Moseying around the village some more, seeking out extending her growing list of completed quests, the reaper listened extra hard to those around her for any gossip or chatter that could be picked up. But the villagers were starting to open up more, and be more approachable, and willing to approach. It was far better now than it was when she first arrived... barely able to get a word out of the most of them!
Lucky enough, she just so happened to get prompted by a fisherman that was in passing. He'd taken note of the whale fin she had gathered, with a few other items from a few quests she'd completed, and informed her of how useful the material could be for something better! with some ushering, he showed her to his little home where he had quite the variety of poles himself. When they got settled, he began to show her how to form the whale fin into a fishing pole. It was amazing to witness, and the ghoul didn't look away for a second.
Once the fisherman was complete with the creating of the pole, Verusha was also given information on a prime fishing location. Apparently, it held a vast collection of fish species, that could fetch a pretty penny too... While money wasn't really a desired subject, maybe trading more items that the villagers would like could enhance the growing relations.

With her rod in tow, the ghoul started to head for the towns lake, Cannon trotting alongside her. It'd been awhile since she'd fished, and she didn't do it often. The majority of times she had it'd been bare handed, and her trusty familiar had always joined in as well. So this would be interesting...
On her way out though, she did realize that bait would be necessary. Luckily, on her path was another fisherman, who had his rod resting against his shoulder, while the other hand sported an old tin can. It looked like he'd just finished a session of fishing himself... with nothing to show for it, that the reaper could see. As the two passed one another, his arm jutted out to offer the beat up old tin can to the ghoul, who took it curiously. Peering in, a lump of petite spiders was visible, making her brow crook. How did one get these fixed onto a hook..? Looks like she'd be finding out.

Out at the lake, Verusha gazed out along its impressive size, admiring the surprising tranquility it possessed. Although... the stillness of the water, and the condensation that oozed out of it was slightly unnerving, and gave some cause for concern... or curiosity...
But she got right to it, finding a comfy place to sit along the edge. Setting herself up, the ghoul plopped down on her bum, and crossed her legs. Reaching into the tin can, she pulled out a couple of the balled up spiders, and fiddled with the hook to attach them to it to her best ability. "Stay on there, little guys." she murmured to them, watching as a few attempted to detangle and crawl away. Looks like she'd need to cast fast. Arm equipped with the pole lifted, and cranked back, before giving a firm, and focused thrust of the rod, string trailing forward like a ribbon before plunking into the undisturbed water, ripple radiating from the point of interest.
Now, she had to wait.
Cannon stood guard, as per usual, walking around behind her to survey the area and make sure no spot was left untouched by his sharp, firey gaze. But his ears perked when he heard the zip of his reapers line, warning that something had gotten onto the end of her rod. Turning around, he trotted back to her side, eagerly looking to the water, as well was bracing for a possible battle with a distressed fish.
But as Verusha began to reel in her catch, a rather perplexing result was revealed. A bonefish.... He blinked at it, before looking to the reaper who was rather pleased with her catch, grinning pretty smugly.
With her caught prize in hand, and bait run out, the student stood up, and headed back to town to trade her find.
