As the darkness of sleep seeped away, giving way to consciousness, the ashen blond slowly became more alert to his surrounding. There were times when a person became more aware of their body one limb at a time; a slow awakening having been weighed down by an unseen force. It was as he slowly woke that he first felt his legs then his arms before his mind became aware of the fact he was not laying on one of his oversized pillows but rather he had been laying on someone? Now this is odd. Very odd indeed, this wasn’t normal at all. Why is someone in my bed...and more importantly who? They are warm though. The last thought was one he shouldn’t be having. However, it was, in a way, comforting to think of such a thing and to wake up as he was, minus the confusion.
Shifting, he slowly let his eyes drift open, just as a yawn parted his lips, and that was when he realized that he had done a fair bit of moving about in his sleep. One leg and one arm draped over Aiden as he was cuddled up to him. Cursing himself mentally, he shifted again and went to pull away, not wanting to rouse the other and have to explain himself. There really wasn’t much of a way to explain other than he’d decided to cuddle the other in his sleep, it sort of went without saying, and yet he’d have felt the need to try and justify his actions away.
Laying himself back down Alex rolled his shoulders comfortably with a sigh of pleasure. Oh, that sleep had felt nice even if he had woken up in such a position.
Beside him Aiden remained motionless aside from his steady breathing.
About a half hour prior, grey rimmed blue eyes had snapped open startled by the nightmare that was the creature that had been pursuing him. Unable to run away in his dreams, pinned down by some unseeable force that was holding him down, the only thing Aiden could do was watch as the wickedly wide grin of sharp teeth snapped in front of his face with the intent on devouring him whole.
It wasn’t until after the haze of terror lifted that he had realized that which kept him from fleeing was Alex lying mostly on top of him; one leg draped over his own while his arm rested across his chest and head against his shoulder. In truth it took a lot to keep himself from throwing the other off him in an attempt to dislodge himself from that which kept him trapped.
With his free hand Aiden applied pressure to his throbbing headache and closed his eyes. So much of what happened the previous night seemed surreal. Had it not been for the pain he felt in his lower back he would have assumed someone had drugged him or something. “There’s gotta be some explanation.” he whispered to himself. One eye cracked open and in his peripheral he watched Alex sleep blissfully unaware his companion had woken.
After drawing in a deep breath, assessing the extent of his injuries, Aiden let out a sigh then closed his eyes till the other woke up. Yet as Alex began to stir he remained still till the other settled into a more comfortable position before glancing over at the shorter male through cracked eyelids, partially swollen from a restless sleep.
“Morning,” he spoke, though his voice sounded rough and in need of water. Clearing his throat his added, “sleep well?”
Surprised Alex nearly jumped when he heard the others voice. “A-Aiden.” Oh yes, he was surprised, and he could feel his cheeks warming. Was the other going to say anything about this? Should he move away? He was comfortable though...but was the other hurting? Biting down on his lip he was reluctant to sit up and stare down at the other.
There was no way, with his fair complexion, to hide the pink hue staining his cheeks as he stared down at the other. “I-I did...did you?” He asked in an unusual display of sheepishness as he stumbled over his words, as if they were a struggle to get out past his lips. “Are you feeling ok? I mean I - sorry. I shouldn’t have slept up here.” He knew he tended to move some in sleep but not enough to cuddle a person, at least he hadn’t thought so. “I can get you something to drink...and breakfast.” He offered. One hand rested on the bed next to the other as his right hand was raised and fingers tried to smooth his sleep mussed hair.
When his right hand went back to the bed it was resting just above the others shoulder. He didn’t look away, didn’t move to get up, he didn’t move at all as he stared down at the other.
“Heh,” Aiden chuckled at Alex’s attempt to remain cool despite his obvious embarrassment. “I’m fine for now.” he answered, looking up he couldn’t help but allow his eyes to wander the blondes pale skin.
“I’m glad.” He was very glad that Aiden was fine for the moment. He would have been upset, felt some guilt even, if the other were suffering in some manner.
