had she picked that up? She must have gotten closer to the crowd again though, because she could hear them whispering all around. They were hard to make out at first, and then started to settle into familiar voices, and then, before she could get her hopes up, 'Everyone is infected'.
The words followed her as she ran for an exit from the fog, any exit. But no matter how far she ran the fog went on and on.

Her eyes are brown. She stands at about 5'6" and has a curvy but relatively fit figure. Generally dresses modestly and/or professionally, with a love of sweaters.
Sobriety was found quickly when yelling and gunfire was heard. The sounds of conflict sent Justin out of the casino that wanted to keep them there and for what he heard, also hosted a cannibal's delight. he took to his feet and ran, away from the lights and down a narrow past through desiccated trees and an uneven trail. The sound of blood rushing flooded his ears, a steady thrum with the pace of his heartbeat that spurred him on from lights into a shroud of white. It was like a cloak, thick and unrelenting, the blonde tried to turn about face and go back into a clearer location, but it only got thicker and soon enough the sky held no marker or compass for him to go by. Tree that juted from the starkness and some that had moving limbs, but were not trees but the undying. They were able to estimate his location with a decent degree of accuracy, enough for the former bartender to try and move sideways and go at a snails pace.
There were areas that seemed lighter, or was it safer to say it was clearer? Justin wasn't sure, the sound on the wind was howling and it did nothing to make him any calmer. whatever it was, it felt right to go to, but then again it might have been bad. No, it was definitely good, he was sure of it, the radio did nothing to help, just a hodgepodge of cracks and broken syllables that meant nothing as he continued to walk and fiddle with the frequency.
Looking back up meant finding his bearing had not changed. Perplexed he tried to walk toward the clear space again and found no progress towards it in sight.
"Am I going around in circles?" the wind was the only company, sharp and without mercy. It sounded like.... laughing.

Rajni had already deduced as much, but the man's speech brought together a few of her missing puzzle pieces. It at least explained why they ate people; Rajni couldn't agree with the solution, but she could at least see the logic and be ... tempted. Not swayed, but presented with an option.
One she wouldn't take as she ran from the casino, collarless and free. It was a stampede, and Rajni wasn't so much thinking clearly as she was running as fast as possible. She would curse herself later as her feet carried her farther and farther away from the casino, deeper and deeper into a land she didn't recognize. For some reason she'd thought if she just kept running she'd eventually hit the apartments.
But of course ... that was absurd. The absurd ramblings of a panicked animal running for their life.
She ran until she had to stop and lean on her knees, gasping for fiery hot breaths in the depths of her chest. She was horribly out of shape and running like this was exhausting in the best light. She couldn't even handle climbing up to the roof of the apartments; hell, since the elevators broke she hadn't stepped foot on the roofs once. She didn't even know if they still looked the same or if they were different by now. The empty sound ricocheting off the surrounding air informed her that she was alone; somehow she'd separated herself from the others.
Nausea and dizziness followed as she took the next step, but that wasn't unusual for a slightly chubby girl after a sprint for her life. In fact, it was pretty normal for Rajni. She was used to needing to sit down after about five flights of apartment stairs, so this wasn't anything new.
Which was probably what kept her from realizing that something was very, very wrong. Her limbs grew heavy but still she walked; had to get away, had to get away. No choice, just run from the casino- run dammit.
Finally her legs gave out and she stumbled, forced to look down. Instead of meeting with hard pavement, her knees squished into flesh and she screamed. Disgusting macabre bodies with parts sewn open and closed eyes; yet the worst part was the grin, the contorted faces with lips stretched too widely and teeth ready to gnaw on her.
Rajni screamed and forced her legs to move forward. There was no other option.
Rajni was beginning to realize that there never were any options.

Bing had no idea what it was, but this fog was bad news. At first, he'd been able to navigate simply because he knew that he needed to run away from the gun-shots. Something must've failed horribly for the Casino cannibals.
He was pretty happy about that, actually.
You would be.
Bing started, turning to stare into whiteness. Had someone...? But there wasn't anyone around him. He couldn't even see if there were any Infected nearby.
Keeping an ear out, Bing continued forward, and eventually thought he saw a lightness to the fog ahead of him. Eager to leave this strange purgatory, Bing started jogging towards the light.
He thought he heard laughter behind him, and stopped, checking his six o'clock. Again, there was no one, and when he looked back toward the light, it was far away again. Bing studied it, then turned to study the fog once more. When he started moving again, he tried jogging, he tried running, he tried a flat out sprint, but the light never came any closer.
An illusion? A mirage? A hallucination? Bing panted as he slowed back to a steady lope. He really needed to get out of this fog.
Or you could just have a seat and wait for one of the Infected to give you a big hug...
Bing frowned as he checked the fog again. The sooner out, the better.

The wind was only getting stronger and louder in Justin's ears, spinning him around till it was sufficiently pleased that he was lost. It was the sound of laughter, a mocking tone he was sure as he trudged on towards the patch of light fog, it beckoned him. it called but Justin could never seem to reach it. The forces of fog and forest deemed the area unobtainable and looked on with thinly disguised humor at his antics. He could have sworn that he was not moving forward, but being pushed back.

Keep. Running.
Everyone is infected.
Her vision blurred and she eventually felt herself pass out. Whether that was the infection, the exhaustion from running or another force, Rajni didn't care.
She realized she couldn't remember the last time she'd slept.
When her eyes opened she stood before a grand building, riddled with signs of abandonment and darkness. She couldn't remember how she'd gotten there. It was simply where she was.

The chaos from the casino had thrown Diana out of it before she had a chance to really respond. People were pushing, shoving, doing anything in their power to just get out. On top of that now she was lost and there was all this fog around her. She couldn't see anything, and as she'd come to find out talking over the radio was completely useless at this point. She just needed to find her jailbirds. She needed to make sure they were all safe and sound somehow. If after everything they went through they somehow got hurt or even worse....oh she just would not forgive herself. She'd made such good friends and she wasn't about to let some stupid fog get the best of her. She just had to find a way out of it somehow.
"Max? Monica? Mia? Shaun?" she shouted all their names, even Boss' name in hopes of finding one of them. Was shouting a bit of a dumb idea, of course, but she had to find them.
Oh sweetheart you should just give up. You'll never find them. You were too late, don't you know? They're all dead.
What was this? It sounded like her voice, but those were definitely not her thoughts. It couldn't be. Her friends were safe after all. She'd purchased Max herself and she knew the others had gotten out!
Poor, poor Diana. No one cares about poor little Diana. Always left out and abandoned. Too bad for you everyone is dead. The voice cackled.
"No! No they're okay! I'm going to find them and save them and we'll all be okay!"
Your family is dead. Just like that boy.
"I-i have to g-get out of here. I h-have to get out," she sobbed, running through the fog in search of her friends.Something knew where she was, it had said so over the radio, and it wasn't going to leave her alone. She was sure of it.

The last thing she had heard from G-man had been a rebuff against her request. Kick my a** later. Oh, how she had wanted to throw the radio then. Maybe he wouldn't have been in any danger, but then what if there was something even worse than cannibalism occurring at the casino? Worse, what if G did something stupid and got himself landed on the menu next? Christ, and if Dazs happened to be as rebellious...
She almost was thankful the gunshots happened. That they were all forced to evacuate the premises as quickly as possible, even if it was into this infernal fog. And infernal was right: it seemed unnatural, thicker than it should be and filled with a certain something that made the hair on her arms and the back of her neck rise. Everyone is infected. Like the announcer had said. Like she had thought.
For once, Adelaide didn't like being right.
She pushed forward for...well, she didn't know how long. The radio seemed to be down any time she tried, naturally; it would have been just too easy to be able to know if her sons were alright right then and there. She had to earn it back.
There was a clearing ahead. Breathing a sigh of relief, Adelaide broke through and felt her breath get a little easier. There were others there, a decently sized group she felt a little safer around. "Room for one more?" she tried to engage them, her usual smile wan and small.
They said nothing.
She paused midstep and tried to take a better look at them. Their eyes were unfocused, the air seemingly dead still as if they weren't breathing. She hesitated only for a second more before backing away and trying her luck elsewhere.