“Hmm, nice,” He commented with a satisfied smile and slight nod of approval when his gaze settled on the black ink skilfully drawn on such a fine canvas. Distracted, Aiden lifted one arm off the bed so he may trail his fingers along the ivy path. With the temperature heating up perhaps Alex would be more willing to show off his tattoos instead of hiding them like he has so skillfully been doing for how long now? Nearly four months and this was the first time he was seeing them.
What Alexandre wasn’t expecting, and hadn’t really thought about, was the ink showing as it decorated his upper half in curls of thorned ivy. He couldn’t help but think about it as he watched the others hand lift and fingers move over his own fair flesh, tracing the patterns which decorated him.
Stomach muscles shuddered and his forehead landed on the others shoulder, head tilting to the side so his breath ghosted the others neck, as he let out a shuddering breathy sound.
“Sorry,” he muttered under his breath mentally chastised himself for his own forwardness. Despite them having just spent the night in the same bed, Alex’s lack of clothes, or his own for that matter, was not permission to touch without asking.
Oh god...another sound passed his lips before he shook his head to the others words. “I-it’s fine.” It was really fine. It hadn’t bothered him but it did send his thoughts and emotions all over the place - damn it!
Stiff from laying flat on his back for far too long, the dark haired young man rolled over onto his side with a bit of a grunting sound. Though his body protested the movement, Aiden needed to get up before he got too antsy or irritable. “Do you know if Jenna bought my clothes by?” he inquired as an attempt to avoid having to explain his actions.
As Aiden started to shift he lifted himself off the other, glad for the time he put in at the gym as he had good arm and upper body strength and could hold himself up and off the others body as he moved to lay on his side.
“No...I don’t know. You could take a shower and I’ll call her…” Offering as he bit down on his bottom lip, his gaze focused on the others face and trying not to go elsewhere. He really shouldn’t be in this position, both physically and otherwise. This was not good for him. Pushing himself away from the other he sat back on his heels watching him.
Both pair of similar blue eyes locked and for a moment it felt like each was waiting for the other to say or do something. Man the elephant in this room is suffocating, Aiden thought with a mental sigh.
“Kay,” He finally replied after a minute or two. “Where can I find the towels?” he asked while reaching to grab the thin blanket draped over the end of the bed to cover himself in the meantime for modesty’s sake. Not that Alex hadn’t already seen everything there was to him anyway; if anything, it made this whole morning just that much more awkward.
Trapped, he felt trapped, and couldn’t break the staring match they’d unconsciously entered into. He couldn’t blink, couldn’t pull away, he wanted to speak or move or do something but he wasn’t sure of what or how. He felt nervous, more nervous than he had in a while.
When Aiden broke the silence and moved it broke the spell and Alex, cheeks flush, blinked several times before remembering to answer the other. “Closet in the bathroom.” Pointing to one of the doors in his room which lead to his personal bathroom. It was done in white, brushed silver, and a color similar to his eyes. There were candle holders, with candles, in the bathroom and a good amount of products sitting on the counter ready for use. “Spare toothbrush in the closet also.” He whispered and swallowed as he watched the other cover up, not that it mattered but it did rouse memories for Alexandre who was really ready to bury his face into his pillow and hide under his bedding and never crawl out from under it.
“Thank you,” came a reply from the dark haired young man as he rose from the side of the bed.
His muscles ached from overuse and from wounds he couldn’t really see both which elicited a bit of a grunt from Aiden but aside from that he merely clenched his jaw and put up with the discomfort.
“1194,” he paused just before reaching the doorway. “That’s the number to unlock my phone. You can find Jenna’s number in the recent calls.” Not knowing what else to say he raked his fingers through his tussled hair seconds before disappearing into the bathroom to clean himself up.
Grabbing for the others phone he turned to watch him go, watching Aiden from over his shoulder, as he sat in the middle of his bed. Ruffled sheets all around his petite form as he sat there looking rather lost even as Alexandre turned away to focus on the phone held in his hands. His fingers went through the motions of unlocking the others phone.
“If you need anything call for me.” Glancing back over his shoulder to the other he felt a smile tugging at his lips, something small but a smile none the less. He should really call the others sister and then go make breakfast but somehow he knew he wouldn’t be wandering down to the kitchen for a while.
As the bathroom door shut he went about finding the number he needed and placing the call. Biting his bottom lip as he pressed the others phone to his ear and waited.
